Just Channing Tatum.

by Anonymous | reply 8 | April 13, 2022 11:10 PM |
Based on her volatility around topics like race and culture, I'm going to guess she was a big Will Smith and Jada defender, probably something about trauma caused by years of slavery, and Tatum was like the majority of America who thought it was a black mark against Will Smith.
I find it bizarre that such defenders completely overlook the fact that the victim of The Slap was black himself.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | April 14, 2022 8:44 AM |
Wow R9 that’s INSANE
Channing Tatum is such a huge diva despite his nice guy routine, he probably has more in common with Will Smith than he’d like to admit
by Anonymous | reply 11 | April 14, 2022 8:59 AM |
Tatum found Newton’s beliefs so intolerable, he had to drive off the set and then have her fired. Regardless of if I agree with him or not, his behaviour seems unprofessional and silly. That doesn’t absolve her of whatever she said/did.
But my parents were on Smith’s side—which I didn’t agree with—and I couldn’t be bothered. We just moved on to another topic after a few minutes. I was still angry about it, but I couldn’t give it anymore energy. That was 48 hours after it happened. It has been over two weeks now. I know Tatum works in the industry and has a more vested interest in the Oscars than myself (who is just an Oscar obsessive), but, come on, really?
by Anonymous | reply 12 | April 14, 2022 10:10 AM |
I just remembered that Tatum worked extensively with Jada Pinkett Smith on the previous Magic Mike film, so maybe he was on their side and she was on Rock’s.

R12 I didn't read that as he found her views so intolerable he drove off the set.
I read it as the way she expressed the views was intolerable.

by Anonymous | reply 27 | April 14, 2022 3:22 PM |
I would not expect Channing to be on Will's side because I would never expect Thandie to not be on Will and Jada's side. I can see her having extreme views about it and expressing these views - against someone who disagrees, but didn't back down - in an increasingly toxic manner. I do not see her as someone who allows others to have their own viewpoints, but as someone who browbeats and wears down people into agreeing with them.
She just couldn't get away with it on this set.

Thandie has a reputation for being a diva on sets. I remember when she was doing press for some Tom Cruise movie she was doing she jokingly telling how she would have a bitch fit on there because the coffee was shit. In her mind I think she thought the anecdote would law her look relatable but she just came across as a spoiled bitch.
Regarding this situation, they were also reports saying even before this altercation with Channing, she had already been a diva with the AD and someone else on set.
She reminds me of unstable Halle Berry but ugly

by Anonymous | reply 38 | April 14, 2022 4:01 PM |
r14, her birth name is Melanie Thandiwe Newton. Depending on the story she's telling, either the w got erased by evil nuns at Catholic school or it was "misspelled" on the credits for her first film as Thandie; either way, she went with it until 2021, when she decided to "reclaim her heritage" and revert to Thandiwe.
Her name is actually Thandie, or did she change her name to Thandiwe?! WTF?
Thandiwe Newton's first acting credit aged 16 was in Flirting, written and directed by John Duigan, who was 40. She entered into a coercive and abusive "relationship" with him which she's spoken about openly..
The character in Flirting was called Thandiwe but something happened during the post production/artwork/promo and her name was misspelled as Thandie and she adopted that as her name. She decided to revert to Thandiwe in the last couple of years.
All her future films will be credited with Thandiwe Newton, after the W was carelessly missed out from her first credit. Now she’s in control. Many lives lived and she’s come out triumphant, preserved in the magic of the mist and sun that made her, and wanted her to shine. “That’s my name. It’s always been my name. I’m taking back what’s mine.”
by Anonymous | reply 43 | April 14, 2022 7:41 PM |
Thandie is another British performer from middle class privilege who downplays the reality, very much like another Brit Riz Ahmed, who claims he's "working class, from Wembley", but is actually descended from Indian & Pakistani royalty, attended an expensive private school then went on to Oxford, not on scholarship, but due to his background. His father owns a shipping company. Ahmed's is a descendant the first Muslim Chief Justice of the Allahabad High Court during British colonial rule in India.
Thandie might not have come from great wealth, but she sure didn't grown up in UK council housing. In fact, years ago, on Graham Norton's show, she talked about her happy childhood.
Thandie's husband, director Oliver Parker is British and white. "He wrote and directed the 2018 musical film Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again. Oliver Parker write screenplay for Imagine Me & You, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel (2011) and The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel (2015), and wrote and directed the musical sequel, Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again."
Their 17 year old daughter Nico Parker is also an actress.
"Newton was born in Westminster, London, England, to Nyasha, a Zimbabwean member of a Shona chiefly family, and Nick Newton, an English laboratory technician and artist. She has one younger brother. Her birthplace has been incorrectly reported to be Zambia in some biographies, but she has confirmed in interviews that she was born in London. Thandiwe is a name of Nguni origin meaning "beloved".
Her family moved to Penzance, Cornwall, when she was 3 years old, so her father could help run the family antiques business. She attended St Mary's Roman Catholic Primary School. Newton remarked at a TED conference, "From about the age of five, I was aware that I didn't fit. I was the black, atheist kid in the all-white, Catholic school run by nuns. I was an anomaly."
She began dropping the letter w in "Thandiwe", leaving it as "Thandie", pronounced /ˈtændi/ TAN-dee in English.
Newton was raised in London and Penzance. She studied dance at the Tring Park School for the Performing Arts. Between 1992 and 1995, Newton studied at Downing College, Cambridge, where she obtained a degree in social anthropology."
It's ridiculous when performers like Thandie and Riz downplay their backgrounds and act as if they are so put upon, the opposite has been the case. Doors were easily open for both of them.

Channing is friends with Will & Jada and hired Jada to do Magic Mike XXL. Although, as mentioned, he's dating Zoe but that doesn't mean they have the same views on "the slap." Thandie also knows everyone in that family and worked with Will.
Even if they were arguing, I doubt that she would have been fired over it unless there was something else going on.
Firing people, especially at her level, cost money and Salma ain't cheap either.
Now if this didn't happen and Thandie really did leave for family reasons, Channing will speak up and say so. If he stays silent, then we know the answer that a whole lot of mess was going on.

Her mother is from Botswana in Southern Africa. The name is [bold] Thandiwe[/bold] shortened to Thandie because it rolls better of Western tongues. Remember the HBO show "The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency"? The lead character played by Jill Scott was Ma Ramotswe. Another common female name in that country is Lindiwe often shortened as Lindie.

R70 you can try and spin it any way you want, when a sequel was announced shortly after the film came out, everyone was signed on minus him. Matthew McConaughey was offered a part and he declined. Even Cody Horn was offered a cameo and she declined. Pettyfer was not asked. He was dropped. That’s the same as being fired in the film world.

The sequel was announced two years after the original film was released. Matthew McConaughey did not decline the role, he wanted too much money and was not asked back. So by your logic, McConaughey was also fired.
by Anonymous | reply 76 | April 15, 2022 3:15 AM |
R76 actually the film was announced in July of 2012. It didn’t start pre-production until 2014 and then was filmed in 2014 to be released in 2015.
A. That’s a lie. McBongo declined reprising his role. However, if he was asked but they dropped him because he was too expensive means he was still asked and considered, opposite of Pettyfer. What isn’t registering?

by Anonymous | reply 78 | April 15, 2022 3:21 AM |
Matthew McConaughey did not do the sequel because he was already signed onto another film, which was filming at the same exact time XXL would be filming. He very much was asked but they couldn’t reschedule to have him, as that all costs more money, plus they wanted to have the film be ready for release in 2015, 3 years after the first.

Channing Tatum literally said money was the reason they couldn’t get Matthew McConaughey back

R81 he never said that.
“While speaking to TheWrap at the Toronto International Film Festival, however, Channing did mention that one key cast member had pulled out, and the departure was causing a delay in production.”
Trying to get McBongo on caused delays to begin with. There was no way to work it out.
PS delays COST MONEY when making films. That’s what Tatum was speaking about. They had a $15 million budget to stick to. The first was made for $7 million.
Why do you keep lying as if the info isn’t all over the internet? You do realize YOU ARE ON THE INTERNET, right?

One-time Hollywood bad boy Alex Pettyfer stopped by Bret Easton Ellis’ podcast to clarify some of the rumors about his past behavior. Pettyfer reveals that he didn’t, as was reported, burn his house down, or have an outburst on set when he found out he wasn’t being paid as much as his co-stars. (He walked a mile away and screamed but says it was apparently so loud that people on set heard.) But he says that rumors that he and his Magic Mike co-star Channing Tatum didn’t get along on set are true.
“Channing Tatum does not like me,” says Pettyfer. “For many reasons. Many being my own fault.”
The actor goes on to explain that after reports surfaced of his bad boy behavior, including some of the incidents above, he was approached by Steven Soderbergh to star in Magic Mike. Even though Soderbergh wanted to cast him, Pettyfer thinks Tatum, who had invested his own money into the film, saw casting him [Pettyfer] as too much of a business risk.
“I had a very negative past relating to the things that I had done on movies and promotion of movies. And Channing Tatum is an extraordinarily smart businessman,” says Pettyfer. “I think he probably didn’t want to get into a conflict with Steven and so I was cast.”
by Anonymous | reply 93 | April 15, 2022 3:46 AM |

Why fight over two people you haven’t anything invested in?

McBongo was filming Gus Van Sant’s “Sea of Trees” with Naomi Watts as they filmed XXL.

r125, Channing is proving to be one of the few stars who can get people to go to the movies, as in actually going to a cinema to see a movie because he's in it. His two recent films, Dog and The Lost City, have been quite successful without being associated with a comic book or a franchise.
by Anonymous | reply 127 | April 15, 2022 3:59 PM |
I think the sheltered, shut-in queens on here don't realize how much Channing Tatum appeals to the masses. He's the archetype of a mainstream, masculine straight bro. Not that DLers ever have any contact with men like this, but he's very identifiable for a huge number of the American public.
by Anonymous | reply 128 | April 15, 2022 4:01 PM |
Channing Tatum makes a shit ton off of those films, as he finances them. He made it a brand, with the successful Magic Mike Live in Vegas and London, and a reality show. They’re also making it into a Broadway show.

Remember when she played 'Beloved'? I read one review where they said it was the most ridiculous performance they'd ever seen from a professional actress. She turned that shit into high camp. Oprah was solid because she is a solid actress, Danny Glover fine in his own way, and Kimberly Elise was actually very good. Thandiwee fuckin stunk up the joint big time.
by Anonymous | reply 131 | April 15, 2022 5:05 PM |
That Sun report was not a good idea. No one is listening to the narrative of the “crazy black woman” right now, and with good reason. Whoever initially put that out there needs to be fired and driven out of the business. The idea that Thandiwe is a “diva” is misogynist bullshit, and Channing firing her because they got in a fight on set about the Chris Rock debacle is a TERRIBLE look for Tatum, and he’s got a nice guy image to protect. I seriously doubt this is what actually happened, more like some racist misogynistic Sun reporter wanted clicks.
At any rate, of course the studio and producers immediately pushed back and said the Sun report was a lie, as they should.

Put Thandiwe‘s season of Line Of Duty next to those of Lennie James, Keeley Hawes, Stephen Graham and Daniel Mays. It simply isn’t on the same level and her one-note psycho performance is much of the reason.
and then was dropped from the sequel because Tatum hated him.
Alex Pettyfer has talked about this in depth and to his credit admits his wrong doing.
Apparently Channing never wanted him but Soderbergh did.
He got along with Channing enough to rent a place from one of Channing's friends after they were done with the initial shoot.
He stiffed the friend on four months rent, Channing got involved and he had words for him.
When they came back for reshoots, that's when everyone openly disliked him because Channing made it known he didn't at that point.
So it's possible they would have had him back if not for him stiffing Channing's friend on four months rent and also him telling Channing off.

r10, Thats because some people never miss an oppurtunity to virtue signal especially if they deemed themselves educated or successful. And yes I'm talking about my fellow black people. In some eyes, Will Smith is more important because he's the bigger star, received the Oscar that night and is now banned for 10 years, yadadayaya.
However MOSt black people, hell people in general I talked too agree that shit was batshit crazy what Will Smith did. I don't want his career to be ruined forvever, but brother needs some therapy and maybe a cool down from the spotlight for a while. However in this case we don't know who took what position. Channing has a working relationship with Jada from the past film. He may have very well been the defender. We just don't know. Remember Will Smith received a standing ovation after he slap the shit out of Chris Rock after all.

He has my sympathies- it can't have been easy to have been in lockdown with her the whole time while she was increasingly going off the deep end.
To those commenting about how she's a hypocrite because she dates white guys, consider: I'm mixed race myself and have noticed that a lot of people gravitate to the race of their opposite sex parent ( if hetero- if LGBTQ it's likely to be the same sex parent).
It's actually very, very predictable once you become aware of the pattern. Thandie's dad was white therefore = she's attracted to white men.

r160, I don't agree with that at all about the opposite sex parent thing, as I know plenty of people who contradict what you are saying. I think in her case she's british, and they are not as caught up on race, especially when it comes to dating, as Americans. Mixed race brits tend to date white people because there are more white people.
by Anonymous | reply 167 | April 17, 2022 3:47 PM |
I wasn't talking about the race/parents thing as a social construct. I'm saying it's about much more about imprinting and the *science* of attraction. People are often attracted to to the phenotype of one of their parents (often the opposite sex parent but obviously not always) and seek to replicate those visual qualities in a mate. This also happens in non mixed families.....where, for instance, the daughter will marry a guy who looks quite a bit like her father. But in the case of mixed race adults, the preference then becomes a bit more...obvious and easy to observe.
For many, this is all happening on an unconscious level. But look at a bunch of mixed (not just black/white Americans- it could be any mix or nationality) and you do start to see a pattern. There are always exceptions, of course, but....

It would have been more professional for him to say, "I don't want to talk about this," and ignore her completely. She would have gotten the hint and if she didn't, leave it to the studio to talk to her.
If she was otherwise professional, it's silly to waste time and money on firing her because of that.

Give or take a couple of years, Thandiwe is the same age as Kate Winslet, Kate Beckinsale, Cate Blanchett, Toni Collete, Naomi Watts, Nicole Kidman, Amy Adams, Hillary Swank and Olivia Colman.
Regardless of how you perceive her acting ability, how many of the other actresses' big roles would a mixed race woman have been cased in?
Take Olivia Colman's recent roles. The Lost Daughter could have been played by Thandiwe but then Jessie Buckley would have needed to be recast. She could have played Colman's role in The Father, but then Olivia Williams' role would have needed to be recast. A black Queen Anne? Maybe in Bridgerton but not in The Favourite. The Crown? No. Hyde Park On Hudson? No.
Then there are all the period dramas. Thandiwe's done period dramas. She was a slave in Jefferson In Paris, another slave in Beloved. Could she have played Kate Winslet's roles in Titanic, Sense & Sensibility, Finding Neverland, Quills, Iris, The Reader, Revolutionary Road or Steve Jobs? Eternal Sunshine yes, Hideous Kinky yes, Little Children yes. The Holiday? Recast Jude Law, Mildred Pierce? Recast Evan Rachel Wood. Mare Of Easttown? Yeah, Jean Smart could have married a black man, and recast the actors who played her kids and give the storyline a racial dynamic.
by Anonymous | reply 184 | April 18, 2022 7:56 PM |
This is Thandiwe talking about John Duigan:
The #MeToo theme running through Westworld is unmistakable, and this is where it gets personal for Newton, who tells me she was sexually abused as a young actress by the director of her first film. Flirting was an Australian coming-of-age drama that also starred a young Nicole Kidman. The writer and director was John Duigan. He was 39 at the time. Newton was 16 and straight out of a Catholic girls’ school in Cornwall run by nuns. In other words, she was not a worldly young woman and the shoot was in Australia, a long way from home. “It happened the night my father flew home. I was 16, and a virgin. I’d been psychologically groomed over weeks. I didn’t fight him off, I was almost paralysed with fear. It was sexual abuse.”
A Catholic education had taught her to feel shame and it came in buckets. It’s a testament to her drive that she managed to finish school and read social anthropology at Cambridge while pursuing her acting career. However, she was traumatised by what had happened and suffered from bulimia. To make matters worse, she had endured another horrific incident when she was 18 during a casting session with a male director. “I’d been called back for a second audition. The director asked me to sit with my legs apart; the camera was positioned where it could see up my skirt. He asked me to put my leg over the arm of the chair and think about the character I was supposed to be having the dialogue with and how it felt to be made love to by this person. He was a director. I was still very young and thought it must be normal.”
A few years later Newton, who by that time was married, went to the Cannes film festival with her husband. The two of them found themselves in conversation with a very drunk British producer who sheepishly admitted to having seen the audition tape. Her horrified husband forced him to explain. Apparently the director used the video of her touching herself to entertain guests during late-night parties.
Newton felt violated all over again. One of the things that made her feel particularly angry was that the casting director, an older woman, was also in the room during the audition. At the time her presence made the young actress feel as though what she was being asked to do by the director was normal. Now she wonders: “Why didn’t she intervene and protect me?”

Viola Davis talked about this. Thandiwe and Halle Berry are traditionally beautiful by Hollywood standards. They're considered attractive enough to be "the girl" - Halle was cast in Die Another Day after her Oscar and Thandiwe auditioned for the Eva Green role in Casino Royale and was in Mission Impossible 2.
Halle, Thandwie and Zoe Saldana have all been criticised for not being black enough - Halle was too pale in Monster's Ball, Thandiwe was too pale for Beloved, Zoe was too pale as Nina Simone.

Halle is worse than Meegan because at least Meegan is nice for a second. Halle would be like "This pap just touched me what the fuck are you gonna do?"
Halle Berry is the black actress equivalent of Hayden Panettiere in terms of loving fist fights and drama and all that shit. But Halle has that Oscar so of course she still does the direct to Netflix shit. Hayden is like TMZ fodder now. But same person.

R198 Halle's Oscar was the peak of her career. It's been all downhill since then, and quite a rapid drop. She has never matched the critical success of "Monster's Ball," and much of that movie's praise was for its writing rather than for her performance specifically. Look at what she's been making and doing since then. Nothing worth a goddamn.
I know all about the post-Oscar doldrums. It can be a career-killer at any age.

What roles could a mixed race actress be cast in, post Monster's Ball?
Look at the best actress nomination performances - exclude the period dramas and biopics in the next 10 years there's Unfaithful, 21 Grams, Million Dollar Baby, Eternal Sunshine, Little Children, Rachel Getting Married, The Savages, The Kids Are All Right and Rabbit Hole.
If Halle was cast in The Kids Are All Right then whichever child she gave birth to (Mia Wasikowska or Josh Henderson) would have had to be recast and if she'd been cast in Rabbit Hole then Tammy Blanchard would have to be recast - Dianne Weist can stay as it's conceivable she could be Halle's mother. Recast Phillip Seymour Hoffman for The Savages and recast Rosemarie DeWitt and either Bill Irwin or Debra Winger in Rachel Getting Married.
So out of 50 movies there's around 5 a non white actress could fit into easily without other actors being recast.

Nooo, Timothy Hutton, we still um, sorta remember you? Please don't leave us. Kinda before my time by like 5 years but he was hot. He's still ok for 61.
But yeah, that's true. That's a downhill career after an Oscar winner if i've ever seen one. Also the 10 domestic violence calls didn't help. FYI to everyone - the Canadian no name model actually won temp. custody for like the first few months over her. Imagine how crazy you are to lose your rights as a mother AND OSCAR WINNER. The model was raising her child first like months but now it's 50/50 because she agreed to pay him but still. Imagine for a no name mother, then you're Halle Berry with 40 mil in the bank and you lose to a no name Canadian runway model. Crazy Meegan.

There are still great roles for mixed-race actresses. And if there's not? She can use her clout as a recent Oscar winner to produce good movies. She can start her own production company, like Reese did, or start a first-look deal with a major studio.
The main thing separating an ordinary actor who just happens to win one award, and an icon who wins many awards and shapes the industry, is the willingness to take charge - first of one's own career (by only taking great parts), and later of the industry itself (by producing/growing great projects). Halle Berry could've had her choice of parts after the Oscar win. She still probably does. She's still Halle Berry. But she doesn't seem to want it badly enough.
Halle Berry could've had her choice of parts after the Oscar win. She still probably does
So name them. Which roles should she have been cast in? And which casting changes would have been made to accommodate a mixed race actress instead of a white actress?
by Anonymous | reply 203 | April 19, 2022 2:11 PM |
I didn't even know Halle was considered mixed-race. Yes Hollywood has been racist for a century but I mean hire Zoe Saldana over Halle please. Hire Zoe Kravitz over Halle. Literally anyone over her. Thandiwe after 5 years of rehab hire her back. No, I can't with Halle or Jada. Those 2 are the worst.
2 Meegans, not the Stallions.
It's also not fair R200 to point out the most white movies of the past 10 years. I mean those were all lesbian white girl movies. Halle coulda produced something. Don't make it a race thing. This isn't Reddit. It's not a race thing. It's a bitch thing.
by Anonymous | reply 204 | April 19, 2022 2:14 PM |
Given the inclusive casting that occurs now, where Tilda Swinton and Jet Li could have Megan Thee Stallion as a child, Halle Berry was too early with her Oscar win, apparently.
by Anonymous | reply 205 | April 19, 2022 2:14 PM |
I think r205 is funny only because with the rules now, I wouldn't bet against that casting. It's like, actually possible.

R207 you can fuck off too, that is not someone I follow her born history and parents. I just know the gossip and shit that went down. I just googled and you're right. She's biracial. My Bad. Sorry I don't follow every celebs parents skin colors, but it's fine. I'll just say everyone is non binary and non racial to placate every person with a trigger on here since it's becoming Reddit 2.0.
Nobody is any color and nobody is any gender, thank you and here's Salma Hayek cashing in on another white stripper movie. Enjoy.

For someone raised in another country, she sure has detailed and colorful opinions about racism in America.
Also: Her new name is pronounced "Tan-DEE-way." It's her exotic middle name. Her first name is actually Melanie.

I know I'm going to get shit for saying this but Trump had a point with NATO. I don't mean with withdrawing from NATO because that's just stupid. But he was right to shine a light on how Europe's commitment to the alliance was a lot of lip service.
And given Germany's dependency on Russian oil and gas...I do wonder if they would have come to any member's aid if Russia had gone for a member country. How do you remain true to the alliance when you're in bed with the reason why the alliance was formed? Let's hope Putin doesn't test this because I think the outcome will be both disappointing and eye-opening.

After some entertainers make a pile of $$$ and get used to the luxury lifestyle, it makes them lazy. They're not hungry anymore and they enjoy being rich and privileged. That can sap a person's creative energy.
Plus she's hardly the first actor or actress to have their name misspelled either in their first film or 20 years into their career. It's actually shockingly common.
Dionne Warwick's real name is Dionne Warrick. There was a printing error on the label of her very first record, so Warrick was spelled as Warwick and Dionne decided to keep the name.
Halle Berry is the black actress equivalent of Hayden Panettiere in terms of loving fist fights and drama and all that shit. But Halle has that Oscar so of course she still does the direct to Netflix shit. Hayden is like TMZ fodder now. But same person.
Last i checked Halle also doesn’t have disgusting parents like Hayden does.
She ruined Oliver Martinez's film career not to mention the nice Canadian model guy. FOR NO REASON. Halle is as batshit crazy as Jada.
To be fair, Halle's issue is that she was attracted to a certain kind of guy.
She didn't make Eric Benet cheat on her with every woman he crossed.
Wesley Snipes "busted her eardrum" not according to her but according to another ex-Christopher Williams. She's has never personally said who did it.
She didn't make Gabriel and Olivier fist fight each other, ending up with both of them in the hospital and Gabriel's face messed up.
Her relationship with her ex husband Olivier doesn't seem as volatile as it is with Gabriel Aubrey post divorce as the pair also dragged their feet finalizing every part of it for years.
Hopefully she has finally grown out of that with her current boyfriend.
While I believe she is crazy balls her issue is picking the wrong people for her to date.

Thandie is a borderline. She's nuts like Rose McGowan, and about as talented. I wouldn't have her anywhere near my project.

Thandy was quite open about having to fuck her way past the casting couch to get her first roles, but became a vigilant MeToo harpy once it became convenient to do so.
She owes a portion of her career to a good old-fashioned suck job!
by Anonymous | reply 218 | April 20, 2022 1:16 PM |
Did she ever suck any black cocks on the way up or just the white ones? Like a lot of these race-obsessed cunts, she's married to a white person.

Well, she talked openly about her casting couch experiences but also has complained bitterly and openly about them since the Beloved era. She was earnestly MeToo before there was a MeToo.
He behaviour now is completely in character.

Steven Soderbergh Says Rumour Thandiwe Newton Was Fired From ‘Magic Mike 3’ Over On-Set Fight With Channing Tatum Is Not ‘Accurate
Soderbergh, who directed all three "Magic Mike" movies, is insisting that account of events is inaccurate.
“Nothing I ever saw [reported] was accurate, and there’s really no upside for anybody involved in litigating this or excavating it, because I consider it private,” Soderbergh told Variety.
“Everything I saw publicly was wrong. It was just… I don’t think anybody sees any benefit in running through this publicly," he added. "It becomes something you can’t control. Right now, to keep it private means all of us can control it, and I think that’s where it should sit for the time being.”
