3rd Rock From Sun Cast - Did Any Move On To Better Things?

Watching reruns of 3rd Rock From Sun other night and got to wondering if any of the cast really went onto something better afterwards.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt seems to have done best of lot. Kristen Johnston, French Stewart, Simbi Khali, and Ian Lithgow OTOH....

by Anonymousreply 145April 5, 2022 8:32 PM

That show was insipid.

by Anonymousreply 1March 30, 2022 11:29 PM

Are you kidding? Look up Lithgow's Wikipedia entry. He's highly respected and acclaimed.

Johnson seems only to be remembered for falling out of a window in her one-episode stint on Sex and the City, which is too bad. She's funny. She's sort of like a white Leslie Jones, just so big and loud and brash you can't help laughing.

French Stewart was so odd in that show.

by Anonymousreply 2March 30, 2022 11:40 PM

Both Lithgow and Curtain were approaching 60 when the show ended which tends to lead to fewer opportunities, although Lithgow has worked pretty steadily and been able to a variety of things with some good reviews. Curtain has worked a fair amount considering she is an older female in a youth-oriented industry. I wonder if there is some point you would rather not have the grind of being a lead in a weekly show, especially if you have had a fairly long career and are doing ok financially.

Wasn't Johnson on Mom's the last few years of the show? I feel like she shows up from time to time, but you don't always realize who it is at the time.

I enjoyed the show when I watched it, but never really sought it out. It was one that an episode here and there was enough. It could be dumb, but the cast seemed to be enthusiastic and elevated the material - as odd as it could be at times.

by Anonymousreply 3March 30, 2022 11:46 PM

French Stewart had a funny role in "Mom" as an obnoxious restaurant manager. Kristen Stewart also became a regular on the show, and the two appeared in a few scenes together.

by Anonymousreply 4March 30, 2022 11:46 PM

I hate it

by Anonymousreply 5March 30, 2022 11:47 PM

Jane Curtain periodically pops up as a skeptical judge on The Good Fight.

Sally scored some hot boyfriends. Mr. Randall (John D'Aquino) was one...

Just looked up Jane *Curtin*, on IMDb. She seems to have one of those careers common to jobbing television actors.

Ms. Curtin gets probably more work than many would believe, and has done so steadily since her SNL days.

3rd Rock From Sun long since entered into syndication which means some sort of steady income for main ensemble cast.

Totally forgot Kirsten Johnston did a stint on ER.

by Anonymousreply 9March 31, 2022 12:07 AM

Kristen has definitely worked after 3rd Rock, she was the woman who fell out the window on SATC, think she was in few episodes of Julia Louis-Dreyfus series The New Adventures of Old Christine and then her last TV series role I recall, she became a regular on Mom.

French Stewart was also a regular on Mom. IIRC, he was the main chef at the restaurant where one of the main characters worked.

Simbi Khali seems to have fallen off the planet.

by Anonymousreply 10March 31, 2022 12:09 AM

The entire cast has worked frequently since TRFTS ended, twat OP. 🖕

by Anonymousreply 11March 31, 2022 12:10 AM

Not sure what happened to John Lithgow's son Ian Lithgow, he played one of Dick's students.

by Anonymousreply 12March 31, 2022 12:11 AM

I loved 3rd Rock, mostly for Lithgow but also Jan Hooks as the trashy landlord’s daughter and Ileen Getz as the other faculty member. I did hate Wayne Knight’s character; looking at him on Seinfeld was more than enough. . It must have been hell for Kristen to make out with him all the time. She was a major alcoholic and pill head, she almost died from a burst ulcer. I think she was recently diagnosed with lupus.

by Anonymousreply 13March 31, 2022 12:11 AM

I enjoyed Ileen Getz on the show as well and was sad to see she had passed in 2005.

by Anonymousreply 14March 31, 2022 12:15 AM

Don't forget William Shatner's tour de force performance as Big Giant Head.

by Anonymousreply 15March 31, 2022 12:19 AM

John Lithgow has never not worked.

by Anonymousreply 16March 31, 2022 12:24 AM

I liked Third Rock, but then I am a bit of a silly.

Lithgow was great in season 4 of Dexter. You could look it up.

by Anonymousreply 17March 31, 2022 12:27 AM

[quote]Simbi Khali seems to have fallen off the planet.

Simbi Khali was married to Cress Williams aka the CWs "Black Lightning" for years. So while she may not have been working much she was definitely getting dicked down.

by Anonymousreply 18March 31, 2022 12:32 AM

After 3rd Rock, Jan Hooks turned into a recluse at her cottage in Upstate NY, where she spent the remaining years of her life drinking and smoking herself to death. Sad story.

by Anonymousreply 19March 31, 2022 12:35 AM

Only remember Cress Williams from Living Single, wow how time passes.

by Anonymousreply 20March 31, 2022 12:41 AM

The French Stewart character was the worst. It would have been a great ensemble cast without him. He's a better actor than he displayed on TRFTS. I cringe when I watch him on the show now.

by Anonymousreply 21March 31, 2022 12:43 AM

Passed Kirsten Johnston several years ago on 12th street near University Place.

Tall, taaaaall girl. Woman could hunt geese with a rake.

by Anonymousreply 22March 31, 2022 12:44 AM

French Stewart character (Harry) always gave off a gay vibe with some of his mannerisms. Also why was he always squinting?

by Anonymousreply 23March 31, 2022 12:45 AM

I loved that show and crushed so hard on JGL as a kid. I ran into him once on the street in NYC (before he stated doing movies) and we cruised so hard. Now, it’s hard for me to watch his films because he seems like such a fake. But then , I guess most actors are.

by Anonymousreply 24March 31, 2022 12:46 AM

[quote]we cruised so hard.

No idea what that means. You both looked for sex? You had sex together? And why would he seem fake now?

by Anonymousreply 25March 31, 2022 12:51 AM

r25 if you were an actually a gay male you would know what that means.

by Anonymousreply 26March 31, 2022 12:57 AM

i never watched it when it was on tv in the 90's. I think it's a great show. The supermodel episode is so funny

by Anonymousreply 27March 31, 2022 1:07 AM

Yes, Ileen Getz left us far too soon.

Cress has worked steadily over the years. He was on Grey's before Black Lightning and 90210.

by Anonymousreply 29March 31, 2022 10:59 AM

I'm convinced I saw JGL in full and elaborate leather drag on the subway one night going into Brooklyn.

by Anonymousreply 30March 31, 2022 11:09 AM

That hugely obese blonde girl was funny on "Mom".

by Anonymousreply 31March 31, 2022 11:11 AM

3rd Rock was brilliant as was the ensemble cast

by Anonymousreply 32March 31, 2022 11:12 AM

Yes. That fat blonde became a planet with its own gravitational pull.

by Anonymousreply 33March 31, 2022 11:18 AM

I never cared much for the show, but John Lithgow's utter commitment to the insanity of his character was fantastic to watch.

by Anonymousreply 34March 31, 2022 11:29 AM

She has lupus.

Her face reminds me of Kelly Clarkson's. It must be a Scandinavian set of features (guessing by their names). An African friend of mine once told me that a lot of Scandinavian people look like African people with pale skin and hair.

She also kind of looks like Amy Schumer.

I wonder how many famous people have such broad noses before their nose jobs.

One of my favorite sitcoms ever- hilarious

by Anonymousreply 37March 31, 2022 11:40 AM

Scandinavian people look like African people with pale skin and hair? That has to be one of the dumbest things that's been posted on DL in the past week. Of course Johnston has Scandinavian roots, she's from Wisconsin. Clarkson is from Texas, she's of British and Irish ancestry.

by Anonymousreply 38March 31, 2022 11:45 AM

^ I'm from Wisconsin, this place is lousy with pudgy Scandinavians

by Anonymousreply 39March 31, 2022 12:00 PM

R38 Clarkson sounds like a Scandinavian name since it ends in -son, but I guess Clark was an occupational name (clerk), which is a British naming convention, while Johnson is a Scandinavian naming convention for "John's son."

They still resemble one another to me.

If one can put up with tons of commercial breaks OTA stations like COZI have 3rd Rock, Will and Grace, Amen, Columbo, McMillan & Wife among others. Again you have to put up with far more commercial breaks than even when shows first ran on network television. I just don't have that kind of patience....

Getting "dicked down" by Scooter from "Living Single" sure isn't the same as collecting a nice fat paycheck while appearing in a steady TV series.

Simbi's last TV gig was in 2017, a one time appearance as a museum directer on "Better Things".

Before Third Rock, JGL was on The Powers That Be (very dark sitcom) with Niles Crane, Blake Carrington, and Holland Taylor. ❀

by Anonymousreply 47March 31, 2022 8:51 PM

Joseph Gordon Levitt did really well for himself. He looked really hot around the time of Inception, too. Still handsome.

by Anonymousreply 48March 31, 2022 8:55 PM

Kristen was also on a long running TV Land sitcom called The Exes. She works all the time.

by Anonymousreply 49March 31, 2022 8:57 PM

I liked Simbi Khali but she’s no Khandi Alexander

by Anonymousreply 50March 31, 2022 9:18 PM

Khandi Alexander is no Viola Davis, that's for sure.

by Anonymousreply 51March 31, 2022 9:26 PM

I think Joseph Gordon Levitt will be great as Carson, same body type, same general look. He also has done enough comedy that the pace and timing of Carson should be easy for him. I might watch it even if I'm not much of a Carson fan

by Anonymousreply 52March 31, 2022 9:46 PM

JGL's "chinky eyes" as they say are disgusting. He has squintier eyes than most Chinese.

by Anonymousreply 53April 1, 2022 12:33 AM

I had such a huge crush on JGL at the time. Was very excited when he went on to play a gay character on an episode of That 70s Show.

by Anonymousreply 54April 1, 2022 2:52 AM

I loved that show. It was very funny. Lithgow was hilarious. As was the tall girl. And the geeky guy. I lvoe that they were willing to make complete fools of themselves especially Lithgow.

by Anonymousreply 55April 1, 2022 2:59 AM

OP, since leaving the show, Lithgow has won an Emmy and a Screen Actors Guild Award for playing Churchill on "The Crown," a Tony for "Sweet Smell of Success," and he has also been nominated for four Grammys.

by Anonymousreply 56April 1, 2022 3:07 AM

Lithgow played Churchill on The Crown and starred in the first season of the sadly canceled Trial & Error.

by Anonymousreply 57April 1, 2022 3:07 AM

The show would not have worked nearly so well without Jane Curtin to be so hilariously horrified by everything Lithgow did that was odd.

by Anonymousreply 58April 1, 2022 3:08 AM

John Lithgow could have been Frasier Crane!

by Anonymousreply 59April 1, 2022 3:32 AM

Reading this thread it strikes me that Lithgow is one of those actors that everyone knows is amazing when reminded he exists. Great character actors are the real artists that way, you forget that they are not the person in the story you are immersed in but an actor you've seen in 15 other things (if you are old like me). Meanwhile the ones who've been crowned 'stars' just play themselves in everything.

by Anonymousreply 60April 1, 2022 3:45 AM

Lithgow also did a fantastic job in the first season of "Perry Mason" last year.

by Anonymousreply 61April 1, 2022 3:52 AM

[quote] but John Lithgow's utter commitment to the insanity of his character was fantastic to watch.

This is what I loved about the show.

by Anonymousreply 62April 1, 2022 5:00 AM

I really liked his season of Trial&Error more than the Kristin Chenoweth season.

I’ve never seen French Stewart in anything other than this show. I just had to check to confirm he’s still alive and was stunned at the long list of IMDB credits he has.

by Anonymousreply 64April 1, 2022 5:37 AM

Third Rock's insanity was brilliant and hilarious. I was especially impressed how JGL broke the usual mediocre child actor mode and actually stand his ground with the rest of the cast.

R66 almost like he was ACTING, playing a CHARACTER.

by Anonymousreply 67April 1, 2022 8:29 AM

R58 if you watch long enough, you see that Jane Curtin’s character is just as much of a weirdo as John Lithgow’s, that’s why they’re so perfect for each other.

by Anonymousreply 68April 1, 2022 8:30 AM

About 25 years ago (yikes!!) I went to a matinee of the touring company of “How to succeed in business without really trying” at the Pantages in Hollywood. It is a beautiful theater but dark and old. Anyway - John Lithgow was there with his family. HE Was really handsome in person - he was easily a head or more taller than everyone around. He looked like “money” - you know - healthy, groomed, easygoing. I think he is talented but like I said - surprised that he was such a handsome guy.
.. Years earlier when I worked awards shows Howard Keel ( the Dallas years) had that same tall healthy outdoorsy look when he was in a tux.

PS Ralph Macchio was the lead in HTSWRT - I have no memory of his performance.

by Anonymousreply 69April 1, 2022 8:59 AM

I saw John Lithgow's one-man show, Stories by Heart in NYC a number of years ago. I know he's a terrific actor on TV (incredibly varied roles), knew he had extensive stage credits as well, but to be on stage in a Broadway house, by yourself, for two acts, telling stories? That's a whole different level of confidence in one's acting.

He was amazing. I wish I had seen the show more than the one matinee.

If the performance was filmed and is available to watch, do it.

by Anonymousreply 70April 1, 2022 10:32 AM

He gave a funny speech when he won his third Emmy for playing Dick, and pretty much called out actors who looked down on his performance. The reaction shots show a couple of his fellow nominees seem to have been among them - Reiser and Fox look pissed.

[quote]Third Rock's insanity was brilliant and hilarious. I was especially impressed how JGL broke the usual mediocre child actor mode and actually stand his ground with the rest of the cast.

That's because JGL's character was NOT supposed to be a child. If you followed the characters backstory, JGL's character was actually older that Lithgow's character! Did you ever listen to their dialog and how JGL would always tell Lithgow how much older he was?

The Big Giant Head, or whoever chose their human bodies, wanted JGL's alien to be a child.

Sally was not a female alien, but that's what was chosen for her. Remember how amazed she was by her body?

by Anonymousreply 74April 1, 2022 7:00 PM

Great clip R71 . [quote]Reiser and Fox look pissed.

I completely forgot about Spin City. That is one show that does not seem to have made the syndication rounds much. If I remember correctly, it was not bad but nothing that really stands out. either, except maybe Ferris Bueller's best friend.

by Anonymousreply 75April 1, 2022 7:36 PM

The only logical fallacy that sticks out to me is why they’re so horny for humans. You’d think they’d be repulsed by the human body since it probably looks nothing like them?

by Anonymousreply 76April 1, 2022 9:36 PM

R76 Well, their bodies were still physiologically and biologically responsive to sex. So i guess they had the same human feelings and for other humans.

by Anonymousreply 77April 1, 2022 10:05 PM

R76

You're forgetting those "aliens" are experiencing for first time the pleasure that comes from sexual relations. As you yourself stated, they have human bodies and they are fully functional in every way.

That Sally who could have had any man she wanted went with Don tells me he knew what buttons to push....

Dr. Liam Neesam had no problems doing Dr. Mary Albright. Big Giant Head was totally into Harry's gf Vicki, even got her knocked up.

One of first things Tommy says in early episodes was that his face was greasy and had a rocket in his pants.

Aliens in 3rd Rock weren't like those from Cocoon, there those beings couldn't experience human sexual relations.

by Anonymousreply 78April 1, 2022 10:12 PM

I don't get the hate for French Stewart. He was hilarious on Third Rock. And very fuckable, too.

by Anonymousreply 79April 1, 2022 10:28 PM

^Hello French!

by Anonymousreply 80April 1, 2022 10:31 PM

William Shatner went on to get two Emmys for playing Denny Crane.

by Anonymousreply 81April 1, 2022 10:31 PM

Irony is while their human bodies functioned normally as any other (including crying, sex, etc...) things like empathy and other human emotions were totally alien (see what I did there?)

That of course is whole point of 3rd Rock, the aliens just don't understand humans and thus do things that seem logical to themselves, but annoying or insensitive to others. Mary Albright is forever calling Dick and "ass" because he does stupid shit as if he's experiencing things for first time. Which of course is true, but Mary cannot understand why or how a man old as Dick wouldn't have a clue.

Other night was the episode where Mary gets a highly coveted big office with huge bay window overlooking an apple tree. Dick only knows he wants Mary to remain in their office, and sets out to sabotage her good fortune. As usual Dick succeeds but things totally blow up in his face.

In some recent interviews Jane Curtin has discussed her time on three hit tv series (Third Rock, Kate and Allie, and SNL) and always says she enjoyed herself most on Third Rock. She seems to adore John Lithgow in particular. I have never watched much of Third Rock but Curtin seems as if she's doing her standard 'straight man' schtick to Lithgow's clown, not to dismiss it, because there are few people better at playing it straight than Curtin. With that said, I really feel that Kate and Allie was easily the best showcase for her comedic gifts, her character was so 'straight' that she became the clown. She was brilliant on the show and also seemed to enjoy it (and won two Emmys), but I think there was tenison between her and Susan St. James because Curtin kind of stole the show (and the awards and acclaim).

John Lithgow, and Alfred Molina portrayed a married couple forced to live apart in Ira Sachs’s drama “Love Is Strange.

Film is about a gay couple together for decades finally marry when SSM becomes legal, and the consequences along with repercussions which follow.

For those who didn't see film, won't give away spoilers, but it was a touching reminder that just because gay marriage became legal, it didn't follow that everyone was happy with that fact, nor totally eliminate discrimination.

Terrible 1990s s(h)itcom! đŸ€źđŸ€źđŸ€źđŸ–•â˜

by Anonymousreply 100April 2, 2022 2:23 AM

I have a nice Kristen Johnston story. She's a good-egg!

Back in the '90s, I was the special events coordinator at an entertainment venue which hosted a number of t.v. show wrap parties. 3rd Rock had two wrap parties there, in 1997 & 2000.

Typically, these parties were booked for 5-6 hours (five-hour minimum), but shows could extend them for another hour (at an additional cost, obviously), if the party was really hopping/going strong during that last hour. Some Production Coordinators had the authority to make that call, but usually, it had to be cleared with a producer.

Which was the case with 3rd Rock's season-two wrap party, in 1997.

The party was scheduled 8:00 pm -1:00 am. It was still JAMMING at 12:30, when an announcement was made on the P.A. for "last call". Kristen came flying out of the bar (where she was watching karaoke), to ask the show's production coordinator if the party could be extended til 2:00 am. Everyone was having such a great time, etc. French appeared and agreed -- keep the party going!

But the production coordinator's hands were tied. ALL of the producers had left by that point, and she couldn't approve the expenditure (it was before everyone had cell phones). John & Jane, whose opinion might have carried more weight, were also long-gone.

Kristen turned to me and said/asked: "I'll pay for it. How much?"

First time I'd ever seen that! She had a little sticker-shock, but I explained her options. Carsey-Werner had paid for an open bar, with top shelf stuff. She could keep the facility open, but go to a cash-bar for the last hour? She flatly refused that -- she'd pay for their drinks. "These people have worked way too hard! I don't want them to pay for anything!"

Yeah...she was drunk. But not obnoxiously, or sloppily drunk.....happily drunk! (if she was on something else, I wasn't aware of it). Her credit card was declined when we first ran it. She sheepishly admitted that she'd bought a bunch of new furniture the day prior, and gave us another card number which went through.

Carsey-Werner probably re-imbursed her afterwards, but still.....she didn't have to do that!

by Anonymousreply 101April 2, 2022 6:06 AM

^ How much did it cost her?

by Anonymousreply 102April 2, 2022 6:22 AM

Keeping on track of the aliens "not getting it", in same episode Tommy shows he as a decided flair for floral arrangement (brought out by doing flowers for Sally's wedding). His girl friend Amber tells Tommy about her uncle Ed in Florida who has a floral shop with his "business partner, Jasper", and still Tommy doesn't get it.

I want to say it was around $2,500? (it's been 25 years, mind you). It was $2000 for the facility (and entertainment) for that additional hour, but I don't remember what the bar tab was for that additional hour.

by Anonymousreply 107April 2, 2022 8:19 PM

R107 what’s that in 2022 dollars? $2,500 now for an hour at a venue and open bar doesn’t seem outrageous.

[quote]I completely forgot about Spin City. That is one show that does not seem to have made the syndication rounds much. If I remember correctly, it was not bad but nothing that really stands out. either, except maybe Ferris Bueller's best friend.

I recall around 2009 or 2010, reruns were aired for awhile on FX during morning hours. But, yeah Spin City isn't a show that's in constant syndication. 3rd Rock From The Sun seems to be off and on when it comes to syndication. I remember the mid 2000s, it aired on a couple of cable channels then disappeared for a long time. A couple of months ago, I saw IFC airing reruns.

by Anonymousreply 109April 3, 2022 2:48 AM

Spin City was on Pluto TV, not sure if that still holds.

Where syndication programs air and when is hugely complicated. Much of it comes down to who owns rights, and how much money they want for broadcasting episodes.

In many cases networks like NBC broadcast these vintage shows on their OTA stations (in this case COZI-TV), but it's obvious why; programs are chopped up to squeeze in tons of commercials which in turn pay for "free" viewing.

It's either that model or go with streaming which again isn't wholly free; someone has to pay somewhere otherwise programs wouldn't make it on air.

Recall reading something about MeTV and that owners were saying many studios or owners of older syndication programing have realized there's gold in them hills, and thus prices have gone up.

Personally would love for MeTV to ditch "Cannon", "Mannix" and rest of their late over night line up for something new, but that seems not going to happen. How and why Highway Patrol is deemed worth I don't know.

by Anonymousreply 110April 3, 2022 2:59 AM

Every several years they seem to rotate Highway Patrol with Sea Hunt. Yes they need to fine some other old shows.

by Anonymousreply 111April 3, 2022 3:09 AM

Was so pissed MeTV took Kojak out of their M-F late/overnight crime drama rotation.

Mannix and Cannon were well enough I suppose, but it's been *YEARS*, surely they can spring for some new programs.

When up that late have taken to watching Cosi-Tv for Will and Grace then 3rd Rock From Sun, at least it's something different. If in a quiet mood there's always Classical Arts Showcase...

Methinks Roku, Amazon and other streaming services paid more for Kojak, since show still can be found on there, but OTA broadcasts seem to have been shut down.

After reading this thread, I started binge watching this show from the beginning yesterday. The show is great, and it doesn't feel dated at all. It pokes fun of our society in a light-hearted way. Lithgow is perfect; he makes his character such a lovable asshole. His girlfriend is age-appropriate, and they're hilarious together.

by Anonymousreply 113April 3, 2022 2:31 PM

R113 again. And a Season 1 episode had a joke about guns, even before shootings became a weekly media event. Harry and Sally went to the DMV so that Sally could get a drivers license. They were waiting in the long line and Harry remarked, "if it's this hard to get a drivers license, imagine how hard it must be to buy a gun!".

by Anonymousreply 114April 3, 2022 2:38 PM

R113 again. Another anti-conservative joke. The other characters kept accidentally banging Harry's head. He would fall down, and when he stood back up, he'd take on a new personality and speak in the new personality's voice and accent. After one hit, he stood up and said in an exaggerated southern drawl, "the problem with the liberals is that they want too much government". Dick immediately whacked Harry on the head again, and explained to the other aliens, "I didn't want to have to live with that..."

r16 I sat near John Lithgow and Sigourney Weaver lunching together at an Italian restaurant in Tribeca in 2003. I was a little starstruck. They were both very tall. Moments after who they were registered to me, I happened to glance out the window and saw Stephanie March (ADA Alexandra Cabot on SVU) walking down the street. That was a fun day!

by Anonymousreply 119April 4, 2022 3:31 AM

Sounds fun, r119. A friend and I were in Sardi's and Joyce Randolph came in and put on the shoes she'd just bought and showed them off.

by Anonymousreply 120April 4, 2022 3:36 AM

Wow R118, Jane and Kris Kristofferson doing Mary Todd and Abe Lincoln in Virginia must have been a hoot.

by Anonymousreply 121April 4, 2022 12:06 PM

Dick's buccaneer joke at the Halloween party always cracks me up. He was dressed as a pirate.

Professor: Nice costume, Dick! Where are your buccaneers?

Dick: Under my bucaanhat!

Some of the title of the episodes were pretty risque. S1 Ep17: Assault with a Deadly Dick

[quote] That's because JGL's character was NOT supposed to be a child. If you followed the characters backstory, JGL's character was actually older that Lithgow's character! Did you ever listen to their dialog and how JGL would always tell Lithgow how much older he was?

Yes, but JGL, the actor, *was* a kid, and it was his ability to hold his own with the other actors that was being praised

by Anonymousreply 123April 4, 2022 3:13 PM

[quote] OP, since leaving the show, Lithgow has won an Emmy and a Screen Actors Guild Award for playing Churchill on "The Crown," a Tony for "Sweet Smell of Success," and he has also been nominated for four Grammys.

Lithgow has won two Emmys since 3rd Rock (the other was for Dexter) and been nominated for another.

by Anonymousreply 124April 4, 2022 3:18 PM

John Rait still sounds pretty good here.

I'm not even sure who French Stewart looks like now,,,a kabuki Paul Reubens? Someone forgot to rub in JGL's under-eye concealer. Lithgow seems to be aging the best. It's odd that the show was only in the top 30 for the first two years but NBC kept it on for 6 seasons, albeit with innumerable time slot changes.

Stewart looks like Mrs Dubcek without her makeup there

by Anonymousreply 127April 4, 2022 5:52 PM

Loved that show and all the characters. Jan Hicks was hilarious. I always laugh at that parody of the Tom Jones movie eating scene by Jan and French. I wonder whose idea it was to have French Stewart's character squint all the time? It must have been hell for the actor.

by Anonymousreply 128April 4, 2022 6:03 PM

see, this is sly p.r. a thread appears as JGL has a new show.

by Anonymousreply 129April 4, 2022 6:04 PM

R126 JGL has the chinky eyes of an 800 year old Chinese woman/embalmed corpse in that shot. Jeesass fuck she is gross.

JGL is one of the hottest 40-year-olds I know.

by Anonymousreply 133April 4, 2022 7:06 PM

Betty White's corpse looks better/has aged better than JGL.

And R132 doesn't know what an SJW actually is. Just throwing around acronyms as if they have no meaning. You know not using racial slurs has nothing to do with social justice, right?

I'm giving you too much credit. You didn't.

by Anonymousreply 140April 4, 2022 7:57 PM

Once in while you'd here some anti RePug joke, but never was an entire series about being anti-Republican. None I can recall.

Yet, Tim Allen was allowed to post his anti-Democrat verbal diarrhea weekly for how many years? His Last Man Standing sitcom seemed to be on forever, it's now in repeats.

by Anonymousreply 142April 4, 2022 8:50 PM

R140 SJWs love political correctness. Neither of those two things are welcome here. DLers will rip your diseased cunts right up, cunts.
