Who was better-looking in their prime: Madonna or Cher?

Cher in her prime was a great beauty. Madonna looked cheap next to her. No comparison.

I was rewatching some old music videos ("Material Girl," "Live to Tell," "Cherish," "Like a Prayer," "Vogue," "Justify My Love," "Take a Bow," "The Power of Goodbye") and she looked absolutely gorgeous.

Cher could be attractive/sexy, but she was never classically beautiful/pretty, IMO.

Most straight men would pick Madonna over Cher without hesitation.

Cher was never hot for straight men. Many men were repulsed by seeing her flat ass in that music video. Madonna was considered hot and men did see her as sexy. Girls wanted to look like Madonna. No girls dressed like Cher(just transvestites/eldergays in the 90s).

Cher, they aren’t even comparable. Chers beauty is still emulated. Madonnas famous “look” is a tacky figment of the 80s, people actually strive to recreate Chers beauty to this very day.

Neither were much to look at earlier in their careers. And both have had a ton of plastic surgery. Both of them evidently have a horror of aging.

Actually, girls did emulate Cher's look in the early 70s- especially the long straight hair.

And her various styles are copied by lots of celebs, singers and others now.

Madonna was more of a conventional good-looking woman. Cher was definitely more interesting to look at, but I don't think she was classically beautiful. More like a gay guy's idea of camp beautiful.

Of course Madonna, many times over. Cher is only good looking to gay men. Cher looks “special” however like a man in drag.

Madonna needed a LOT of makeup to look presentable. She never was a beautiful women but she made a HUGE effort to appeal to the straight men boners.

They are both quite beautiful. It's weird to see some people trash one or the other but I guess in the eye of the beholder. Although if I stare at anyone too long they begin looking pointy and weird to the point of being repulsive so maybe in some cases it's just overexposure.

When you watch that video, your eyes are on Cher, not the sailors. That's how sexy she was.

Madonna has a very striking unique look and that makes her so special. She’s certainly not the most beautiful woman in the world and certainly is MUCH more beautiful than Cher.
