They both came out in 1970 and were huge iconic hits. I'm talking about "Bridge Over Troubled Water" by Simon And Garfunkel AND "Let It Be" by The Beatles. Both went to #1 and were among the biggest selling singles of the year. Which one touches you and is your favorite?
"Let It Be". There is something about it that is timeless and just so beautiful and spiritual.

Let it Be. Simon and Garfunkel were just too smarmy.

Hate them both so much.
My inspiration is While You See a Chance by Steve Winwood.

Oh, pu-leez! "Sympathy for the Devil", bitches. Why is it inspirational to me? It clearly lays out the hypocrisy of world leaders throughout history. And how sweet FA was done about it. Look at NATO's response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

It’s a toss up between “It’s Raining Men” and “So Many Men, So Little Time.”

"Hey, hey they say I better get a chaperone. 'Cause I can't stop messin' with the danger zone. Hey, hey I won't worry and I won't fret, ain't no law against it yet."

I fucking H-A-T-E the song "Let it Be."
"Deep" sentiments that even Hallmark would reject.
And how it repeats itself, it's almost as bad as that other Beatles repetitive piece of shit "Hey Jude."
And "Mother Mary"? -- Catholic, please!

I'll set myself up for ridicule. "Five Variants of Dives and Lazarus" by Ralph Vaughan Williams; "No One Ever Cared for Me Like Jesus" by Stephanie Gretzinger; "Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing" & "How Can I Keep from Singing?" (both trad. hymns)
There are dozens more for me in pop, classical and traditional.
RE: the topic of this thread. IMO Let It Be sucks the big one; Bridge is overproduced but a better song.
