Natalie Gregory should have been a huge star.
Instead it was basically this and playing a child rape victim on Cagney and Lacey.

Has there ever been such an over-adapted property as Alice In Wonderland? Studios and writers love it because it feels like you can do anything you want with it and everyone thinks they can put their own personal stamp on it. But the story itself just isn't that much fun. The protagonist isn't all that active and it's always a slog. This looks especially...sloggy.

Wasn’t this the only role Patrick Duffy landed after Dallas, so he decided to return to the show and Pam dreamed away the 1985-86 ae a result?

An Irwin Allen Production!
This was my intro to Alice in Wonderland when I was a child. It's pretty much the most faithful adaptation of the story, and one of my favorites. Alice is my favorite book now.

The earliest film of Alice in Wonderland, from 1903.

Wasn't there one in the 70s that was a lot better? Also, wasn't there a thread on this already?

I loved this movie as a kid--we taped it off TV and I watched it all the time.
The best adaptation of the book is still the Disney version from the 50s. It captured the whimsy and the creepiness.

Yes - I must still have the recorded VHS somewhere. No VCR but boxes of tapes in the spare room.

I guess I didn't mean the 70s. There was a 1983 one with Kate Burton as Alice, Richard Burton, Eve Arden, Kaye Ballard, Donald O'Connor, Nathan Lane, James Coco, Maureen Stapleton, Geoffrey Holder. I thought it was much better. Anyone know this one?

Disney originally planned ALICE IN WONDERLAND in the late 1930s and the concept drawings by David Hall and the story by Al Perkins are closer to Todd Browning's FREAKS than anything by Lewis Carroll. The Mad Hatter and March Hare try to cut off Alice's legs with a large knife and Alice is almost guillotined by the Queen of Hearts.
These aren't even the most disturbing drawings for the abandoned film.

Man, the 1930s were hardcore. Ever seen Halloween decorations from the period? Those 1930s kids were tough.

Carol Channing turning into a goat in this film scared the shit out of 7-year-old me. To this day, I can't stand hearing her damn voice

That's at the end of the scene at the OP, R26, here's a clip of that scene alone:

Yes, R22. I especially appreciate its art direction, which was based on the illustration style of the book (costumes by Patricia Zipprodt & Irene Sharaff). It's a favorite.

Thank you, OP! An Irwin Allen production of Alice in Wonderland! Didn't know this existed and now I HAVE to see the whole thing. Just ordered the DVD.

Millennial chiming in, this is the version I was familiar with as a gayling. Loved Miranda Richardson as the Queen. The same year I saw her as the villainess in Sleepy Hollow.
