Was it because "List" sounded a little too much like Craig's List and the owner didn't want to be associated with sleazeball Craig Newmark anymore?
Why did Angie's List suddenly change its name?

Because Angie's List bought Handy and Home Advisor.
Angie rhymes with Handy and they provide a list of "screened" contractors but it's not necessarily about reviews anymore.

That and you cannot trademark Angie's list. They needed a corporate identity that was trademarked.

I will always have respect for Ango (headquartered in Indianapolis) for the way they responded to then-Governor Mike Pence's anti-LGBT Religious Freedom Law.
