I am not HIV-positive, yet I’ve seen this ad like 20 times tonight… unless YouTube knows something I don’t?
Why does YouTube keep showing me Cabenuva ads?

Well, they obviously know you're queer.

Youtube knows you are a cumdump.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | February 28, 2022 5:35 AM |
Because YT thinks you're a whore, Darlin'.

You're not poz, OP....
However, you are pregnant as hell.

It means you were assigned "most likely to contract HIV" either at birth, or by your senior superlatives committee in high school.

Which website’s cookies would lead YT to figure that out r2?

YouTube (and the rest of us) know you are in for a bit of a surprise at the free clinic next week.

Get Youtube Premium and you don't have to worry about those pesky ads.

I use my browser for YouTube and never see any ads, try it.

If anyone in your household has look at "gay stuff" then your IP address, Internet provider, etc. provide a wealth of information to advertisers and Google, etc. You can thwart this quite a bit by way of private browsing windows, OpenDNS, VPNs, etc. but you can make yourself overly paranoid if you're not careful.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | March 2, 2022 2:32 PM |
R13 Isn't that rude though? That they just assumed anyone looking at "gay" stuff is HIV positive?

R8 Doublelist.

Youtube via a browser (Firefox) with Adblock Plus = NO ads even during videos. ABP kills them all.

Me too when I watch a Reno Gold or Mario or Travis YT.

Are you that little bald twerp in the TV ad shuffling about the dance floor with a massive karaoke bar transvestite with the look of love in your eyes? You’re my favorite part!
by Anonymous | reply 18 | March 5, 2022 9:46 PM |
Lol r18 I know exactly who you mean 😄 I think that was a different drug though. That dude looks so simultaneously terrified and turned on, as I imagine someone in that situation would be. Good actor.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | March 5, 2022 9:49 PM |
Why are the people in these ads always poc?
by Anonymous | reply 20 | March 5, 2022 9:50 PM |
Because otherwise the advertiser is deemed racist and is cancelled.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | March 5, 2022 9:57 PM |
"Cabenuva" sounds like a tropical resort in Brazil.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | March 5, 2022 10:07 PM |
because you are too stupid to install adblock.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | March 5, 2022 10:18 PM |
Now I’m curious about that ad, r18/r19. Anyone have a link?

Orlando, the avuncular Black man with a full set of acrylic nails and a fedora, really drives me up a wall. And not in a good way.

wavey davey?

OP... These spots make one believe Pharma have no experts at marketing. Some of the most obscure drugs for the rarest of conditions seem be everywhere now, or at least in the US. It is odd that they're not more tailored to a specific audience. On YT I get the advert for the biologic for Crohn's and Ulcerative Colitis about five or six times each visit. Seems like a massive waste of money to me.

It’s still a helluva lot more targeted than linear tv.
Watch MSNBC and you’ll see tons of HIV ads also. Generally the ads are pretty good. They destigmatize HIV and give people hope.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | May 1, 2022 2:29 AM |
Because too many YT viewers were offing themselves over having to hear the tortuous vocal fry over and over from the annoying-voiced "Grammarly" ads woman, OP.

It's even worse watching CW shows via their Xbox1 app in Miami... every eighth ad or so is in Spanish, which makes ZERO economic sense to me. By definition, 100% of the people watching The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, or Batwoman know English, because the show ITSELF is in English... but regardless of how high the percentage of Spanish speaking viewers might be in Miami, it's well south of 100%, so those ads are completely WASTED on the non-Spanish-speaking viewers who are watching an English slang have TV show.
I think their ad agency is just plain incompetent.
Regardless, Hulu's ads are endlessly for Dovato, Trulicity, and Descovy for PrEP.

Update to R30. Apparently, the whole way ad agencies buy TV ads has gotten turned on its head with streaming. They don't actually BUY deliberate ads for specific TV shows... they just dump huge amounts of cash into a vast AI ad-broker hopper that automatically bids on upcoming streaming ad spots & buys them for fractions of a cent almost at random.
That's why English shows being watched by gringos end up with Spanish ads, and sometimes they'll literally show the exact same ad 2 or 3 times back to back, then do it again during the next commercial break. The bid algorithm blindly throws out an offer like 17/1000 cent for the next slot, and the network takes the offer because nobody else bids in time to beat them (or wants to). The individual impressions are so cheap, they don't even CARE about being "efficient". It's literally ad-spam.
