He starred on Broadway as a teenager and appeared in a Philip Marlowe movie at Fox when he was 19.

trombonist?
by Anonymous | reply 1 | March 9, 2022 3:01 PM |
He looks like a kiddie diddler.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | March 9, 2022 3:02 PM |
He did the Same Time, Next Year tour with Joyce Van Patten.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | March 9, 2022 3:04 PM |
I'm sure he showed up in a couple of episodes of Frasier in the back ground??
by Anonymous | reply 4 | March 9, 2022 3:26 PM |

Golden Girls dance marathon dance captain.

He was adorable as one of Jeanne Caron’s suitors in the movie “Margie” - not to be confused with My Little Margie. He wore a raccoon coat and did the Charleston and with Blonde Barbara Lawrence. He looked a lot like Dick York in this movie.

Jeanne CRANE not CARON!!
by Anonymous | reply 8 | March 9, 2022 3:47 PM |
CRAIN, NOT CRANE.

With gas prices the way they are, good thing he didn't have anymore octane in him.

For a moment, I read that as Conrad Jarrett and I felt like a huge weight lifted off my shoulders.

Is the grandmother from Mork & Mindy still alive? She was a hoot.

Am I alone in never finding Mork & Mindy and Happy Days remotely funny?
Laverne & Shirley had its moments but it was never as good as people made it out to be.

He's gone to be with Mork
by Anonymous | reply 16 | March 9, 2022 5:26 PM |
Nanu Nanu! Shazzbot!
by Anonymous | reply 17 | March 9, 2022 5:29 PM |
@r15, Mork & Mindy was phenomenal. No one had ever heard of Robin Williams before, so his shtick was all new to the world. Maybe it didn't age well, because we got used to Robin's routine, but there was no one like him on TV
"Nanu Nanu! Shazzbot! "
May not be funny now, but everyone was saying it then

Was Janis a Jainist?

He always came off to me as a character actor who was born to play pervy flashers and molesters. The greatest role he ever could have gotten was Humbert Humbert. Maybe there was a regional theater production of Lolita he starred in at some point?

Cindy and Penny were able to elevate the silly material, r15.

Yes.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | March 9, 2022 6:19 PM |
R6 I hated him in that role.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | March 9, 2022 6:23 PM |
Awww, what a shame.
He was great in Different Strokes.

Mork & Mindy was such a huge hit its first season, but it sure crashed pretty quickly after that. I think there was some network interference that led to retooling, but I suppose Mork's hyperactive personality was one that was going to wear its welcome out sooner rather than later.

In an interview a while back, Pam Dawber traced the decline of M&M to the removal of her father and grandmother characters. She thinks those characters grounded the show in a certain reality. That tone was lost once they were fired, and the audience just couldn't identify.

Pam.Dawber's been riding Mark Harmon's knob for a century. She'll be fine.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | March 9, 2022 6:37 PM |
Mark Harmon hasn't been hot in 20 years and probably can't get it up anymore
by Anonymous | reply 29 | March 9, 2022 6:40 PM |
I visited the Mork and Mindy house in Boulder, CO...also, the Jon-Benet house.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | March 9, 2022 6:41 PM |
Harmon was blazing hot on Flamingo Road.

@r30, been to both myself. Aren't we cool ;-)

I always got him mixed up with Conraid Bain. They were both so beautiful and both worked with Bernice Frankel.

They were reguluh Conrad Birdies!

He was kind of cute when he was younger. Resembled Jesse McCartney a bit.

Mork and Mindy was switched to opposite Archie Bunker's Place and quickly flamed out but also lost Conrad Janis and the family background.

There was a line on Community that was something like "Charming/Creepy, More from Ork, Creepy/Creepy, Robin Williams today."
