Rachel Zegler NOT invited to the Oscars
Isn’t that bizarre being that she’s the lead of Oscar contender WSS and was one of the actresses most likely to be nominated? Usually they would have someone like her present but she’s not even invited? That’s nuts.
I hope Spielberg sees this and makes sure she gets to go.

Lol why the hell would they invite a flop actress from a flop movie? She's certainly not going to help dwindling ratings and she isn't even eye candy or well-connected.

Pre-COVID, the producers of every nominated film - from the shorts to the Best Picture nominees - get a certain amount of tickets. It's common for the producers to give some of the cast members a ticket. If you're not a nominee, performer, presenter, or the date of one, the only other way to score tickets are through the AMPAS member lottery. (It's how Octavia Spencer got tickets a few years back despite being an executive producer of the eventual Best Picture winner.) Some members also raffle off those tickets for charity, as I believe Elton John has done this in the past. Attendance is still being somewhat limited this year, as they are apparently redesigning parts of the Dolby Theatre for the ceremony to make it not as crowded.
If she couldn't score a ticket, it's because of seating issues or because Disney/Fox didn't want to give her one.

Regardless of whether she ends up going or not, this is yet another big social media mistake that will hurt her career. I don’t know why, after casting her as his lead, Spielberg didn’t set her up with a publicist to get her to tone it down a little. Her acting was bad in the Tony death scene, the movie flopped, and this post (as well as the Britney video) - she’s a dumb mess, and after Snow White tanks, she’ll head back to the obscurity she came from.

Most Emotional Plea for an Oscar Ticket: Rachel Zegler
The West Side Story star posted today on her Instagram that she’s hoping for “some last minute miracle” after being left off the invite list. A Disney insider notes she’s shooting the Snow White sequel in London and is No. 1 on the call sheet, and co-star Ansel Elgort isn’t attending either because they aren’t nominated. But let’s see how long this lasts. Spielberg hates to be embarrassed, and he could certainly pay for any production delays out of his very large pocket.

You think Disney would’ve invited her and had her on the red carpet just to promote Snow White. It’s a legitimate slight.
At the same time, she may regret pushing for it because the show is just 6 days away now, hardly enough time to prepare. And all the commentators would be like, “You made it!” which would just be embarrassing. She might’ve been better off just angling for party invites though DeBose will be the one with carte blanche on the night.

Sure, she should be there but it's also obnoxious to post on social media about how disappointed she is and how much she appreciates the fans being upset - encouraging them to raise more hell about it. Nobody is stopping you from gossiping about this entitled little bitch and how she probably thought she was hot shit on set because she was cast as Maria. Maybe Spielberg thought she was an entitled little bitch too and he remembered this and told the Academy "Don't invite that little cunt!!" Maybe not.
And not every criticism towards Miss Zegler is about racism. It's about her acting like a brat and being totally thirsty. If she was a more cunning actress, she would have just responded to that comment by saying "I wasn't invited but I will be at home in my sweats, popping some Jiffy Pop and watching the show and cheering for the film and my girl Ariana!" That would not only have gotten her even more sympathy, but it would also have given her a better reputation. The "miracle" line just shows her thirst.

Her publicist must be popping Xanax this week.
She didn't have to answer that fan Q, and if she did, she could've said, "I'm filming in London, but wishing my team all the best"
Now the Mouse is being shamed into spending thousands of dollars (which they can absolutely afford of course) into shifting the shooting schedule and getting her to LA for the Oscars. And there's always the possibility of her picking up Covid, which would shut her movie down for a few weeks (at best) and cause all sorts of problems.
Rachel might end up a much more attractive Nikki Blonsky: one big role, followed by disappearing into self-sabotage.

Well she should have been invited to begin with.
But I heard Ansel wasn’t invited. Maybe that’s why she wasn’t.

I've been to the Academy Awards once (so far, knock on wood). It was an experience I'll treasure forever, and I was never even on camera.
I can understand her wanting to go, but shaming the Mouse into a ticket...it might be your only ticket, girl.

She's shooting a film in another country, she's not a nominee, and they're limiting capacity.
What part of that meant she HAD to attend?

I have a feeling the fact WSS was a movie Disney inherited from the Fox acquisition is an element here. As in there's little Disney executive enthusiasm for WSS (which would explain how they messed up the release) and also why they weren't all that bothered about making sure Zegler could attend. Whereas if it was a Disney movie proper, there'd be an exec fighting for it and making sure there was a big WSS contingent at the Oscars, etc.

The only reason this entitled bitch wants to go is because she had a deal with a designer, and so she bullied her way in…

R124 I wonder how many crisis meetings Disney has on a daily basis? It’s amazing they get anything done with all the manipulating and responding they do. I knew someone there in event sales and even someone at her (mid) level and far away from corporate HQ couldn’t answer a simple question without pausing and then delivering a carefully calibrated answer.
