Debbie Harry and Kermit the Frog singing "The Rainbow Connection"

I never realized how pretty Debbie was.

And she has a very nice voice too.

You never realized that Debbie was a knockout? Are you Helen Keller? It's ALWAYS ALWAYS been part of her persona and fame! Sheesh!

So cute and sweet. Takes me back to when I was a kid. I watched that show every week. That song makes me tear up.

by Anonymousreply 4April 13, 2022 1:06 AM

She'd have been about 35 when that was filmed. She really did look amazing.

by Anonymousreply 5April 13, 2022 1:09 AM

I love all her stuff, but this one has special meaning to me.

I like Debbie Harry but we've had 4 or 5 Debbie Harry threads in three months time, is another one or is it a Muppet Show thread?

How about Patti Labelle on Sesame Street?

That face has an amazing geometry to it. She also takes great care of her skin. I have seen her up close fairly often, and she usually looks dewy, like she has exfoliated and used a really, really expensive lightweight moisturizer. I notice people tend to leave her alone and she stays pretty quiet in crowds. She has a pragmatic awareness of her looks, admits she was born with a great face, and she used it to great advantage. Yet she is also a really talented singer who took a lot of risks. She’s a cool old broad, a friend to those us who live outside of culture’s boundaries.

Debbie had (has?) BEAUTIFUL skin. Stunning.

by Anonymousreply 13April 13, 2022 4:41 AM

Still a knockout.

I would like not to hear that frog’s voice ever again.

by Anonymousreply 16April 13, 2022 6:40 AM

I love Debbie’s 100% commitment to this that Kermit is alive and real.

Blondie is going on tour again but the only reason I would go to the show is because The Damned is the opening act. I saw Blondie several times decades ago and while Debbie still looked great then, the same cannot be said now. She has had so much plastic surgery she looks like a different person - an old lady in her late 70s with wrinkly knees like an elephant. Sad.

I'm so curious who her biological parents were and if they were knockouts too.

(She was adopted and tried to reconnect with her bio mother later in life but was rebuffed.)

by Anonymousreply 19April 13, 2022 7:14 AM

R6 I love that song and haven't heard it in a long time. Thank you.

Love Blondie. Debbie was gorgeous and had beautiful sensual voice.

Another thing I loved about Blondie was Jimmy Destri, the keyboardist. Stunner.

Debbie Harry was good at comedy too.

This scene is a motherfucking classic!

Hey! You!

Can I ask you a personal question?

Is your daughter mulatto?

ROFL!

Speaking of Debbie and comedy, she hosted Saturday Night Live in the infamously bad 1980-81 season.

Her episode wasn't bad, though, and Debbie was great, especially compared to today's SNL hosts who spend the entire time reading cue cards. She was in almost every sketch and played a bunch of characters (in addition to being the musical guest).
