Amanda Seyfried

Yay or nay?

I personally like her, but would never nominate her for anything and I'm not snobby by any means.

I like to think of her Oscar nod for "Mank" as an overall career achievement thing. Like Rachel McAdams for "Spotlight" and Kirsten Dunst for TPOTD.

by Anonymousreply 31December 3, 2022 10:40 PM

WTF is TPOTD?

by Anonymousreply 1March 3, 2022 11:31 PM

Don't ask Sam Elliott...

by Anonymousreply 2March 3, 2022 11:32 PM

I like her -- mostly because I recognize her. She's in two of my favorite trashy movies: Chloe and Jennifer's Body. She's also been good in better productions such as Mean Girls and Veronica Mars.

As a 46 year-old elder lez, I'm not much aware of younger actors. Seyfried (along with Jennifer Lawrence, Rachel McAdams, and Margot Robbie) stands amongst actresses I recognize on sight these days. Don't know if that's old age or simply because I don't care. Probably a little of both.

This week I've been cycling through 70s made-for-tv movies on Youtube, so these younger whippersnappers don't hold a candle to Jaclyn Smith, Donna Mills, or Stefanie Powers.

Terrific actress, a beauty and a beautiful voice. Skip to 3:38 for her singing "Mean Ol Moon". Worth it. Best part of that silly film, Ted 2.

She’s not pretty enough and her singing voice is just average. I don’t know who she fucked to get her resume.

by Anonymousreply 5March 4, 2022 12:02 AM

Horrible actress. Her lines in Mank were rushed and it was obvious she didn’t understand the dialogue. She ruins every musical.

by Anonymousreply 6March 4, 2022 12:07 AM

Gretchen who?

I also remember her from the film "Chloe": I thought that both of them were so talented, round, big and amazing.

by Anonymousreply 8March 4, 2022 12:20 AM

Like her eyes

by Anonymousreply 9March 4, 2022 12:23 AM

She's beautiful but R7's pic looks like an oil painting

by Anonymousreply 10March 4, 2022 12:25 AM

Yay and hot 🔥

by Anonymousreply 11March 6, 2022 2:47 AM

Like her as an actress but will always see her with Justin Long’s dick in her mouth. Whoever leaked that photo of her giving him head really did her dirty.

by Anonymousreply 12March 6, 2022 2:51 AM

R7 they went overboard with the ps in that photo.

by Anonymousreply 13March 6, 2022 4:50 AM

Chloe (2009) needed a campier/trashier ending.

by Anonymousreply 14March 9, 2022 11:12 PM

Annoying. Mainly because of her whiny voice.

by Anonymousreply 15March 9, 2022 11:22 PM

I loved her in The Dropout. Never saw her in anything else, never heard of her before that.

by Anonymousreply 16March 10, 2022 12:02 AM

Mean Girls!

by Anonymousreply 17March 10, 2022 6:51 AM

I think she's capable of much better work than she's done. Probably doesn't get cast in tonnes of edgy roles because of her blonde, pretty, girl-next-door / high school cheerleader look. She went to some very dark places in Veronica Mars, and in other work like Big Love and Nine Lives she has a great subtlety and naturalism on screen.

I haven't seen Lovelace or her new Elizabeth Holmes series, but it seems that while she's been in some good movies (Mank, Mean Girls, etc.), she hasn't quite found the proper vehicle to launch herself as a serious actress, the way, say, Margot Robbie did with I Tonya.

by Anonymousreply 18March 10, 2022 12:11 PM

She was actually decent in Lovelace. Seyfried is definitely quite gorgeous but not the easiest to cast. I recently watched her in Things Heard and Seen, the movie started off good but really went to crap. That wasn't her fault though.

by Anonymousreply 19March 11, 2022 4:16 AM

She has a suburban, sheltered princess vibe much like Natalie Portman.

A smugness that makes you feel nothing truly bad could ever happen to them.

This makes them boring.

by Anonymousreply 20March 11, 2022 4:23 AM

She has some comedic chops which is what makes her standout. I think she is pretty and can act, but whoever called her voice "beautiful" must literally be Mickey Mouse to find that paper-thin warbly helium voice of hers beautiful.

by Anonymousreply 21March 11, 2022 4:27 AM

Bump for a talented beauty . What’s she like fox camera ?

by Anonymousreply 22December 3, 2022 4:21 PM

Off camera ☝🏼 lol but she’s definitely a fox 🦊

by Anonymousreply 23December 3, 2022 4:21 PM

She’s so hot

by Anonymousreply 24December 3, 2022 4:23 PM

Her best work . . .

I like her and I like her voice.

by Anonymousreply 26December 3, 2022 4:25 PM

She's far too young for Norma Desmond.

by Anonymousreply 27December 3, 2022 4:26 PM

Bump for this beauty

by Anonymousreply 28December 3, 2022 7:54 PM

R25, wasn’t there a rumor she’s gay or bi? This could be a deflection

by Anonymousreply 29December 3, 2022 7:59 PM

She has bug-eyes.

by Anonymousreply 30December 3, 2022 8:19 PM

Amanda lives on a small ranch/ farm with horses , dogs and other animals.
