During my usual porn hunt recently, I came across this movie from 1981. I'm not sure if you'd consider it porn or an x-rated movie, or even what the difference is, but the funny thing is, I had a fun time watching this!
Was this what porn was back in the day? Because I've always been told how cheesy it is, and I mean, this is cheesy, but it's also, like, sexy! And it's a straight movie, so that doubly surprised me, but the two male leads that the movie is about are really good looking and the one, John Leslie, is a revelation to me, that masculinity! He really does it for me. And I love his laugh after every time he cums.
I started masturbating in the age of Sean Cody and Corbin Fisher and Straight College Men. You know, those videos: "state your name and age and a bit about yourself and then start wanking", which were very exciting to me at the time, but kinda formulaic and dull, and now I've seen a couple of these real retro films from the 70s and 80s and it makes me wish this was more what porn was today. Things that appeal to me about it are:
- no crazy, unnatural angles. In this video the men and women are pressed up against each other like how it would be.
- a focus on the entire bodies when fucking. Not just penetration, but seeing the sexiness in faces, expressions, movement of the backs, legs, etc. This whole of body thing is much sexier to me. Seemed to be shared pretty evenly between men and women too.
- it also just seems a lot sweeter to me. Yeah, there are things that might be looked at as 'problematic' nowadays here, but it doesn't seem like anyone is being hurt at least.
The very final scene actually got me in the feels a bit. I love a bromance.
For something more gay, I also saw a movie recently, think it was called Score, from the 70s. Two couples switch partners, but it's a case of the men going off together and the women. The scenes with the men were very hot to me.
I also just generally have a late 70s/early 80s aesthetic fascination, so it all kinda does it for me.
For the blokes who were around then, was this the more standard type of thing people would see at the time? And do you have any other recommendations?
