Admit it, you wrapped a scarf around your head and sashayed around your bedroom.
No, but I can sing off key just like her.

I used to lip sync in the mirror to Miss Pat Benetar.
I was fabulous!

the video at OP has a lovely rotary phone, perfect for dialing with a pencil.

They spent thousands styling her yet not a penny on voice lessons.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | March 5, 2022 2:08 PM |
No idea why people are suggesting the lovely Corrine can't sing.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | March 5, 2022 2:14 PM |
I loved Breakout. There are songs that just take you back and that is one of them.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | March 5, 2022 2:15 PM |
"Am I The Same Girl?" by Swing Out Sister is on the August 1992 Gap In-Store Playlist!

I did, and still do every now and then. The first two albums (especially the second) are excellent. Since then, each album has had one or two good songs and the rest of them veer uncomfortably close to Yoko One territory. Sorry. It's true.

Those guys are not strictly gender conforming. Why aren't they trans?

Kaleidoscope World is a perfect album. You On My Mind should have been a huge hit with its Thomas Crown video.
Emma Bunton went down the Swing Out Sister road with her solo work. It was mostly successful - Maybe being the most SOS.

Sometimes one can do a great deal with a limited voice.

I hated Break Out, but always gave props to the singer’s excellent haircut.

Sashayed?
Honey, that’s past tense.
I still sashay to this shit. When it’s a classic, you just have to!
by Anonymous | reply 19 | March 5, 2022 3:59 PM |
I'm old. No scarf was involved, but I put a terry cloth brown towel over my head and sang to this

Always a treat when I hear "Twilight World" or "Somewhere in the World" while grocery shopping.

She has a lovely tone to her voice, but she was so often just below or above the note in "Breakout."
She improved as time went on, but some songs were dotted with bum notes.
For example:

Break out my big red lipstick and bangly bracelets, Mama's goin' steppin'

by Anonymous | reply 31 | September 6, 2024 9:17 PM |
This is one of those "I didn't know they were white" songs for me.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | September 6, 2024 9:39 PM |
I've always loved SOS.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | September 6, 2024 10:47 PM |
r32 "Breakout" does have a low-key Miami Sound Machine quality to it.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | September 20, 2024 4:09 PM |
I have all their albums. When BB Kings was open in time square, they would play there. Her voice wasn't the best live but the shows were fun.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | September 20, 2024 4:16 PM |
[quote]Her voice wasn't the best live
Her voice wasn't the best recorded, either.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | September 20, 2024 4:17 PM |
My brother was convinced she sang the "That Girl" theme.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | September 20, 2024 4:28 PM |
Ugh, this fucking bitch again.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | September 20, 2024 4:39 PM |
LOL at the prisspot who stomped her hooves in another thread and said
"I will not tolerate any Corinne Drewery slander!"
Who doesn't love Corinne? She's a triple thread - can't act, can't dance, can't sing!
by Anonymous | reply 39 | September 20, 2024 4:41 PM |
Nico never sang on key either, y’know.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | September 20, 2024 6:12 PM |
You bitches are so provincial. All your taste is in your mouth.
And that taste is cheap sweets.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | September 20, 2024 6:13 PM |
R39 masturbates on a Laura Ashley bedspread with Basia playing in the background.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | September 20, 2024 6:22 PM |
Fabulous sophisticated jazz pop artists, they have gotten even better with time. One of the most underrated groups imo.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | September 20, 2024 6:30 PM |
R42 Corinne, Basia and Laura Ashley......that sounds more like the basic bitch tastes that run rampant at YOUR house, doll.
I would never.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | September 20, 2024 7:46 PM |
They were compared to EBTG when the first appeared, but quickly went the jazz/pop route, and EBTG went the dance/drum&bass route. Personally, I love them both.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | September 20, 2024 8:05 PM |
EBTG is miles better in every possible way.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | September 20, 2024 8:37 PM |
R44, there will never be a new day for you.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | September 20, 2024 10:31 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 51 | September 20, 2024 11:59 PM |
So who do you listen to, Fetus Cletus?
by Anonymous | reply 52 | September 21, 2024 12:15 AM |
I've always loved Swing Out Sister. Their music is great even though it isn't really mainstream.
by Anonymous | reply 53 | September 21, 2024 12:16 AM |
I just love the name Swing Out Sister.
But I also enjoyed their music.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | September 21, 2024 4:22 AM |
I most certainly did!
by Anonymous | reply 55 | September 21, 2024 5:03 AM |
I still think the guy on the left in OP’s pic was adorable. Andy something I believe. Crushed on him when the song first came out.
by Anonymous | reply 56 | September 21, 2024 12:33 PM |
