How many people, inn the USA, get hit in the head by golf balls?

As well as injuries to the body, each year an estimated 40,000 golfers seek emergency treatment due to head injuries caused by errant golf balls

Maybe they should wear some sort of a football helmet?

I remember the Six Feet Under season 1 finale (?) where it looks like the death victim will be a golfer who's having chest pains, but it ends up being a little old lady, sitting in her backyard, who gets hit in the head from the golfer's golf ball.

I walk on a trail that lies underneath a hilly golf course, & am paranoid about getting hit in the head by a wayward ball. Although the golfer would have to be REALLY bad to hit it that far off course.

r5 I remember that episode too! It made me afraid of golf courses. I didn't watch much Six Feet Under after that because the opening vignettes where someone is killed were too disturbing.

About 80,000 people are admitted into emergency rooms after tripping over their pets. I looked this up after I nearly tripped over a new kitty rescue. She followed me everywhere. I turned around from dusting the mantel and she was right behind me at my feet. If I didn't recover from the trip, I would have fallen into a very heavy glass and metal coffee table. If I was elderly, I probably would have. Unsurprisingly, the majority of those ER cases are 70+.

My cat just walks super slowly in front of me, to show dominance (so I have read).

Spray them with water or rattle a plastic shopping bag like one would do in the middle ages to clear the way for lepers.

Cats can be trained.

Also, give them convenient and out of the way places to sit where they can oversee your progress in the kitchen without tramping underfoot. A chair it shelf is ideal.

Couldn't they have just wrapped up the leper's sores with the plastic?

I used to live across the street from a golf course. Dents in the cars and all. But it was fun to sit on the porch during a thunderstorm and watch the lightning bolts hit the grounds.

What about miniature golf balls?
