Total pet peeve - but I can't stand this news magazine radio show/podcast. They play it every evening on my local NPR affiliate during my car ride home from work and it makes me want to cut my ears off. From host Michael Barbaro's intentional inflection ("it's....... February 23, 2022"), to the twangy dissonant guitar riffs and music interjections every other minute, to the poetic descriptions from the interviewers, to the sounds of traffic and street noise as they interview people outdoors - it's all just so manufactured. I'm as liberal as they come, but this program drives me insane. Anyone else?

I so agree! It's doubly annoying because the subjects and material are usually very interesting.

Michael Barbaro is a thin-skinned, duplicitous jackass. He could do with substantially more integrity and self-respect.

Agree 100%

Michael Barbaro switching from a same-sex marriage to a hetero one should be DL catnip.

I want to barf each time Barbaro mentions his child.

Wow! I didn't realize Michael Barbaro used to be in a gay marriage and left his husband for a woman. I did some Googling and it turns out he left his husband for his female producer of The Daily. Now I like the show even less, which I didn't think was possible.
