I am sure that they ALL have deep ties to Russians. The difference is that the British Royal Family can protect the royals in Britain from scrutiny when it comes to things like this. The Daily Mail protects their own profits (which revolve around rightwing bullshit) and nothing else. Attempting to present the Daily Mail as an advocate for anything other than rightwing bullshit (and the profits it produces) is not going to work here.

I think Meghan's issue is she wasn't famous enough before marrying Harry to have had any experience with the tabloid press. The only coverage in the media she ever got was from press releases by the publicists for the cable show she was on. Those would necessarily be effusively flattering. She probably believed her own publicity. I had certainly never heard of her pre-Harry. Her ex-husband who got her acting jobs wasn't famous enough to be known either.

I think the British Royal family assumed she was more famous than she was and familiar with the pitfalls of being in the limelight. In the UK, if you're starring on a TV series - well, there aren't very many, and everybody knows who you are. There is no UK equivalent of crappy shows on USA network or whatever cable channel her show was on.

There was a video clip up dating back pre-Harry when Meghan was doing publicity rounds for her cable TV show at some event which might be A list in Toronto but would be D list anywhere else. Some entertainment guy was interviewing her about the show. While he was interviewing her - and she was boring him stiff - he was looking over her head to see if there was anybody more famous to interview. She got mad at him, snatched his paper out of his hand, started attacking him because he'd spelled her name wrong on the paper. That was the Real Meghan Markle: desperate to be famous and incapable of dealing with somebody who wasn't sucking up to her.

Meghan saw her marriage into this family as a star making role/vehicle first and foremost. Once she was in, she started with the Miss Ross shit. She wouldn't listen to the advice of those put in place to protect the institution by protecting her. No. She'd do things her own way, and we see how it worked out.
