That is incredibly difficult, as there are good-looking people who possess similar levels of beauty everywhere. It's nearly impossible to find someone who epithomizes human beauty for each gender.

So, I will just add someone I find both very handsome and attractive, but I know didn't have the "best-looking" male face ever: Jeff Speakman.

Unlike now, during Hollywood's Golden Age there were many genuinely beautiful actresses. One of these lesser known beauties is Jennifer Jones, who had some stellar moments with Duel In The Sun, Ruby Gentry, Madame Bovary, The Song of Bernadette (fo which she won the Oscar for Best Actress) and Love Is a Many-Splendored Thing.

She didn't need to be ambitious because she married the hideous David O Selznick, which is probably why she isn't more famous, but she was a great beauty indeed.

Jones was a neurotic mess, though. Selznick begged his first wife, the connected and sensible daughter of Louis B. Mayer, not to divorce him over the affair with Jones because then he'd have to marry his mistress. His career was never the same once he married Jones, either. Robert Walker, the husband Jones left for Selznick, was destroyed by the divorce and died within a few years. Selznick and Jones' only daughter committed suicide in her early 20s by jumping off a building.

R34 on a man a square jaw (think Redford in his prime) is very attractive, on a woman usually not so much (Pfeiffer is an exception).

That said, I disagree with one thing - digital cameras and HD video are extremely unforgiving (and why so many now go crazy with the PS and fillers) - the lighting and overexposure of classic photos (not to mention good old studio styling) could erase/soften all but the most glaring flaws.

R44, Interesting choice. Ann-Margaret never struck me as beautiful. Attractive maybe, in a very 'hard' looking way. When she fell off that platform and messed up her face and jaw, she never looked quite right afterward. It was a very traumatic injury. On another note, her husband Roger Smith was not only very handsome, but he was also a real nice guy. I never saw him be unpleasant to anyone.
