Yeah, I remember reading an interview / article (Rolling Stone?) about him a while back. But RHCP were definitely established by that interview. The interviewer came to his house and there was a picture of Kiedis' girlfriend on his refrigerator. Kiedis' father was also at the house and they (Kiedis and his father) were both joking about how old the GF was (it was a high school picture of the girl and not a vintage-type thing).

R19/R31 Flea was childhood friends with glass-closet bisexual hair-metal rocker Tracii Guns (née Tracey Ulrich). They attended (well, cursorily) Fairfax High School together, along with guitar icon Slash. Presumably, all three bonded over being tiny guitar-nerd Jewish boys who liked other boys.

He became famous and ‘peaked’ quite young, given contracts in his late teens and touring the world to play big stadiums in his early-mod twenties. Later in life, Tracii was also closely associated for a time with Nikki Sixx, another sexually-suspect character in rock history, and this relationship also ended in a curiously abrupt and dramatic breakup (allegedly over money, but like...come on).

Pamela des Barres spills in one of her groupie dirt books about a threesome she once had with Tracii and his musical protégé Jeremy, and the way she told it made it seem kind of gay on Tracii’s part.

Yes, he played in school bands, I literally said that in my og post? He was the first string trumpet and bass for his school jazz outfit, and iirc he was part of a local non-curricular orchestra as well.
