Season 4 was atrocious. I don't have much hope.

Yeah, R4...especially without Aron, who gave the show some depth. Season three was amazing to me and that was mostly due to him, but also to Alvaro and Jorge...and with none of them there it feels like a different show.

Season 5 starts on the 8th.

This season was so much better than last. The less I see of unibrow Omar the better. Thank god they gave Patrick a new love interest. I wouldn't have watched if they continued to pair Patrick with Omar. Anyways, please watch. You won't be disappointed. This season is very gay. Patrick's storyline this season is actually good. I don't want to spoil too much, but I think you will like that one scene in particular;) I'd even say Manu blossomed a bit this season, you could tell he had chemistry with his new love interest unlike unibrow Omar.

Its a crime that Guzman never got to kiss another guy at least once before he left.

I also definitely enjoyed this season more than last!! And yes, Patrick's storyline was good...but I thought he had even better chemistry with the other guy (I won't give any details for now). By the end I felt like he wasn't even sure which one he liked more.

R11 Probably to continue it into Season 6? BTW I hope Patrick stays in the villa and the pool is cleaned before the next party.

R16 Continue to watch. It gets better. There's one scene in particular that's just SO good. Best I've seen on tv in years. I don't want to spoil too much though. And yes, less lesbian stuff than last year, thank god. I feel like they hogged all the screen time and Patrick got less because of that. Thankfully Patrick gets more screentime this season. I hope it's not cancelled. I really want to see how it all plays out next season considering how this season ended. Anyways... enough about Patrick. Why do all the guys on this show seem gay? It's not just Patrick either. Cayetana's new bf was't believable at all. He pinged hard. I'm convinced the actor is gay.

R14 LOL! Just continue to watch.

R15 No, it hasn't. It's gayer than it has been in years. Patrick actually gets a storyline this season and it's good, unlike last season. That whole love triangle with Ander and Omar was a travesty. It was SO bad. Thankfully that shit is finished.

It's interesting that Itzan and Andre seem so close behind the scenes. Andre posted some stories on Insta with Itzan, it's interesting because they barely had any scenes together. We all know Itzan is gay. I don't think Andre is, but maybe Itzan has a little crush on him? Either way they are obviously friends.

The scene where Patrick and the new guy jerk off together is the hottest thing ever on the show.

The reason I want another season is because I want to see more of Patrick, Cruz and Ivan. I assume if there's a next season they will continue the love triangle where Ivan will be pulled between Ari and Patrick now that Ari doesn't have a boyfriend anymore. Ivan did say he liked them both equally, but then he sent that voice message to the wrong person. Maybe he likes Patrick slightly more now, but who knows what will happen in the future. I also wonder what will happen to Patrick and his sisters now that their one parent is in prison. Their mother is dead. Will an aunt or uncle show up maybe? Or grandmother or grandfather? And who will be the new prinsipal at school? So many unanswered questions after this season.

What annoyed me this season is that we never got to see Patrick and Cruz have a sex scene. They just alluded to it. I think it's because some people would probably be grossed out by seeing it, like... it's a grooming thing. But this show has been pushing the boundaries for years. Why stop now?

R30 Carloto even used tongue. It's obvious Andre is straight in real life, because he wasn't that convincing as gay (or bi). He just came across as a straight guy. Don't get me wrong, he did have chemistry with Manu, and I did enjoy their scenes together, but Carloto took it further, using tongue. He was more believable as gay imo.

So... we know Ivan topped Patrick, but what about Cruz? I assume Cruz is a top too. He has to be, right? Last season Patrick said he's vers but usually enjoys bottoming more, so he's a vers bottom. I really can't picture Cruz as a bottom, so that means Patrick bottomed for both fater and son😂 Still can't believe they cheated us out of a Patrick and Cruz sex scene though. R11 Very good point! I think people just liked Patrick with Ivan more because of superficial stuff like Ivan is hotter. Also, Patrick had more scenes with Ivan and no sex scenes with Cruz. Another point is that it was "gross" (more like hot to me) that an older guy would do that with someone his son's age, so they were basically doomed since the start. I also think that is why Netflix didn't dare go there with them, which is a shame. I feel like Carloto and Manu had more chemistry and Manu and Andre. I'm torn because physically they make a hotter couple but chemistry-wise he had more of that with Cruz, which is why I wonder about Carloto's sexuality. Anyways, we'll see next season what happens. Maybe Patrick will come running back to him when (and lets be real, it's when, not if) Ivan hurts him again, probably after fucking Ari again.

Yeah, R38, to me it was hot as well...but they probably were reluctant to go there (maybe also because of the Mencia/Armando storyline last season and its connotations?).

But yes, I do wonder if their chemistry means Carloto may be gay or bi at least. It is obviously not necessarily the case but it could be...

And yes, it seems likely Ivan would continue to be hesitant/undecided.

I agree that season 5 is so good. The only downside is how the show got rid of Cayetana. She had all these big ambitious plans, wastes two seasons being the janitor, gets unceremoniously fired and decides this is the best time, when she has no other options, to have her happy ending with the thrift store guy?

The skanky Paris Hilton wannabe, the Prince trying to redeem himself, Samuel, Omar trying to help that refuge (that story went nowhere, who were the guys who beat up the guy? Was it all staged to pull at Omar's heartstrings? And then Omar disappears for two episodes), the two sisters I was kind of ambivalent about. Loved Rebe, but the absolute best part was Patrick and his storyline. I would totally watch a spin-off just with him and that sexy love triangle with father and son. Cruz didn't tell that he lied to Ivan claiming Patrick isn't interested in him, and he should stick with Ari, so he could have Patrick for himself!

A shame if Samuel is gone. He was the heart and protagonist of the show. He looked like Frank N. Further at that party with the pearl necklace around his neck in an early episode of this season. LOL.

I hope the show tries to pull a Jon Snow claiming that Itzan will not be in season 6 (the show has been renewed).

R41 Cayetana's boyfriend has to be gay. He pinged hard. That couple was not realistic, at all. I think the idea was to have Omar and Patrick become boyfriends, but the writers (thankfully) changed their minds and introduced Ivan and Cruz instead. It was a good idea because Omar is annoying and Patrick deserves better. The only problem is they had no idea what to do with Omar. I don't understand why he's even on the show anymore. He is annoying and doesn't really have any connection to anyone anymore, especially now that Samu is gone. Maybe he is closest with Rebe, but like... closest with one person? They need to just ship him away, let him join Ander off screen. And yes, totally agree about Patrick being the best part. I really hope there will be a new season. People were a bit harsh on this season, well.. more like the casual viewers. The fans seem to love the show still. I do agree though that some of the storylines this season were not that good. Like... it feels a bit repetitive? Patrick/Ivan/Cruz was good, and a couple of others. Otherwise.. nah. And why is EVERYONE falling for Ari?! WTF is that about? She is so ordinary and average. I seriously don't get it. And she looks like a lesbian. I'm convinced she is, which is why she seems to get along so well with Manu, always hanging out with him and posting stories with him. Maybe that's why I find all her lovers not believable.

R42 Good news about the show being renewed. Sadly I think Samu is dead. I read somewhere that it was Itzan's last season (whether by his or the writers's choice, who knows, probably the former imo).

I pity Carla Díaz (Ari) she has such a serious acne problem, not even film make-up can cover up, and yet has to be play that incredibly desirable girl everybody falls for.

That would be quite dark if Samuel is indeed dead. He had such high hopes for a better life with a better school education, and instead it forced his brother and aunt to flee to Morocco. He was treated like shit by the snobbish and elitist classmates and when he had their respect, he got screwed over by the headmaster with petty and manipulative mind games and then gets killed by said headmaster. That's pretty grim.

R45 True, it's a fun and hot show. I don't think anyone is expecting anything else. It's a good show for what it is.

And Ivan is just a fickle teenager himself. Platonic and teasing friends with Patrick and fucking his sister one day, "experimenting" with Patrick the next. Patrick's fuck buddy / friends with benefits relationship with Omar seems healthy in comparison.

R73 Holy shit, I never thought about it like that. You're totally right, he's chasing people who hold back their love just like his father did to him. Maybe next season he can get a father figure who will love him for who he is, not someone wanting him to be someone he's not. Benjamin always wanted a different kinda son. Patrick was wrong about many things, but he was right about that. Just like when Patrick finally opened up to his dad towards the end of the season, his father judged him instead of supporting him. Sure, his father wasn't wrong about what he said, that he needs to stop playing games or he will end up hurt. But he also needed to hear from Benjamin that he is his son and he will always love him no matter what. But he didn't. He decided to judge Patrick instead. All it did was make matters worse. Benjamin was always a terrible dad to Patrick. Maybe it's a good thing he's gone now.

Benjamin treated Patrick like a student, giving him "tough love" from an emotional distance. Clearly, the death of the mother fucked the whole family dynamic. Even before her death, Patrick and Benjamin weren't close, but Patrick had his mom. Benjamin, still hung up about his wife's death, couldn't connect with his children. He was emotionally distant (fearing that he would have an emotional breakdown?) thinking that showing strength and stability would heal the family quicker. Instead, the kids felt alone and isolated in their grief, and apparently having each other didn't help at all. They still needed a compassionate father to tell them it's ok to be vulnerable and show emotions, or something like that.

I just realized there was a slight plot hole (if you can call it that) when Ivan was yelling at Patrick for hooking up with his dad. In the mean time Ivan had hooked up with Ari. So why wasn't Patrick equally mad at Ivan? He just stood there and took it, why didn't he yell at Ivan for fucking Ari, he could have said they're even... or something like that. It was an odd exchange, like just one of them was guilty of cheating, when in fact they both did.

What is fucked up is that they both were on their party dates. Ivan won the winning bid for Ari and Cruz won the winning bid for Patrick (!) Ivan just discovered that his father made out with Patrick in the pool, and in total shock, he cuts his own date with Ari short and pushes her out of the house through the backdoor (!) And the next day he confronts his father and Patrick for betraying him (making it all about him).

R80 Yes, exactly! They were technically BOTH cheating! So why was Ivan the only one who was mad? Patrick had the right to be mad at Ivan too. That scene made no sense imo. It was a slight plot hole, they should have had Patrick telling Ivan to fuck off too, instead it being completely one sided where Ivan is yelling at Patrick.

On the Datalounge it is an existential error of the highest order to refer to any hole as "slight".

Finally someone realized Patrick and Cruz were the main characters this season, not Patrick and Ivan.

Elite's main focus are the students. I don't know if the show would actually go there to explore a "daddy & son" relationship between Patrick and Cruz. It sucks but I don't think they will go there, it's weird because Elite has been pushing boundaries for years now, yet a relationship between two consenting people is where they draw the line?! Wtf?! Then again, I think Patrick and Cruz were just the B-story this season and with Cruz' speech the last episode I doubt he will be part of the show much next season. They always drop the parents the season after they are introduced, which the exception of Benjamin, but that's just because he was the principal of the school. It's obvious Ivan/Patrick/Ari will be the love triangle next season, and Cruz will probably just be mentioned. Didn't the actor playing Ivan post a story that he was filming next season already? While the actor playing Cruz is filming a movie. So I doubt we will see him much next season, sadly.

Reading the Elite thread on Reddit is interesting. I totally agree with what most people are saying. People didn't like the Patrick and Cruz storyline. They thought it was predatory and that Cruz took advantage of a vulnerable Patrick. Meh.... they weren't doing anything illegal as age of consent in Spain is 16. But I see where they are coming from, because it does look kinda bad, like a grooming thing. Many people thought Ivan was queerbaiting at first and that it wouldn't lead anywhere and it hurt the storyline. I agree. I get that they wanted to keep people guessing, but it would have been better if they wrote Ivan more like a confused guy than someone who was straight and playing poor Patrick along. And they also say that Ivan's feelings for Ari are made obvious, but with Patrick it's more ambiguous, so you don't really know how he feels for him. And where did those feelings even come from? I totally agree. Again, it could have been written better imo. Less "sexually comfortable straight guy" and more "confused queer guy". Someone pointed out that maybe he considered himself straight up until that thing with Patrick... I don't know. I think that's a bit far fetched. As was said upthread, in a show whose success is its superficial image and beauty, it's curious how Ari is the femme fatale who is irresistible to all men/boys.... I mean, she is a competent actress, has warm and pretty eyes, but has horrible acne that changes from scene to scene depending on the amount of make-up used to cover it up, has an ample tush (for those that like that) but is short, thick, with no breasts. Perhaps by Spanish standards she's beautiful??

The whole show is a ridiculous novela - soft-porn? no more so than the IG/Social media world it (accurately?) reflects. Although the whole Ibiza scenes seemed silly... the garage-like hotel room where the drugged orgy happens looks like a cartoon. In the next season it'd be great to see Ivan bottom for Patrick.

I don't get it either, R143. I think she was miscast. Yes, her personality is free and fun, so by that I can see guys falling for her. On the other hand, she'a not what I would call a beauty. Cute, sure. But that doesn't really explain why they're all falling for her. Even with a fun personality, guys look at the exterior first. I believe she was miscast. Someone like Valentina (Isadora) who is stunning, would be better suited for the role. It's funny because many of the show's fans can't stand her either, so it's not just gays here on Datalounge. They're calling her annoying and they don't understand how all the guys keep falling for her.

Benjamin is offering Samuel all of this money and paid tuition and a future career if he gives him back the incriminating SIM card.

But isn't Samuel going to have to go back to prison if he doesn't hand over the SIM card to the cops? The deal was, he comes up with the goods that nail Benjamin, and he gets a "get out of jail free" card.

What good is all of this stuff Benjamin's offering him, if he has to spend decades locked up?

I get that jail time was part of the original deal that Benjamin reneged on, but this new offer Benjamin was making seemed more time-specific (like a paid spot at the prestigious business school, that sort of thing isn't usually open-ended for years and years, especially for a convicted killer), and he really didn't mention anything about going to jail this time around. It was just, "here's all this stuff".

Supposedly he was going to have to do a shit-ton of time if he didn't cooperate. I don't know, I thought the whole thing didn't add up, especially considering Benjamin already double-crossed him once

Benjamin was still manipulating Samuel, who just told him he saw him as a father figure. He was manipulating Samuel to get the memory card. And when that didn't work, he got physical and attacked Samuel.
