Harry Belafonte, who turns 95 today, leads an all-star cast in the interracial romance, "Island in the Sun." Tame by today's standards, the subject matter was daring for 1957. The cast (Dorothy Dandridge, Joan Collins, James Mason, Stephen Boyd, Michael Rennie, Joan Fontaine, etc.) and Caribbean scenery make this super soap fairly watchable. My look at "Island":
My goodness, he was so beautiful. He must be sad without his boy Sidney Poitier around. They were born within ten days of each other.
