Vintage Bitches: Jessica Walter in "Play Misty for Me"

Considered a precursor to Fatal Attraction, this film explores the shattered mind of a music fan with Borderline Personality Disorder who sets her sights on a radio DJ in California. The woman is alternately sweet and dangerous, vulnerable and vicious.

Jessica Walter said she set out to play this character as a tragic figure. She was violently unstable and doomed from the start, but we're meant to pity her more than fear her.

How does she stack up to Glenn Close's Alex in Fatal Attraction?

Genius casting in evidence here. Jessica Walter’s giant expressive face is so amazing.

I really admired her acting, including the three amazing first seasons of Arrested Development. She was just so cool and so gorgeous. A real presence. It’s rare for me to be genuinely sad when a performer passes away, but losing her hurt. She was just great in almost everything.

Jessica Walters IS Datalounge in “Datalounge: Behind the Tears and Laughter”

God, I loved her.

One of my all time favorites, I watched this a few times during quarantine. She is genuinely infuriating as this character.BPD?

She was originally the voice of Chucky. They even made a cut of it. She ended up getting fired because the female voice just made Chucky sound gay.

Glenn? Not even on her best day.

"Fatal Attraction" was just a rip off of this movie. "Play Misty For Me" was definitely superior.
