New Christian Siriano show for 22/23.
He excels in evening wear. The crowd was not impressed. Good to see some big boned gals.

I hate the shiny materials at the beginning. I know fashion shows need some kind of unusual spectacle, but people don't wear vinyl/nylon/rubber unless they are playing Batman and Cat Woman or going to S&M parties, and they're not wearing Christian Siriano rubber gowns to S&M parties.

This is one thing I appreciate about him. His work for Supreme Attention Whore Billy Porter has all been so terrible I've often wondered if Siriano was trolling him.

Lots of gay and trans people are legitimately heterophobic.

I thought Brandon Maxwell’s collection was much nicer.

Good to see Coco Rocha come out for this.
I’ve never been a huge fan of his work though. There are so many talented designers who don’t get a fraction of the publicity that he does so he’s clever in that way. Making red carpet looks for the popular actresses/singers who don’t get free clothes thrown at them was a very smart move. Followed by consistently using plus size runway models. I just don’t find his looks very interesting or innovative.
This show, everything in shades of dark blue and black and very dim lighting.

It's a nice collection, but it isn't anything that hasn't been seen a million times before. However, I will say this: the style is timeless and versatile, and it can be adapted to most occasions. Moreover, I am glad to see clean lines, proper craftsmanship and well-structured, carefully thought out designs, which are things that are painfully absent from many so-called collections nowadays (fashion designers are increasingly producing pure shit that is ugly and unwearable, or else doesn't have any merit whatsoever).
Still, he isn't an Valentino, a Christian Delacroix, an Emmanuel Ungaro, a Cristóbal Balenciaga or a Thierry Mügler. He most definitely won't ever reach the glorious heights of Gianfranco Ferré or Yves Saint Laurent, by the looks of it. Those were men who took risks managed to create things that were truly elegant, majestic and sublime... Sadly, the current haute couture market is pure rubbish, and it caters to tacky nouveau riches, vulgar rappers, trashy Saudi criminals and overpaid escorts. In short, there's no class anymore - or at least, there is no one who can successfully give the impression that they have even a little of it.

How does it compare to the Gretchen Jones Collection?
