Multi-genre author Donna Kaz, William Hurt's former girlfriend writes column on surviving Hurt's abuse and "speaking her truth"

She apparently waited until he was dead to speak up. But suddenly, couldn't let the guy's body reach room temperature before attempting to capitalize on her abuse.

He was an abusive asshole and apparently he raped one of his girlfriends. Why should anyone care how cold his corpse is before spilling the details?

by Anonymousreply 1March 19, 2022 8:04 PM

R1 She got her wish (I wish he was dead) she needs to move on.

by Anonymousreply 2March 19, 2022 8:10 PM

never trust a bitch that says "my truth"

by Anonymousreply 3March 19, 2022 8:15 PM

He’s lucky she waited until he was dead. People are under no obligation to pretend someone wasn’t a piece of shit when they were just because they’ve died.

by Anonymousreply 4March 19, 2022 8:19 PM

She actually didn't wait until he was dead. She published a book about their relationship well before #MeToo became the Cause Celebre. But she's clearly bitter that no one paid attention to her and she missed out on the wave, because here she is humping the corpse before it even hits room temperature.

Has Marlee Matlin spoken about "Ma Tooth?"

by Anonymousreply 6March 19, 2022 8:22 PM

The Bill defenders are creepy.

by Anonymousreply 7March 19, 2022 8:25 PM

I haven't seen one "Bill defender" on here. I have no doubt he beat this woman. I believe her story completely. But I also think it's more than a little icky that she would track all this up again to sell a few copies of her book that no one cared about the first time around.

by Anonymousreply 8March 19, 2022 8:28 PM

Yes, we knew all about this, years ago. It might be interesting to hear from Mary Beth Hurt, his first wife.

I'm still heartbroken about his death. THAT's talent.

by Anonymousreply 9March 19, 2022 8:28 PM

Well with a last name like Hurt…

by Anonymousreply 10March 19, 2022 9:02 PM

[quote] Multi-genre author

Don’t you mean jandra, OP?

I'm still heartbroken about his death. THAT's a cock!

by Anonymousreply 12March 19, 2022 9:38 PM

[quote]Well with a last name like Hurt…

It has to hurt good.

by Anonymousreply 13March 19, 2022 10:09 PM

It was telling that none of Hurt's fellow actors stepped up to say anything nice about him. Not one.

A number of women stepped forward to say he raped the. Hurt seemed like a real asshole.

Kathleen Turner did.

Meg Tilly, his 'The Big Chill' co-star, did too.

"Grateful for our time together"

Wow.

Talk about "damning with faint praise", huh?

by Anonymousreply 17March 20, 2022 12:30 AM

Will the Oscars now include him in its In Memoriam list?

by Anonymousreply 18March 20, 2022 12:33 AM

R17 = upset he was proven wrong in his post at R14.

by Anonymousreply 19March 20, 2022 12:34 AM

I agree, the Kathleen Turner quote is very modest in its praise.

by Anonymousreply 20March 20, 2022 12:41 AM

She didn't wait until his death OP. She wrote a book years ago about it. This column clearly references the book.

by Anonymousreply 21March 20, 2022 1:21 AM

What does "my truth" mean? Is it similar to "the" truth?

by Anonymousreply 22March 20, 2022 1:25 AM

"Grateful for our time together" is how I feel about my orthodontist!

by Anonymousreply 23March 20, 2022 2:00 AM

How did she explain staying with him for three years, if the abuse was as she claims?

by Anonymousreply 24March 20, 2022 2:04 AM

r22 well, I know in sjw speak, it usually means they're about to present you with their own narrative, their own truth, that the world is run by lizard people and actually hollow with ancient alien civlization that bestowed upon them their truth and they say their truth because facts are tricknology.

by Anonymousreply 25March 20, 2022 3:09 AM

[quote]I agree, the Kathleen Turner quote is very modest in its praise.

They only worked together twice - the last time being 34 years ago. She said she was grateful for their time together (which was probably just a few months of filming) and said he was deeply intelligent and a glorious actor. What more did you expect her to say about a coworker from 34 years ago? She praised him appropriately - not over the top but still acknowledging her experience with him.

by Anonymousreply 26March 20, 2022 3:24 AM

I hate myself for fantasizing about Hurt slapping me around.

by Anonymousreply 27March 20, 2022 3:33 AM

I was molested.

by Anonymousreply 28March 20, 2022 4:03 AM

He was just an average white guy. I hated him in children of a lesser god, I wish they had just subtitled Marlee’s ASL.

by Anonymousreply 29March 20, 2022 4:38 AM

"her" truth? There is the truth and then there is bullshitting to get publicity.

by Anonymousreply 30March 20, 2022 4:57 AM

Because it is unseemly, R1. And it hurts his family. And it looks more like attention seeking than a genuine complaint.

by Anonymousreply 31March 20, 2022 5:49 AM

Not true, R14. I read one the day he died from an actress he worked with. He was actually very good at his craft. Watched Gorky Park again last night and enjoyed it. It is on Amazon Prime for the rest of the month.

by Anonymousreply 32March 20, 2022 5:54 AM

He was an abusive alcoholic actor

by Anonymousreply 33March 20, 2022 6:00 AM

I loved Accidental Tourist.

by Anonymousreply 34March 20, 2022 7:25 AM

Donna Kaz doesn't use the term "my truth." OP did, to make fun of her because he's sad that an actor he never met died and ex-girlfriends are saying Okay, but he beat me up, does anybody care about that?

by Anonymousreply 35March 20, 2022 8:45 AM

I don't see how this essay hurts his family, R31. He's a public figure, and Kaz didn't say anything about Hurt's children. We actually knew Hurt abused Marlee Matlin before the publication of her memoirs, because he went so far to assault her in in front of his child with ex-girlfriend Sandra Jennings, as she testified in 1989. She also testified that he physically abused her during their relationship and gave her chlamydia. A stint at Betty Ford in 1986 didn't help. If anybody hurt his family it was Hurt.
