Do you remember the PSA they made using him to keep people from doing drugs? It was after he died. So sad that he became hooked to that stuff.
I remember there being a specific time he became addicted but can not remember around what time he began using. Sad. Always breaks my heart how many young people in the 90s/00s lost their lives to drugs.

He was discovered at age 17 by Paul Morrissey. Taken right out of South Philly High School to play a major role in the crime film Mixed Blood and a few laters played a supporting role in Spike of Bensonhurst. Both directed by Morrissey and show an interesting snapshot of 1980s pre-gentrification NYC with hot hunks and twinks.
He appears as the guy in the super revealing yellow crop top in Menudo's Hold Me music video

Wasn't he a kept boy? Just like Bruce Weber's other "discoveries", Michael Schoeffling and Sasha Mitchell. But I remember in a MOPI thread, someone who knew him said Rodney was actually bisexual and not just gay4pay and he had a loving relationship with an older man.

I remember seeing Mixed Blood at some film festival in Manhattan. Then I recognized him a few years later in The Outsiders TV show. He had a minor role in My Own Privater Idaho. Drugs had destroyed his life even before he overdosed.
