Agree R7. As mentioned in another thread, this was done with the transgender Miss Spain, too. Only it also involved videos, not just photos.

Miss Spain did this walk on appearance on a Spanish TV show. This type of appearance is harder to doctor because Miss Spain had to walk on set and then sit down next to an actual woman. Due to the situation, Miss Spain was forced to wear a matronly high-necked blouse. Also, the plastic surgery is really evident in this video.

I remember men ooohhing and aaahing at the time at doctored videos of Miss Spain. They didn't see this appearance.

Earlier today I was at an event here in NYC, and there was a trans woman walking around. She was tall but dressed like a normal college-age woman, not a hooker. Jeans and boots and a puffer jacket. Morgan Bradford, Craig Morgan, Cynthia McFadden, Jacob Ward, and especially Stephanie Gosk, who's done quite a few stories about Leah Thompson since the story's gone mainstream, all never report inaccurate facts, but they rarely if ever offer an opposing side within their segments. Even Lester Holt has begun offering a more singular angle of his Nightly News stories. A couple of months ago Gosk did a Today Show segment about MTF trans athletes in women's sports where she interviewed someone who expressed how their participation undermined women's competition. With hubris & being ever so dismissive Gosk replied "Really, undermines?" and cut to another interviewee. The attempt to keep everyone on the same page has become blatantly apparent, so I'm not surprised at all that this pic of Thompson was altered.

Oh, I agree they shouldn’t do it. But they do. And I think there is a difference between engaging in a common practice as a matter of course and doing it with the intention of misleading and manipulating. And, obviously, I can’t know for sure what their actual intent was.
