I saw that, she was totally belittling to the reporter asking her where she’s from and why she’s not wearing shoes. As for the Will Smith comment, I wonder if she’d feel the same if his wife was white.

She grew up in foster care and group homes. It’s amazing she’s come as far as she has - that kind of instability completely fucks a person up and makes them oppositional. Not to mention the trauma of whatever led to her being placed in foster care in the first place.

I work with teenagers in foster care and it’s extremely difficult for them to function “normally” as they become adults because they are constantly in survival mode and on the defensive. This can come off aggressive and inappropriate - but they don’t see it that way. And I don’t blame them. It’s a very rough way to start your life.

And yes - I’m generalizing - I’m sure there are some foster kids who are well-adjusted and have no behavioral issues whatsoever - that just hasn’t been my experience working with my clients for the past 15 years.

It may have been used in the general sense (I often say this when I need to chamge clothes for whatever reason...but I'm a gay costume designer). I didn't bother to watch because I don't like her.

I'm thinking about how "un costume" is the French masculine for "suit"...and how if the interviewer had been clever, they could've turned her haughty commentary on its head, had she chosen to wear any form of suit for either event.
