Play Misty For Me was not a documentary about mental illness, nor is it a particularly accurate portrayal of mental illness, so you can get off your high horse. It's a silly slasher film worthy of mockery, that allows Clint Eastwood to kill someone after he is "forced" to do so (again). Commodified outrage, controlling other people's expression and policing speech don't fly on a board primarily populated with gay men.
