What did Estee Lauder's John Demsey share on social media?

He got fired for sharing something racist.

I can't find the actual wording.

He looks ghoulish.

by Anonymousreply 1February 28, 2022 5:29 PM

Something about Sesame Street with a racist Big Bird meme.

by Anonymousreply 2February 28, 2022 5:57 PM

A ridiculous cartoon image of Big Bird using the "n" word.

by Anonymousreply 3February 28, 2022 6:00 PM

He was pulling in $9.6 million per year?

by Anonymousreply 4February 28, 2022 6:00 PM

He forwarded something that said the n word???!?!

by Anonymousreply 5February 28, 2022 6:03 PM

Gross. You mean to tell me Estée Lauder doesn’t make some kind of anti-shine serum or powder?

by Anonymousreply 6February 28, 2022 6:20 PM

How does one get to the N word via Big Bird? Confusing and odd. But not nearly as odd as how someone so ghoulish looking was the head of a cosmetics empire...

If he was raking in nearly $10 million per year, then he's set for life.

One has to wonder how Demsey labeled Estée Lauder’s dark skin products.

The “n” word was the one that ends in an “A”. I thought that one was fair game.

I guarantee you that if he posted something with the word “fag” or “retard” in it, he would still have his job. That is the true hypocrisy of woke culture.

by Anonymousreply 23March 1, 2022 10:51 AM

I have assumed something is unlikely to happen. If in fact that didn’t happen, that would be inconsistent with something that actually happened The hypocrisy of wokeism has been devastatingly revealed by R 23

by Anonymousreply 24March 1, 2022 11:09 AM

Oh, fuck-off, r23 'ya whiny snowflake.

In addition to the racial slur in this, in posting this he demonstrated stupidity to such a high degree as to question his fitness for any job, let alone what was this one.

I have no social media accounts because I canceled me first.

It took me about 10 seconds to realize to, " Gee, with this device, I can tap out any ill-considered, half-witted, bigoted, foolish, stupid thought my random neurons can concoct, type the same into it, and then instantly send it out into the world?"

Nope, not for me, which, admittedly, is one common sense decision in my life that, every day, is more confirmed in its rightness.

by Anonymousreply 25March 1, 2022 11:09 AM

OMG HE SHARED A MEME!

by Anonymousreply 26March 1, 2022 11:16 AM

I don’t get the reference of the meme.

He doesn’t look the type that would either.

Other than n***a, which doesn’t seem racist, just seems like something this guy would never use himself, and what?

The idea that black people aren’t getting vaccinated and are ultimately regretting it?

by Anonymousreply 27March 1, 2022 11:20 AM

"n***a" doesn't seem racist? Who are you, Joe Rogan?

What kind of moron doesn't see the obvious racism?

by Anonymousreply 29March 1, 2022 11:34 AM

When you earn over ten million a year, the people paying you that amount of money might just have an expectation that you avoid massive screwups. Most of us earning far less than he is know we could get fired for things less serious than what he did. If he can’t avoid sending our racist memes, which 99 percent of us manage to do without difficulty, it’s perhaps time he pursue new interests and opportunity. The end of his 31 year career is tragic—-along with the deaths of Ukrainian civilians—-but we can hope this tragic victim of wokeism cobbles together some sort of existence from the tens of millions has been paid over his career.

by Anonymousreply 30March 1, 2022 11:38 AM

The meme is one passed around by rightwingers and Q loons who frequently say things like "the Democratic elite won't force blacks to wear masks at their black people concerts, but our precious children are forced to wear masks at schools." You heard this kind of thing a lot more during BLM protests but it's still out there.

Posting mostly for r27.

by Anonymousreply 31March 1, 2022 11:38 AM

I believe he called Estee a royal cunt.

by Anonymousreply 32March 1, 2022 11:40 AM

R27. You know him personally ? Otherwise, how do you know what he would say? Social media and camera phones have taught is that a lot of people say things we might not think they would say.

by Anonymousreply 33March 1, 2022 11:43 AM

I personally blame Ester Lauder for hiring someone with the mental age of 11 to work for them.

by Anonymousreply 34March 1, 2022 11:48 AM

Fuck you R28, you worthless piece of shit.

You want get down to it, let’s get down to it.

Big Bird loves Snuffy, there’s has never been a question about that.

The slang term ‘my n***a’ has only ever been used to indicate close regard of a friend or loved one, Big Bird wasn’t disparaging while using that term while referring to his friend.

And you knew that.

But you’re woke and I’m Rogan and an idiot.

You’re fucking pathetic.

by Anonymousreply 35March 1, 2022 11:54 AM

by Anonymousreply 36March 1, 2022 11:56 AM

Oh shut up, R33 - you really think this guy would refer to his friends as my n***a?

You don’t have to know him to know that.

Are you really trying to equate using n***a and n***er?

Get outta here

by Anonymousreply 37March 1, 2022 11:58 AM

This is what they do. They provoke, then they have a huge tantrum. It's all they know anymore: be offensive, mock anyone who is offended, then get offended by the consequences. Lather, rinse, repeat.

I'm so tired of infantile right wingers. You've had this shit explained to you a hundred times but you still cling to your backwards beliefs like "The slang term ‘my n***a’ has only ever been used to indicate close regard of a friend or loved one," -- no, it wasn't. There's a fucking Wikipedia page about it!

GROW UP.

by Anonymousreply 41March 1, 2022 12:09 PM

R25,

You are stupid beyond belief. The N-word ending in “A” is not a racial slur, that has been long-established. I never say the N-word in any form, because I feel that only low-class, poorly educated individuals of any race communicate that way.

If you are a gay man and think that someone should be fired you reposting a meme that has the word n—-a on it, in a world that accepts the word faggot, you are self-loathing. If you’re not a gay man and you accept this, you’re on the wrong site.

I am neither whiny nor a snowflake. I am just confident to stand up for what is right. Unlike you, I trust my self on social media that is NOT anonymous. You seem like a real loser.

by Anonymousreply 42March 1, 2022 12:23 PM

Idiots R39 R41 did you even READ the link you’re referencing?
The use of nigger non-pejoratively within the black community was documented in the 1912 book The Autobiography of an Ex-Colored Man by James Weldon Johnson, in which he recounted a scene in New York City around the turn of the century:[1]
I noticed that among this class of colored men the word "nigger" was freely used in about the same sense as the word "fellow," and sometimes as a term of almost endearment; but I soon learned that its use was positively and absolutely prohibited to white men.
Some African-Americans only consider nigga offensive when used by people of other races,[2] seeing its use outside a defined social group as an unwelcome cultural appropriation. Used by blacks, the term may indicate "solidarity or affection",[6] similar to the usage of the words dude, homeboy, and bro. Others consider nigga non-offensive except when directed from a non-African-American towards an African-American.

by Anonymousreply 47March 1, 2022 1:17 PM

To the racist on this thread who claims "n***a" has never had controversy associated with is, this is from the Wikipedia link you glossed right over:
There is conflicting popular opinion on whether there is any meaningful difference between nigga and nigger as a spoken term.[bold]Many people consider the terms to be equally pejorative, and the use of nigga both in and outside black communities remains controversial.[/bold] H. Lewis Smith, author of Bury That Sucka: A Scandalous Love Affair with the N-word, believes that "replacing the 'er' with an 'a' changes nothing other than the pronunciation"[4] and the African American Registry notes, "Brother (Brotha) and Sister (Sistah or Sista) are terms of endearment. Nigger was and still is a word of disrespect."[bold] The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, a civil rights group, condemns use of both nigga and nigger.[/bold]
Some African-Americans only consider nigga offensive when used by people of other races, seeing its use outside a defined social group as an unwelcome cultural appropriation.

You are indeed racist if you steadfastly refuse what people have repeatedly tried to tell you about that word: it's not yours to use, nor is it yours to decide whether or not it is offensive. It is offensive, and if you refuse to see that, you are a textbook racist and nothing more.

Since blocking you reveals that you use this word quite liberally in your own posts, we all can see right through you. You're so invested in this precisely because of your own racism. And you know this on some level, clearly.
