Did the British take over American actors job?

This is from well before Harry left for America, so they speak of him as a cute naughty guy rather than as an obnoxious whinger.
Some of them come across as very "actor-y" (like Jeremy Irons, Judi Dench, and Matthew Goode), while others come across as very genuine (like Branagh). Terence Stamp comes across as both actor-y AND genuine simultaneously, which is hard to believe.
Dominic West is the most fascinating of all because he comes across as a dissolute charmer well past his prime like Peter O'Toole in "My Favorite Year."

Is there a British actor who can say the word "ANYTHING" in a proper American accent? They always say "ANNA-THIN"!!!

Christ they’re all so fucking annoying.

I'm at least glad they all admit that American accents are hard, since so few of them can do good regional ones. They're all terrible at doing Boston accents, but then most American non-Bostonians can't do a proper Boston accent either--it's really hard to do.

For some reason the British are good in southern accent.

American accents no Brit can get right: New Orleans, New England, Minnesota, the nuances of accents around NYC (Jersey v Brooklyn v LI), Miami English with it's Spanish inflections, the flat vowels of Chicago (except for the 'a' in Chicago itself), Pittsburgh (who would want to?).
They're good at parody generic southern accents (because it's basically 16th century English) but bad at regional distinctions.
Aussies are better, but telltale giveaways with an errant broad vowel.

Yes indeed, we too use "cookies." Take a look at our privacy/terms or if you just want to see the damn site without all this bureaucratic nonsense, click ACCEPT. Otherwise, you'll just have to find some other site for your pointless bitchery needs.
