Did Stouffers change their packaging?

Just opened a Fettucini Alfredo package and the dish it came in was white. I think it used to be black. By the way, I think this is the best frozen thing they make.

by Anonymousreply 41March 31, 2022 1:54 PM

OP again here. This is why I like this place, where else could I post something like this? Anywhoo, I sprinkle some parmesan on top towards the end of cooking and it tastes pretty good for a frozen meal.

by Anonymousreply 1March 5, 2022 1:53 AM

Rejoice, fat whore! Rejoice!

by Anonymousreply 2March 5, 2022 2:18 AM

I like their lasagna, but i doctor it up a little before I serve it. Stuffed peppers are nice too. I’ll try the Alfredo.

by Anonymousreply 3March 5, 2022 2:38 AM

Their macaroni and cheese is an evil pleasure.

by Anonymousreply 4March 5, 2022 2:39 AM

Tuna casserole with added parmesan cheese

by Anonymousreply 5March 5, 2022 2:42 AM

Isn't there a picture on the package? I wouldn't eat it if it doesn't look like the package.

by Anonymousreply 6March 5, 2022 2:55 AM

r6 the picture on the package they show it served on a regular plate. I asked my friend and he said the plastic dish it came in is black, so this must be new packaging.

by Anonymousreply 7March 5, 2022 2:59 AM

I love their French bread pizza, but can’t find it anywhere anymore.

by Anonymousreply 8March 5, 2022 3:23 AM

There's a criminal amount of sodium in most of these frozen dinners. If you eat them too often, hypertension is in your future!

by Anonymousreply 9March 5, 2022 3:38 AM

Try a gas station, R8.

by Anonymousreply 10March 5, 2022 4:13 PM

r8 I actually like the Red Baron french bread pizzas better than the Stouffers

by Anonymousreply 11March 6, 2022 12:20 AM

r8 I have seen them in Walgreens

by Anonymousreply 12March 6, 2022 12:20 AM

OP again. Tonight I had the Stouffer Fettucini Alfredo again and it is back in the black plastic bowl again. WTF? Bought it from the same store too.

by Anonymousreply 13March 31, 2022 1:35 AM

R8, it’s pretty easy to recreate. Google it.

by Anonymousreply 14March 31, 2022 1:42 AM

OP, you type fat.

In fact, if one of the toenails your caregiver clips because you can't reach your feet any longer lands on your phone or keyboard, it will type fat, too.

by Anonymousreply 15March 31, 2022 1:48 AM

r15 you're just jealous I keep my slim physique while eating some crap food now and then.

by Anonymousreply 16March 31, 2022 1:49 AM

OP- I miss the days when Swanson TV Dinners came in those aluminum trays. It was so much more pleasant to look and then paper- but in those days up until the early 1980's it would take a HELL of a long time to cook in the oven compared to putting it in the microwave and waiting 8 minutes for your HIGH FAT, HIGH SODIUM dinner- I haven't had a tv dinner since at least the mid 1990's.

If you’re ever in the Cleveland area, a trip to the factory outlet store can be good people watching. Some real bargains to be had there, as they sell off the factory seconds.

by Anonymousreply 18March 31, 2022 2:11 AM

OP another Stouffers Fett Alfredo fan here. It is decent for a frozen meal. I also like their spag and meatballs once in a great while, as a quick treat.

r8 my local stores have plenty of the French Bread pizzas, plain and pepperoni. They often have them on sale.

by Anonymousreply 19March 31, 2022 2:21 AM

I love the fettuccine alfredo but it's about 700 calories per box.

I've seen white plastic trays in Stouffer's before but it was many years ago. The spaghetti dinners would stain the tray and it looked kind of gross.

by Anonymousreply 20March 31, 2022 2:25 AM

I double checked the box last time because I think the Lean Cuisine fettucini comes in a white container.

by Anonymousreply 21March 31, 2022 2:27 AM

Yes some of the packages now come it white. I think it’s a way to disguise that the portion sizes are smaller.

by Anonymousreply 22March 31, 2022 2:29 AM

*the plastic tray thing not the packaging

by Anonymousreply 23March 31, 2022 2:29 AM

To all of the FAT WHORES posting on this thread, let me say something-

THIN tastes better.

by Anonymousreply 24March 31, 2022 2:30 AM

[quote]the dish it came in was white. I think it used to be black.

I’ll alert the media.

by Anonymousreply 25March 31, 2022 2:32 AM

The pesto chicken is really good and they put so much sauce that you can scoop half the sauce out and use it for an English muffin pesto pizza, with a little chicken and motz.

They alfredo sauce is also generous and you can scoop some out of that to make a dip.

You got to get creative in this economy.

by Anonymousreply 26March 31, 2022 2:33 AM

F-you and your pussy-ass rabbit food up the ass r24. Some of us like to eat here.

by Anonymousreply 27March 31, 2022 2:34 AM

Does anyone ever get the lean cuisine steamers? You really need two for a full meal but you can get them on sale 2/$6 or 2/$7. I get some soft taco shells to with them and make tacos out of the steamed food.

by Anonymousreply 28March 31, 2022 2:36 AM

I was at my Trader Joe's on Sunday and they had a new item. It was a LARGE frozen package of Florentine Lasagna- it looked good on the packaging but I don't need to eat all of those calories and sodium in one sitting. I'm a former FAT WHORE and I struggle every day to not binge and put the weight back on. I'm still trying to lose weight too.

by Anonymousreply 29March 31, 2022 2:37 AM

OP, the counterfeit one in the white container was poison. Good bye.

by Anonymousreply 30March 31, 2022 2:42 AM

I’m partial to the turkey tetrazzini from Stouffer‘s. I add some extra Parmesan cheese, maybe add more turkey or chicken, and sometimes crushed potato chips on top. I don’t think I’ve ever tried the Alfredo. If I did I’d add some sautéed Cajun shrimp to it or something.

by Anonymousreply 31March 31, 2022 2:43 AM

I bought this fancy shmancy pizza at Whole Foods which turned out to be so average- Feel Good Foods Four Cheese Square Pan Pizza.

It was bready tasting with little flavor or cheese and it was $9.99

by Anonymousreply 32March 31, 2022 2:44 AM

Yes what all these sodium and fat bombs need is MORE CHEESE

by Anonymousreply 33March 31, 2022 2:45 AM

OP, yes, you are correct.

I sometimes have their Lasagna, which used to come in a recyclable black dish. The last time I had one (a week or 2 ago), the dish was white.

by Anonymousreply 34March 31, 2022 3:13 AM

R32 if you ever see Vicolo Pizza in the frozen or fresh areas of the grocery grab it! They are delicious! And you can freeze them.

by Anonymousreply 35March 31, 2022 3:29 AM

R35- They look good but I live in the Northeast and Vicolo Pizza is only sold in the west.

by Anonymousreply 36March 31, 2022 3:32 AM

R36- is me R32

by Anonymousreply 37March 31, 2022 3:33 AM

I like the white dish better as it goes with my dinnerware. I've been trying to get one more white one to complete the set but I keep getting black! How can you tell which one you'll get?

by Anonymousreply 38March 31, 2022 5:22 AM

The black ones I give to my sister.

by Anonymousreply 39March 31, 2022 5:22 AM

I haven't had Stouffer's in a while, so I haven't seen the white dish. But I'd be willing to bet it's flimsier than the he black dish and was adopted as a cost-cutting measure.

by Anonymousreply 40March 31, 2022 11:47 AM

Nothing can compare to a frozen TV dinner in the eighties because that was ALL we had. And, you know, a TV.
