Laura Harring HATES Naomi Watts

I really like Laura Harring but she sounds a little nuts here.

There is probably a lot more to this story than Laura is telling.

Oh, absolutely, especially since David Lynch was also mad at her that night.

Most of it doesn't make any sense. Why would she have to cough up a lot of money to throw David Lynch an Oscar party? Is she really saying Lynch and Watts are both so petty that they iced her out because she was broke?

I loved her making sure to mention that her "gorgeous" friend was too fat to wear her costume for the Lynch short she had just filmed.

Has she even worked in the last twenty years?

It seems like she's suggesting they iced her out because Naomi became the big star; she got juicer, more mainstream roles and was best friends with Nicole Kidman. Nobody knew Laura before and nobody was rushing to hire her afterwards. Kinda like Deborah Shelton and Melanie Griffith in Body Double.

I thought she was so beautiful when I watched the film. Like a 1940s film noir actress reincarnated, those deep dark eyes. Have seen her in other stuff, but not much. Admittedly, she seems a little loopy... I recall her keeping her 'countess' title long after divorcing Otto Von Bismarck's great grandson or whatever he was.

Having said that, Naomi and Nicole have always given a bit of mean girl energy and it's quite well known. Remember the leaked footage of the I Heart Huckabees shoot? Where Lily Tomlin is going off at David O. Russell, Dustin Hoffman is trying to play peacemaker, and Isabelle Huppert is in the car silently thinking 'I will never make an American movie again'? I always think of Naomi's bitchy giggling in the back seat... and I would probably have done the same thing in that situation, lol. But she seems quite fickle and not very genuine.

That Rabbits series sucked, by the way.

That is ... odd. And why is she still carrying a grudge about this? She's talking about shit that happened 20 years ago!

Sounds like someone put out word on this woman not to hire her for whatever reason.

Notice how many times her jobs got cut off and turned into opportunities for someone else.

R11 Almost like a story from Mulholland Drive.

Naomi was well cast in Mulholland but I've disliked her in almost all of her other roles. She does the bland and passive broken woman routine that Amy Adams and Michelle Williams practically have trademarked. Why can't actresses display a little zest and spunk anymore? I guess these women keep getting cast because critics seem to like their blah energy.

Laura is definitely not saying something on her end that contributed to her icing out. I doubt Lynch or Watts blackballed her - neither of them, especially Watts, have ever had enough power in Hollywood to do that.

Well she didn't say that she hated Watts only that she felt that she was treated badly by Lynch and Watts.

Right, but Laura's definitely not relenting something on her side. Forget Naomi Watts, I can maybe believe her as a petty mean girl, but everyone who's worked with David Lynch talks about how nice of a guy he is, so him icing her out for no reason doesn't track.

Her wiki says that she suffered a gunshot wound to the head at 12 years old when she got caught in a drive-by in Mexico. Maybe that explains something…

That post is really strange. Especially the part about Rebekah. Laura replaced herself with Rebekah??? Huh? Doesn't the director do that?

Naomi may or may not be a bitch but there is definitely another side to this story.

Deborah Shelton was dubbed by Helen Shaver for Body Double while Griffith got great reviews for her (undubbed) performance, so it's no surprise why Griffith's stock rose after that film.

I found this post odd: Harring posted a photo of her and Naomi with a long caption about unrequited love...is Harring referencing the plot of Mulholland Drive? Or was she in love with Naomi?

R27 I think she meant it as a reference to the plot. But that's just my interpretation.

I lost all respect for Naomi when I saw her parading her son around in girly clothes. She looked anorexic and old in that horrid Netflix show Gypsy show. Dating that asshole Billy Crudcrap. Jarring still looks good by the way and had a shitty career because she was beautiful but a mediocre actress.

Naomi rightfully became a star after Mulholland Drive. Laura didn’t.

Simple as that. Laura has been jealous for 20 years.

Naomi was just cast as Babe Paley in the second season of Feud by the way.
