AM Soft Rock Radio - Help
So I’ve been building a playlist on Spotify inspired by the soft rock of the 70’s and early 80’s.
The late 70’s and early 80’s soft rock had a distinct sound. Acoustic guitars, electric pianos, the music and vocals were usually soft and it was cheesy.
Good movie to listen to in your car.
Does anyone have any favorites I can add to my playlist?

I didn't listen to AM radio much after 1967, so I don't think of these songs as AM, specifically. "Mellow" is the category in which I place the great majority of this music. My song from Boz Scaggs' Silk Degrees is "What Do You Want the Girl to Do?", but to me, it's an album track. Another favorite album is Stevie Wonder's Fulfillingness First Finale, on which I have no idea what the hits, or singles, might have been. The entire album might fit this category.
The song I feel compelled to post this morning is 1968's "Quicksilver Girl" by the Steve Miller Band, who seemed like a completely different band at the time than the one we heard later, in the 1970s. I have no idea whether it played on the radio, however.
Kudos to the guy(s) who posted the Melissa Manchester songs. "Come in from the Rain," "Better Days," and "Midnight Blue" are favorites of mine

R344, not a big Andy Gibb fan, but I did like his second Number 1 hit (Love Is) Thicker Than Water. Yes it has the stupidest title of any hit song ever, but the melody is great, especially the fade out ending.
Trivia: That song knocked out his brothers "Stayin Alive" from the number one spot, then he got knocked out of it by his brothers' "Night Fever". In 1978, it was ALL Gibb.

Thanks R356. It'll help out some new folks to the thread. I know I won't post any of them!
Poor R353 wants to label a group with 2 or 3 word descriptions.
If that was the case you couldn't post "Rapture" by Blondie to a rap thread since they weren't considered rappers or "Island Of Lost Souls" to a reggae thread because they weren't considered reggae artists.
The above 2 songs that I posted by the Go-Go's would've been played by the soft rock stations in my area because they fit the bill. No one said that they were soft rock artists. Get over your stupid labels.
Jane (& the group) have done some songs about the surf music genre, Belinda did "I Never Wanted A Rich Man' which was country, The Graces did "Tomorrow" which was folk, & Gina has done some songs from House Of Schock that had a country feel to them. Artists dabble in other genres. It happens. Get over it.
