My roommate is a working musician who …
Travels a lot for work, and is constantly being viruses back home and getting me sick.
Last December, he brought home CoViD, which I initially tested positive for, then somehow, I tested negative 3 times thereafter.
Anyhow, now he brought home a nasty cold. I’m running a low fever and my nose is stuffed to the gills with mucous.
I love that he’s a musician, because he rehearses here at home, and frankly, I LOVE hearing him sing and and I love to hear the guys playing music while I’m making something to eat, or cleaning, but I’m SICK OF GETTING SICK WITH COLDS OR MILD FLUES!!!!
How can I strengthen my immune system without taxing out my kidneys?

Do 2 shots of Irish Whiskey every night (use a big shot glass)!!
by Anonymous | reply 17 | March 22, 2022 9:15 PM
|
3 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar (with the mother) in 8oz. of hot water with honey and a dash of cayenne to break up the mucus.
Then, for the immune system, an ongoing regimen of vitamin C (calcium ascorbate, not ascorbic acid), vitamin D (get a blood test to determine the exact amount that you need, D is fat soluble and you can overdo it and damage your live), Zinc, and probiotics to promote good gut microbiota considering that 80% of the immune system resides within the gut.

I forgot to mention magnesium which is both anti-inflammatory and helps to absorb vitamin D. Just be careful not to overdo it with that as well, as it is also a natural laxative; especially if you're taking probiotics, also. To avoid soft stool, take a pre-biotic (fiber) such as psyllium husk or just each more fiber rich foods.

{quote] cow milk
I am asking this in all seriousness - I thought cow milk was out and not good for humans. My's friends keratosis cleared up after giving up cow milk. I've been drinking almond milk and will have dairy occasionally. Milk - in or out?

When I was taking the train to work I took a whole food based multivitamin (6 capsules per day,) 10,000 IU of Vitamin D3 (in oil gelcaps - Vitamin D is fat soluble,) and olive leaf, which is an immune system booster.
I rarely got sick. I don't take most of those anymore, except for the Vitamin D.
Always take Vitamin D in the morning, not late in the day. Your body will stop producing Vitamin D from sunlight once it has enough. You don't want to go out in the sun, have your body create a bunch of Vitamin D, and then dump a bunch of supplements down on top.

Are you serious? 6 capsules per day 10,000 IU of Vitamin D3 is not healthy or safe.
Or am I misreading what you posted, is each gel cap 10,000 EACH? If so, that cannot be healthy.
I take 2000 IU a day. I was formerly on prescription strength Vit D3. My doctor said the 2000 IU is sufficient.

[quote]My doctor said the 2000 IU is sufficient.
Perhaps, if your doctor ran a 25-OH serology, it found that 2000 IUs is enough for [bold]you[/bold]. Depending on the individual, 10,000 IUs may be needed and has been found to be safe.

Good old cow milk
The combination of protein and carbohydrate is what makes cow's milk a great drink for helping those with pre-diabetes or diabetes manage their blood sugar.
A study published in Diabetes Metabolism Research and Reviews found that drinking dairy milk not only helped to manage blood sugar, but also helped improve insulin response-another crucial component of managing diabetes.
