Remember their endless farewell in the early '90s, when Naomi was said to be so ill? On TV shows, they'd bring Wynonna out by herself to start that "Love Can Build A Bridge" song, and she would be the only one announced to perform. Then there would be the "surprise" of Naomi's voice singing her lines, and she'd emerge to take her place next to Wynonna. The stupid audience would gasp every time, and then cheer this display of a mother's devotion to music and to her daughter in the face of grave illness. Like it wasn't, you know, the fourth time that month that this had happened on some show.

Oh, I know r4. They milked it for all its worth. Or the "final concert" where Wy and Naomi would constantly look at each other and try to croak out tears and then turn to the camera at opportune times to give the sad look. So nauseating.

I thought they already had a farewell tour where it came out they nearly tried to kill each other behind the scenes with their anger issues.

They had a a TV show in 2011 as the cameras followed them for the last reunion. Naomi behaved as if she was drugged all the time.... it was great.

Many years ago there was a show on I think NBC called Hot Country Nights. Through a friend’s connection I used to go to the tapings every week as an audience member. One week the Judds were the special guests and the show was billed as “the final network appearance by the Judds” as Naomi had already announced her retirement due to her health issues. They performed Love Can Build a Bridge and I swear it took well over an hour to get through it. Winona would keep choking up and had to stop. At first it was a little touching, but then it got to be just fucking annoying. They were a few times where they made it through 90% of the song and then she stopped. You could practically hear the audience groan. I will say that Naomi kept the audience going with her comic relief each time Winona would stop. She was legit funny, cracking jokes to keep the mood light.

I don't think anyone should go to jail for drugs....but this DL thread inspired me to check news on the Judds and found this! Wynonna's daughter has been in and out of jail several times for meth.

I saw Wynonna in concert about 5 years ago. She was appearing at a casino near our vacation house. I've always gotten a kick out of the crazy-ass Judds so we bought tickets.

One of the most ridiculous experiences ever. Her fans are crazed. One sitting next to me brought a portable air-conditioner to the show. I've never seen anything like it...it was smaller than a window unit but pretty big and she plugged it in by tearing out an electrical strip buried in the carpet. Her husband held the thing pointed at her for the entire show.

Then Wynonna appeared. She had no idea where she was---had to ask her band. Completely phoned in the performance--clearly didn't want to be there.

We left mid-way. We collected plenty of fodder from her insane fans, but the show was so dull we split.

Two of the craziest fangirls I've met are drunken redneck lesbians who'd probably break a beer bottle on a bar counter and threaten anyone who talked shit about the Judds. As far as I can tell they give zero shits about Naomi, it's all about "Wy."

In the world of country you get some really good acts on the fair circuit. I saw Leann Rimes, Gary Allen and Martina McBride in the past few years. Take it they're not still making hit songs but they're great artists. Sorry Steve Grande you'll have to stick to gay pride events and trips to India with Aaron.
