I think in her case she's british, and they are not as caught up on race, especially when it comes to dating, as Americans. Mixed race brits tend to date white people because there are more white people.

I wasn't talking about the race/parents thing as a social construct. I'm saying it's about much more about imprinting and the *science* of attraction. People are often attracted to to the phenotype of one of their parents (often the opposite sex parent but obviously not always) and seek to replicate those visual qualities in a mate. This also happens in non mixed families.....where, for instance, the daughter will marry a guy who looks quite a bit like her father. But in the case of mixed race adults, the preference then becomes a bit more...obvious and easy to observe.
