I blame Jake for that.
His career was on the upswing, just when the rumors about him and Austin started growing.
So he decided to dump Austin and go back in the closet. Much like Luke Evans and that other British guy who came out then went back in the closet.
Now that his career has leveled off, I don't think Jake cares much about the gay rumors.

That show uses prosthetic dicks all the time and it looks so stupid. What was hot about that era was that everyone looked natural and you didn't have to have a 10 inch cock to be in those magazines.
