This is my favorite show. Everyone is just so amazing in it and I love the mystery. I hope this is a show that goes on for many years. They could even do spin-offs.
I can’t wait for Season 2 of Only Murders In The Building

Me too OP, It’s a great show.

I don't need a 2nd season. I'm fine

I wonder how they’re going to continue the story after that finale
by Anonymous | reply 3 | March 10, 2022 5:51 PM |
R3
I think someone’s gonna find evidence that proves their innocence and helps them get out (the cop lady?) and then they’re going to investigate the new murder. I’m anxious to see who the new murderer is.

When does it air?
by Anonymous | reply 5 | March 10, 2022 8:22 PM |
I think Shirley MacLaine will be a great addition.

by Anonymous | reply 7 | July 5, 2022 4:37 PM |
I’m watching.
SPOILERS
Right now I think the murderer might be the waiter from episode 3. I think it’s suspect that he was out when Bunny was meeting with her “friend” and he probably knows more about the “friend” than he’s letting on. That whole conversation felt off to me, and he seems like a fake nice guy. Plus her giving him all that money set off alarms to me. There’s def something more to that waiter. Nina I think is too obvious to be the murderer.

I love Steve's apartment, but his character is even more pretentious and ironic than usual.
Remember when he used to simply wear weird costumes and go for a mainstream laugh? Now he's gone full Bill Murray, and fancies himself some sort of weak, postmodern pseudo-intellectual. The dude owes his entire career and fortune to weird dances and leaking cans of motor oil. He's not fooling anyone.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | July 5, 2022 5:01 PM |
I think the doorman is involved.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | July 5, 2022 5:01 PM |
R8 Interesting theory... I'm going to go with Tina Fey's character. And the motive? Keeping her podcast in the limelight. Remember what they said about second seasons of podcasts with different themes... they always fail. Same theme but new murder... maybe Tina is doing it for the ratings?

[quote] might be the waiter from episode 3
She seemed pleasant to him; she looked annoyed when she opened her door for her apparent 'killer' . So I think that ruled him out?

Is this on Netflix

Hulu

Just watched episode 3
*****SPOILERS*****
I don’t think Nina is actually pregnant on the show. . That baby bump looks all kinda wonky and misshapen and think she might be faking being pregnant
The waiter interaction seemed off, so r8 theory might hold water.
Shirley MacClain’s character, I’m gonna take a guess is involved somehow
by Anonymous | reply 15 | July 6, 2022 1:21 AM |
There also might have been a clue leading to the waiter with that whole “act of kindness” thing. Notice how Bunny’s two greatest acts of kindness in the episode were to Mabel, Charles, and Oliver, with champagne, and to the waiter, Ivan, with a large sum of money.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | July 6, 2022 2:16 AM |
Bunny was so damned sad and likable in this episode.
And yeah, I'd buy the idea of a fake pregnancy. That bitch spends way too much time stroking her belly and yakking about pressure points on her feet. We get it, chippie. You're pregnant!
by Anonymous | reply 17 | July 6, 2022 2:18 AM |
Yeah I think she’s faking too, but she’s definitely not the murderer. Too obvious. She is up to no good, though.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | July 6, 2022 3:02 AM |
Do you think someone else will be murdered by the end of the season?
by Anonymous | reply 19 | July 6, 2022 3:09 AM |
Where the hell is Mabel’s aunt? You’d think with everything that’s going on, she’d at least check in.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | July 6, 2022 5:26 AM |
R20 We never saw the roommate on "Broad City." We never saw Stanley Walker. We never saw Maris.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | July 6, 2022 1:49 PM |
What are some theories y'all have? There's not just one attacker/killer/storyline that leads back to the painting going on here. I think one person wanted the painting, and another person wanted to kill Mabel but Bunny got in the way.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | July 7, 2022 8:28 PM |
R22 Bunny was attacked in her own apartment and was violently dragged out into the hallway. She probably just stumbled into Mabel’s apartment seeking help because she knew she was having a party but the crew were on the roof. You might be on to something about the person stealing the painting doesn’t necessarily mean they’re the killer.
If the killer was the one who stole the painting then it would have to be someone who knew about it or at least could recognize the value. I want to rule out Bunny’s friend and the gay because why would they go to look for the painting if they already stole it? Unless one of them did so to throw off suspicion.
Maybe the friend who knew of the existence of the painting involved the gay so when everyone was being investigated she would have an alibi. Because why would she look for the painting she already stole? Or it could be the gay because the board had access to Bunny’s apartment, we saw this when the threw the retirement party.
It could very well be both of them and they plotted together. If they did know about the painting in the friend’s case and had access to the apartment in the gay’s case it’s not far fetched that they would know about the vent that lead I want to say to Mabel’s apartment. They could have set the crew up because and used the secret passage to take the painting out of the building.

I don’t know, Howard seems like a red herring to me again. But maybe that’s what they want you to think?
I still have my eyes on that waiter. I just have a feeling there’s something more to him.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | July 10, 2022 2:59 PM |
Detectives, apart from Midsomer Murders, have gotten too dark and depressing in the last two decades. I’m also sick of the whole Scandi Noir stuff. This show definitely feels like a breath of fresh air.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | July 10, 2022 3:03 PM |
Some suspects I want to rule out so far are the waiter, the pregnant lady and the bell man. Would the waiter even know where bunny lived? I know she was friendly to him but I highly doubt she would tell him her personal info because why would you tell someone who serves you that? And she seemed annoyed at the person who killed her, I would expect a surprise reaction if it were him. Plus he doesn’t seem like someone who could mastermind all the going one this season. He would have to know about the crew, their schedule and know which apartment is theirs. All information he couldn’t possibly know unless he was at the apartment 24/7 and I’m sure word would have gotten out about a stranger roaming around.
My case for the bell man is I feel like if it was him Bunny’s reaction wouldn’t be what it was when she opened the door. She is the building manager and would probably have building employees going to her at all hours of the day about building issues. But on the other hand he probably would know about the layout of the apartment and would know about the secret elevator. He could have also used a cart to seen the painting out like the crew did. Valid points pointing to him as a suspect but I highly doubt Bunny would have ever let him have access to her apartment so he probably know about the painting. He seemed like he worked there for a long time so maybe he might have been to the apartment when Bunny’s mom was still building manager.
I do think the pregnant lady is actually pregnant and not faking it. It is a Hulu show so don’t be surprised about some props being wonky lol. And take Bunny’s place she probably have to be part of the board for a while and they would see her stomach growing. And other than that to obvious and why would she steal the painting and nothing else?

I couldn't even finish the first season. But if you enjoyed it, then good news for you.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | July 10, 2022 3:05 PM |
R24 refer to R26 to why I don’t think it’s the waiter.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | July 10, 2022 3:07 PM |
I also want to add to the suspect list the artist Mabel’s seeing, Cara’s character. The one thing that leads to the murder is an art piece and it wouldn’t be the first time the love interest turned out to be the killer. It was weird how she just took an interest in Mabel and she seems off. I can see her being interested in the famous artist who painted the painting and finding out about it and wanting to buy it. When the waiter and Bunny were talking about the friend I don’t recall them gendering them which leaves the suspect ambiguous.

R26
Because I think there’s more about the relationship between the waiter and Bunny that they haven’t told us yet (and more about the waiter in general). Kinda like how we knew nothing about Jan and Tim Kono hooking up until towards later in the season.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | July 10, 2022 3:30 PM |
Season 1 was such a thankless chore to get through, I can't muster the will for a season 2 or 3.
Preparing to be scratching my head over the assured meritless Emmy nods.

Ditto. Only thing worse was the first season of the Flight Attendant.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | July 12, 2022 8:25 AM |
Why the hell was Sting in the first season? I assumed he agreed to appear because he wrote the score, it was very 'Sting', but alas, Sting didn't compose the music.
Sting has a lawsuit to deal with, the composer definitely ripped off music from a few of Sting's earlier solo LPs. The series main theme sounds exactly like a Sting song, but I cannot remember which one.

by Anonymous | reply 34 | July 12, 2022 10:31 PM |
R34 Yeah, that does seem to be the prevailing opinion. Did it actually make you laugh. Or wasn't it meant to be funny?
By the episode where they go on the road trip, I gave up on it being anything but a pointless slog.

Seeing Steve Martin be paternal is sweet, but then I remember he didn't have his first kid until he was in his 60s, which makes it a little weird.
I still like Deaf Theo. Not as the killer, but just as a hunky. He's adorable, and he deserves better than that dick father he has.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | July 13, 2022 1:40 PM |
Steve looks better in this than he did in “It’s Complicated”, which was about ten years ago.

I have a hard time believing Oliver Putnam is straight. His flamboyant gayness is more exposed than the cast of “Oh! Calcutta!”

This episode was so good and so many good actors: Andrea, Jane Lynch, Amy Ryan, Tina Fey
by Anonymous | reply 44 | July 26, 2022 11:59 PM |
Tina Fey had to be the most uninspired actresses that ever existed. She seems like just a handful of acting tics that she just liberally sequences through looking for a performance. The young woman playing her assistant is acting circles around her. She should just stick doing work behind the camera.

I take back Tina F
by Anonymous | reply 46 | July 27, 2022 2:03 AM |
It's interesting think back to the night of Bunny's death and the trio's arrest. Why were Cinda Canning and the canny assistant already at the building when the cops arrived to arrest people? It's possible they just had a miraculously quick scoop and happened to be on the UWS already.
Or maybe one or both of them was already at the Arconia that night.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | July 27, 2022 3:44 AM |
Tina Fey is way too meta to actually act.

Selena Gomez is currently ranked 3rd in the world as IG influencer, right behind Cristiano and Kylie. How does that work, does she pay for anything in life, or is it all gratis.

Friends recommended this show to me. I'm not a fan of the two male actors but they are really good is this. And Selena Gomez is fantastic. I love the wit behind the lines and scenes - but they are suttle. Which I didn't expect. I'm thoroughly enjoying it. I'm almost done with Season 1.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | July 31, 2022 7:14 PM |
R52 It's pure skullduggery (or maybe pure genius) that you know Selena Gomez by name, but you can't name the "two male actors" who created the series and run it. They're two of the most accomplished, awarded, and beloved comedy icons of all time, but they're anonymous to your potato brain.
Steve Martin
Martin Short

Second season better than first.
Partner turned to me last night and said, “you’re right about Selena Gomez” (that she cant act).
by Anonymous | reply 56 | August 25, 2022 12:56 AM |
The sadder thing is that she just doesn’t have a personality at all either, that flat affect is her lived experience, whether she’s buying stamps at the post office or being held hostage at gun point she’s going to have the same affect. I can’t even imagine her being able to call out “Surprise” at a surprise birthday party.
Also, have you noticed she runs funny, kind of a side to side waddle? Is that due to all the medical problems she’s had, it’s not like she fat, but she moves very awkwardly and stiff.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | August 25, 2022 1:10 AM |
I like the 1st season more. Much cohesive than the 2nd one. Somehow felt they stretched this season just to meet the of # episodes. Hopefully the 3rd one is better.

I was late to the party, started watching it a couple of weeks ago and finished both seasons. For some reason, when the show came out, its description didn't grab me plus, Selena Gomez... ugh. However, I LOVED it, Selena included. It strikes the right balance of humor and whodunit suspense. I'm surprised at the sheer number of high profile names who've had cameos or short story arcs but I guess Steve Martin still has a lot of pull in the business.
by Anonymous | reply 59 | August 25, 2022 1:43 AM |

Wait, so is it over? I didn’t understand the part where Tina Fey said she was a one hit wonder podcaster to Poppy, she was well known already by Poppy for her podcasts before Poppy came to work for her and brought her the OK story?
And when Poppy said about not being attractive enough to be a podcaster and looked at Selena, was that nasty shade to say Selena wasn’t attractive?
