Listening to her as she plays Bertha Russell in The Gilded Age is maddening! I hope they kill her character off soon to end the horror of her voice and mediocre acting skills.
Carrie Coon's voice is one of the worst in acting history!

I heard she’s none too fond of your lisp, so you’re even.

I loved her in The Leftovers, OP -- maybe it's the way she's playing this character that you find maddening.
I, however, gave up on The Gilded Age after Episode 4, though -- so there's that.

Saw her as Honey in Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf. Hated her performance. HATED it.

I agree with R4, she was amazing in that. Her character there was so depressive, yet I don’t recall her being as monotone as she is here.

The show is so incredibly boring, I can't believe it's by the same writer as Downton Abbey, which really had so much passion, heat, and wit (at least in its first three seasons).
And I'm with you all about Carrie Coon. Just cannot stand all these affectations she's doing. Americans struggle with period--and this is a period that American actors rarely do. It shows. Every episode feels like they're all just playing dress-up.
I want to love it, but I don't.

Boring? It makes Downton Abbey look like Raiders of the Lost Ark!
