No. My mom used to dress in a stylish yet comfortable way (yet never slutty). That was until she started to suffer from chronic pain and just didn't give a damn about anything anymore. Now she just puts on sweat pants and a T-shirt.

My mom dressed FLASHY. Bright colors, lots of costume jewelry and her Annie Miller bouffant. She walked tall and proud in her highest heels and didn’t give a fuck what anybody thought. I was born in '69 and my mom was a tried and true hippy throughout my entire childhood. She was very petite (5'0"), about 95-100 lbs, extremely flat chested.

That said, she never wore peasant skirts or blouses or typical "hippy" clothes; she grew up in an upper class home in NY (near the city), and so her wardrobe was pretty sophisticated.
