Regina Hall, Amy Schumer and Wanda Sykes to Host Oscars
by Anonymous | reply 175 | February 18, 2022 1:28 PM |
I won’t be watching.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | February 14, 2022 8:43 PM |
It never goes well when they split host duties.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | February 14, 2022 8:47 PM |
Love Wanda!
by Anonymous | reply 3 | February 14, 2022 8:49 PM |
Regina Hall was only ever funny as "Brenda" in the Scary Movie franchise. She has no range otherwise. Amy Schumer was only funny when she was a dick-seeking single. Marriage and motherhood have made her into a truly fat slag who wines in sweatpants. Wanda Sykes hasn't been too funny since she went Lez and adopted kids. She's morphing into Paula Poundstone, only without the drunken molestation.
Here's a better trio: Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, and Maya Rudolph.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | February 14, 2022 8:50 PM |
One thing you gotta give 2022... it's been a great year for hate watching.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | February 14, 2022 8:52 PM |
Sykes & King? Fine. Schumer? I hope this broadcast fails even more than last year's.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | February 14, 2022 8:52 PM |
Doesn’t Regina Hall have a dead child she should be mourning? Is this really a good idea for her at this time?
by Anonymous | reply 7 | February 14, 2022 8:54 PM |
Some other broads who'd be good at this:
Melissa McCarthy (if paired with someone mellow)
Whitney Cummings (her writing always outshines her loud delivery)
Samantha Bee
Cecily Strong
Kate McKinnon
We can be Woke AND make a joke!
by Anonymous | reply 8 | February 14, 2022 8:57 PM |
Wanda Sykes, Tina Fey, and Ricky Gervais?
by Anonymous | reply 9 | February 14, 2022 8:57 PM |
What an unappealing trio.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | February 14, 2022 8:58 PM |
So, Amy is the white luscious filling in the Oreo, is she still double stuff?
by Anonymous | reply 11 | February 14, 2022 8:59 PM |
R9 Would never happen. Hollywood is fine to let the Golden Globes be smashed by a vulgarian who calls them on their shit. Nobody watches that ceremony.
But the Oscars are supposed to bring class, and/or make a statement about the industry that marginally more people will hear and see. There's a reason you'll see Lisa Kudrow or Aziz Ansari host the MTV Movie Awards, but not the Academy Awards.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | February 14, 2022 9:00 PM |
Wanda would have been sufficient. And in a good way.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | February 14, 2022 9:01 PM |
I like Regina and Wanda, so I'll just mute Amy whenever she opens her maw.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | February 14, 2022 9:02 PM |
Wanda is the only worthy one. Who actually likes Amy Schumer?
by Anonymous | reply 15 | February 14, 2022 9:02 PM |
Amy Schumer.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | February 14, 2022 9:04 PM |
Bitches please....most of you will be reading and commenting on the annual Oscars thread, real time.

by Anonymous | reply 18 | February 14, 2022 9:06 PM |
OP? You’re so boring and predictable.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | February 14, 2022 9:08 PM |
I knew Regina would get it. She was basically auditioning for the roll during the opening last year.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | February 14, 2022 9:08 PM |
Love them!
by Anonymous | reply 21 | February 14, 2022 9:09 PM |
R17 We will be hate-watching.
I want to see something as grotesque and pathetic as last year's veteran Glenn Close jigging around like a Hottentot.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | February 14, 2022 9:12 PM |
I don't know that I care enough this year to watch.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | February 14, 2022 9:14 PM |
Wanda alone would really be the better option. Tina Fey and Amy Pohler are a good team, but they’ve worked together for years. You can’t get that same chemistry by throwing together three random women simply because they are all comedians.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | February 14, 2022 9:16 PM |
“She was basically auditioning for the roll during the opening last year.” Role ROLE!
by Anonymous | reply 25 | February 14, 2022 9:20 PM |
What the fuck is that white woman doing there?
by Anonymous | reply 26 | February 14, 2022 9:22 PM |
[quote] I knew Regina would get it. She was basically auditioning for the roll during the opening last year.
Is she doing an Esther Rolle biopic?
by Anonymous | reply 27 | February 14, 2022 9:23 PM |
No Laverne Cox?
by Anonymous | reply 28 | February 14, 2022 9:24 PM |
Has Laverne even been in a movie movie?
by Anonymous | reply 29 | February 14, 2022 9:26 PM |
I don't get having three woman to do it. I know women having gotten the short end of the stick in the past but, it's going from one extreme to another. How about two woman and one (gay) guy?
by Anonymous | reply 30 | February 14, 2022 9:27 PM |
I guess Beanie is to busy on Broadway to participate? It would have been nice to have the sister act together again.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | February 14, 2022 9:28 PM |
I would rather mastu rbate with one of these things before I'd willingly watch that

by Anonymous | reply 34 | February 14, 2022 9:34 PM |
Amy Schumer is still a thing?
by Anonymous | reply 35 | February 14, 2022 9:38 PM |
Regina and Wanda don’t need help. And whoever said Regina doesn’t have range…sounds like an idiot.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | February 14, 2022 9:38 PM |

He was in Promising Young Woman.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | February 14, 2022 9:38 PM |
They should replace Amy with Leslie Jordan.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | February 14, 2022 9:39 PM |
Dear dingbats…Regina Hall and Regina King are two different women!!
🙀
by Anonymous | reply 39 | February 14, 2022 9:42 PM |
I only know Regina King from scary movie. Is she even a comedian ? She has never really been on my radar.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | February 14, 2022 9:43 PM |
[quote] "Sykes & King? Fine."
Oh, dear. I got the wrong Regina.
I liked Hall in the "Scary Movie" franchise (she was thr best part), & in "Malibu's Most Wanted".
by Anonymous | reply 41 | February 14, 2022 9:43 PM |
Regina Hall is a talented actress who has done comedy and drama. But we know that white gays rarely watch things with black people in it.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | February 14, 2022 9:46 PM |
That’s the real gag!
by Anonymous | reply 43 | February 14, 2022 9:52 PM |
I always thought Regina meant virgin, but it mean queen.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | February 14, 2022 9:56 PM |
Why did they ask Eugene Levy and his son?
by Anonymous | reply 45 | February 14, 2022 9:58 PM |
Amy? She’s so ugly and stupid. They couldn’t book any actual movie stars?
by Anonymous | reply 46 | February 14, 2022 10:00 PM |
Amy will host the first hour, which means the audience will have vanished by the time the other two get on stage.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | February 14, 2022 10:01 PM |
Allegedly Amy Schumer steals jokes. Allegedly.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | February 14, 2022 10:14 PM |
This sounds like the ninth circle of hell.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | February 14, 2022 10:17 PM |
How low can they get with AS
by Anonymous | reply 50 | February 14, 2022 10:19 PM |
Are all three choices acceptable with Jada?
by Anonymous | reply 51 | February 14, 2022 10:20 PM |
I like Regina Hell. So I guess I 33.3% agree with this decision.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | February 14, 2022 10:21 PM |
R15, Cousin Chuck.
by Anonymous | reply 53 | February 14, 2022 10:24 PM |
R7, That was Regina King.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | February 14, 2022 10:26 PM |
Whoopi and Mel Gibson should co-host.
by Anonymous | reply 55 | February 14, 2022 10:27 PM |
I could do without Amy the Cow.
by Anonymous | reply 56 | February 14, 2022 10:30 PM |
Stop televising this shitshow already.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | February 14, 2022 10:31 PM |
Truly these will be the Oscars we deserve.
by Anonymous | reply 58 | February 14, 2022 10:31 PM |
[quote] Regina Hall is a talented actress who has done comedy and drama. But we know that white gays rarely watch things with black people in it.
Gee, I wonder why.
by Anonymous | reply 59 | February 14, 2022 10:32 PM |
I LOVE the suggestion of Whoopi and Mel Gibson!!!!!!
by Anonymous | reply 60 | February 14, 2022 10:36 PM |
Sounds like the only people that would accept the gig. Amy Schumer is promoting her new Hulu show which looks like shit.
And what do any of them have to do with movies? Besides submitting to Jada’s blacks must be represented more than Asians or Latins rule, they make no sense as presenters.
by Anonymous | reply 61 | February 14, 2022 10:43 PM |
Replace Amy Schumer with Jennifer Coolidge and then it'd be good enough.
I dunno.
Regina Hall is a well rounded talent and Wanda Sykes is funny as heck to me. They are both also naturally pretty ladies. Amy Schumer is just pointless and she's not really all that funny or anything. I don't get it.
by Anonymous | reply 62 | February 14, 2022 10:47 PM |
44% weren't going to watch it but they'll be bitching about it here throughout the show.
by Anonymous | reply 63 | February 14, 2022 10:50 PM |
Wanda Sykes seems to wear a permanent sneer.
by Anonymous | reply 64 | February 14, 2022 10:59 PM |
They couldn't find a third black woman?
by Anonymous | reply 65 | February 14, 2022 11:14 PM |
I was available, R65
by Anonymous | reply 66 | February 14, 2022 11:15 PM |
So much kowtowing for such a minority. Everything must be black - the only minority that matters.
by Anonymous | reply 67 | February 14, 2022 11:17 PM |
Jada had some nerve announcing a boycott of the Oscars ceremony, and holding court like some kind of racial arbiter.
Bitch, you're not even a voting Academy member. And your husband is only a member because of old nominations. He's never won. You have less right to be in that audience than Hayley Mills and Buzz Lightyear.
by Anonymous | reply 68 | February 14, 2022 11:17 PM |
WHET Billy Porter? Guaranteed ratings killer.
by Anonymous | reply 69 | February 14, 2022 11:21 PM |
R69 A man in a dress, whose every word is insufferably self-serving and pointless?
Amy Schumer has that covered.
by Anonymous | reply 70 | February 14, 2022 11:22 PM |
Billy will be singing every nominated song.
by Anonymous | reply 71 | February 14, 2022 11:24 PM |
R68 is just a racist Trump voter, looking to lash out at a black woman
by Anonymous | reply 72 | February 14, 2022 11:25 PM |
R49 sounds like a racist misogynist. There is nothing wrong with these women and one is openly gay.
Fuck you, Klan Grannies
by Anonymous | reply 73 | February 14, 2022 11:26 PM |
I still have no idea what transportation center this year’s awards are taking place in???
by Anonymous | reply 74 | February 14, 2022 11:26 PM |
interesting--I wonder if they seriously went to Tom Holland? Could they not make a deal?
by Anonymous | reply 75 | February 15, 2022 12:11 AM |
OP- I don't know anything about her but Amy Schumer is SO average looking- I mean someone who's tastes and everything about her just look so AVERAGE.
by Anonymous | reply 76 | February 15, 2022 12:15 AM |
R68 , Hayley actually is an Oscar winner.
by Anonymous | reply 77 | February 15, 2022 12:34 AM |
Hey, Hayley MIlls has a special Oscar for a film she starred in. She looked great in a show I saw her in a few years ago in NY. Plus she had her autobiography out recently. You know how many girls are named Hayley because of Ms. Mills? Don't diss Hayley.
by Anonymous | reply 78 | February 15, 2022 12:35 AM |
These three ladies have the cred to host. Regina has an Oscar. Wanda has an Emmy. And Amy has an MTV Movie Award.
by Anonymous | reply 80 | February 15, 2022 1:48 AM |
Regina KING has an Oscar, R80. Not Regina Hall.
by Anonymous | reply 81 | February 15, 2022 1:55 AM |
King, Hall, what’s the diff?
by Anonymous | reply 82 | February 15, 2022 2:03 AM |
[quote] But the Oscars are supposed to bring class, and/or make a statement about the industry that marginally more people will hear and see.
This calls for a SURE JAN if I ever saw one.
by Anonymous | reply 83 | February 15, 2022 2:14 AM |
Can't tell them apart, R82?
by Anonymous | reply 84 | February 15, 2022 2:15 AM |
It seems like they went to men first who all turned it down. Why these three is anyone’s guess.
by Anonymous | reply 85 | February 15, 2022 2:55 AM |
I like Wanda, but even she can't entice me to ever watch an awards show.
by Anonymous | reply 86 | February 15, 2022 3:13 AM |
I must be a jerk because I like Amy, in addition to Wanda. Regina, I have no impression of her at all.
by Anonymous | reply 87 | February 15, 2022 4:03 AM |
I'm terrified that a 59 year-old drifter will find his way into my Oscar party and open fire.
by Anonymous | reply 88 | February 15, 2022 4:19 AM |
Regina King stole scenes as Brenda in Scary Movie but has proved herself capable of more (maybe like the Jennifer Coolidge trajectory). In 2019 she won best actress from New York Film Critics Circle for “Support the Girls”. It was a role where she gave us everything and proved herself the most capable and humane of actresses.
by Anonymous | reply 89 | February 15, 2022 4:28 AM |
R90 Regina HALL, lol
by Anonymous | reply 90 | February 15, 2022 4:29 AM |
The years the Oscars went without a host were fine.
by Anonymous | reply 91 | February 15, 2022 5:14 AM |
When Wanda played the TD Garden in Boston a few years ago, she was booed off the stage and her show ended abruptly after she went on an anti-Trump rant.
by Anonymous | reply 92 | February 15, 2022 5:17 AM |
Seems like they are throwing spaghetti against the wall. Awkward.
by Anonymous | reply 93 | February 15, 2022 5:20 AM |
Regina is child actress best known for playing Brenda in Scary Movie and 227.
by Anonymous | reply 94 | February 15, 2022 6:25 AM |
No one cares about this crapfest anymore. It’s outdated garbage.
by Anonymous | reply 95 | February 15, 2022 9:27 AM |
Ohhhh, Hall is the woman that was on that terrible 9 Perfect Strangers being seduced by Nicole Kidman, she was terrible in that. Is she hosting because it’s a forgone conclusion that Nicole is winning?
by Anonymous | reply 96 | February 15, 2022 9:31 AM |
My thoughts exactly, r6. Amy Schumer is fine with self-involved sketch comedy but she's no host. She'll probably act like the default head host with the other two as co-hosts, she seems the type to decide that she's the most famous and therefore the real star.
by Anonymous | reply 97 | February 15, 2022 9:31 AM |
Oh Amy will definitely want to be Diana, but Wanda will smack her down!
by Anonymous | reply 98 | February 15, 2022 9:36 AM |
Who's that fat lady singing?
by Anonymous | reply 99 | February 15, 2022 11:06 AM |
R96 She was terrible in that wasn’t she? I couldn’t even watch a whole episode. Why don’t they just shirk the rules and let Nicole be nominated best actress for that shit instead of the even worse TV movie Ricky and Lucy. My god. Is this the year we’re supposed to be excited for the Oscars? The front runner is a TV movie?
by Anonymous | reply 100 | February 15, 2022 11:13 AM |
So we can guarantee the opening will all be about race, the Oscars want to die
by Anonymous | reply 101 | February 15, 2022 11:48 AM |
The Oscars are now Showtime at the Apollo with TV movie nominees.
by Anonymous | reply 102 | February 15, 2022 12:03 PM |
The trailer for Schumer's new show on Hulu looks like a dreadful retread of her life since becoming famous: sad bloated woman becomes even more self-involved and insufferable when she meets a sensitive non-celebrity who works with his hands and for some unknown reason finds her attractive. It's also quite close to the premise of Bridget Everett's current show on HBO.
by Anonymous | reply 103 | February 15, 2022 12:04 PM |
[quote] It seems like they went to men first who all turned it down. Why these three is anyone’s guess.
Oscar host criteria:
1. Must be black
2. Must be female
3. Have to have a white token in there
4. Must be black
5. Can't piss off Jada
6. Semi-amusing
7. Must be black
by Anonymous | reply 104 | February 15, 2022 12:04 PM |
R77 R78 Yes, I know Hayley Mills won a special Oscar. It's a noncompetitive award, but it's still a statuette that Jada doesn't have. That's why I said Jada has *less right* to be there than Hayley Mills. One is a real Oscar winner, and the other is just a whiny seat-filler.
Do you understand it now, or are you still too drunk to read?
by Anonymous | reply 105 | February 15, 2022 1:34 PM |
Didn’t Amy have her lady parts removed to much personal promotion? She should be thin and svelte for the ceremony.
by Anonymous | reply 106 | February 15, 2022 3:01 PM |
Amy had an amusing story about Kim and Kanye.
by Anonymous | reply 107 | February 15, 2022 3:20 PM |

USA Today:
This awards broadcast will be produced by "Girls Trip" producer Will Packer.
“This year’s show is all about uniting movie lovers. It’s apropos that we’ve lined up three of the most dynamic, hilarious women with very different comedic styles,” Packer said in a statement. “I know the fun Regina, Amy and Wanda will be having will translate to our audience as well. Many surprises in store! Expect the unexpected!”
Variety broke the news Monday, saying the women were "finalizing details" to host. Each woman will lead the telecast for one of the show's hours, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
"Mad Men" star Jon Hamm had been in discussions with Packer as a possible fourth host, until talks fell through this weekend, Variety and The New York Times reported.
The show is hoping to rebound from the dismal viewership of last year’s broadcast, which was both an all-time low and the norm for pandemic-era awards shows. In addition to bringing back starry hosts and bumping the best picture nominees to a full field of 10, the Academy is also hoping to spike interest through social media voting for a "fan favorite" movie that will be announced during the show, as well as a chance to win a trip to Los Angeles for the ceremony.
by Anonymous | reply 109 | February 15, 2022 4:14 PM |
Why is it being produced by some travel agency guy?
by Anonymous | reply 110 | February 15, 2022 4:16 PM |
Why didn't they pair up Ricky Gervais and Seth MacFarlane to do the hosting?

More reasons for people not to watch
by Anonymous | reply 112 | February 15, 2022 4:26 PM |
If they were really interested in getting people to watch, they would have nominated " Spiderman" instead of that flop WSS. But, a plethora of films no one has seen nor care about will result in low ratings again.
by Anonymous | reply 113 | February 15, 2022 5:43 PM |
OK, so Regina Hall got the gig because one of the producers of the Oscars also did Hall’s film Girls Trip. And Schumer got the gig because she has an upcoming series on Hulu which happens to be an ABC/Disney adjunct. As for Wanda Sykes she’s a black lesbian so that ticks a few boxes. At least she can be funny. I predict the other two will be a disaster. And ratings will hit a new low. They’ll never learn.

Young people are not going to watch the Oscars just to see Spiderman win a fake award. It is evident that even more than last year, this will be the BET Oscars, which means even more people will not watch.

The Oscars are why God invented fast forwarding.

Nominate Spiderman:
Ratings for the Oscar broadcast have been in a fairly steady decline over the last 35 years, but spikes have occurred when a blockbuster film was nominated: In 1998, when Titanic was nominated, the telecast rating jumped to 34.9, the highest since 1983, when E.T. was nominated in 1983. That broadcast got a 38 rating, the best in our sample.* The Best Picture nominees were seen by an estimated 22 million people that year. The following year, only 6 million saw the Oscar nominees, and the rating plunged to 30.3.

Where has the Academy gotten this idea that people don’t want the Oscars to have one host? They have seemed determined to avoid it for the past few years.
by Anonymous | reply 130 | February 16, 2022 6:06 PM |
You know why the white girl is there don’t you, so when things go bad they can blame it on her.
by Anonymous | reply 131 | February 16, 2022 7:02 PM |
I’m surprised they didn’t choose a black host, a white host, an Asian host, a transgender host, and a Muslim host.
by Anonymous | reply 132 | February 16, 2022 7:05 PM |
Where have you been, R132? Don't you know that in the US right now the term " diversity" only refers to black. If you are of any other minority, you just don't count. How many jobs dealing with " Diversity and Inclusion" are headed by a non-black? How much Hispanic representation do you see in the media, despite the fact that it has the largest minority population in the country? So, just as every performer at the Super Bowl was black and just about every tv commercial has black representation, so too do the "award shows" need to conform.
by Anonymous | reply 133 | February 16, 2022 7:25 PM |
Forgive me for venting at 133. Of course, Eminem was at the Super Bowl and Amy Schumer is the white woman at the Oscars. But, as a member of a minority group that has largely been ignored in the media, where is the " diversity" in just black and white? Why are the SJWs not advocating for equal representation?

Why not just have Wanda do it??

Because Wanda is too charm-free for a mainstream gig like this.

R124, The streaker came to a bad end.
"Robert Opel was murdered on the night of July 7, 1979, during an attempted robbery of his San Francisco studio by Robert E. Kelly and Maurice Keenan. He was 39. Kelly and Keenan are both serving life sentences for his murder."

[135] What rock have you been hiding under? Regina Hall has been acting for 25 years.
by Anonymous | reply 143 | February 17, 2022 2:13 AM |
Try something different this year. Have Jesse Watters and Greg Gutfeld host.
by Anonymous | reply 144 | February 17, 2022 2:17 AM |
Was Ricky Gervais even considered?

SO it's Proud Crazy Woman With Attitude*, Fat Missy Piggy Porkbottom and Sassy Sykes.
Glad I'm not watching. But at least I can see a recording and just silence everyone but Wanda. Including the "winners."
*In 2010, when she was 40, Hall unsuccessfully tried to become a Catholic nun after a bad break-up, having previously wanted to become one at the age of 14. In the latter case, she was refused for being too old, as the cut-off age is 39

Amy Schumer's shtick has certainly run thin. She has certainly drained that well—did we all see the trailer for her new Hulu series, which is basically a remake of "Trainwreck" but with Michael Cera and a bit of drama? Honestly, though, I don't have strong feelings about her, positive or negative. Some of her early stuff was quite funny, especially a number of the sketches on "Inside Amy Schumer," but at that time she was working with a bunch of other writers/comics and had yet to be so overexposed to the public.
Wanda and Regina Hall are both fine—I've always thought Regina was hilarious, and I enjoyed her recent kooky/insane performance on "Nine Perfect Strangers."

Oh dear.
by Anonymous | reply 148 | February 17, 2022 2:37 AM |
R134, Amy is Jewish not white. Her Jewishness is why she was championed in the comedy industry despite being a no talent.

r143 in what?

Regina Hall's credits. Hardly a well known actress. Did they think they were getting Regina King and just called the wrong number?
by Anonymous | reply 151 | February 17, 2022 3:52 AM |
So Regina King’s name literally means Queen King?
by Anonymous | reply 152 | February 17, 2022 3:53 AM |
I think they should've just gone with Wanda. Or go with Miley Cyrus. She did a good job at the VMAs

[quote] You know why the white girl is there don’t you
Other than race (yes black) 'diversity' and lgbTQIA+ (including they/them) 'diversity', this white girls fits another 'diversity' that SJWs so love...: FAT positivity.

“Hardly a well known actress” is code for “I only watch mediocre white films and white actresses.”
by Anonymous | reply 155 | February 17, 2022 2:25 PM |
The ratings for this year's Oscar ceremony will be as low as the ratings for the Winter Olympics.
by Anonymous | reply 156 | February 17, 2022 3:03 PM |
" Hardly a well known actress" is code for " She hasn't been in any films of importance to warrant a position as Oscar host. Nor have the other two . It's obvious that anyone with talent has steered far away, so we had to settle for nobodies, has-beens, and never-weres."

They should have NpH host and bring in the writers who did the 2013 Tonys.
by Anonymous | reply 158 | February 17, 2022 6:30 PM |
Neil Patrick Harris did host and alienated the Academy with his demands such as including magic tricks into the show. The Academy is done with him.
by Anonymous | reply 159 | February 17, 2022 8:26 PM |
R159, magic can work if executed properly. I loved whern he disappeared into the box and then emerges at the other side of the studio seconds later. At 4:50 in the clip.
Nobody can host an awards show like NPH but the writing sucked when did the Oscars.
This opening is so good it goes viral on reddit once a year.
by Anonymous | reply 160 | February 17, 2022 8:36 PM |
R159, I demanded a few "magic tricks" the year I hosted the Oscars.
by Anonymous | reply 161 | February 18, 2022 5:06 AM |
I think it’s similar to radio acting shows being popular and then dying out with new technology. They don’t realize that their “big show” is now a joke. We need to see gay porn and forget, not watch a formal 3 hour awards show.
by Anonymous | reply 162 | February 18, 2022 5:12 AM |
Oscars never adapted to DVR's.
I just start late and fast forward. I watch the acting and a few other big awards and speed thru the rest (ESPECIALLY the lame host jokes.)
by Anonymous | reply 163 | February 18, 2022 5:30 AM |
I always get Regina Hall and Tiffany Haddish confused. Neither are much good but Regina was at least decent in Nine Perfect Strangers.
by Anonymous | reply 164 | February 18, 2022 5:40 AM |
They should have gotten Gaga to host to make up for failing to nominate her. Her stans would tune in then.
by Anonymous | reply 165 | February 18, 2022 5:41 AM |
R154 Agreed, it's clear that the only white person on the list had to fit some criteria and being fat...I mean body positive....worked.

by Anonymous | reply 168 | February 18, 2022 6:51 AM |
R155 Regina is a good actress but has rarely had parts in quality projects.
by Anonymous | reply 169 | February 18, 2022 7:10 AM |
Since black people should be nominated for anything now why not nominate the out gays for any old thing too? They didn’t get any good parts either! Who could be nominated this year? Doogie for the Matrix? Put him IN!

Will Chuck Schumer be there to support his cousin Amy?
He was at the Tony Awards.
by Anonymous | reply 171 | February 18, 2022 7:23 AM |
The Oscars are like the Democrats. They know they are dying. They know they need to stop catering to the woke crowd but they can't help themselves and as a result they will fade away.
by Anonymous | reply 172 | February 18, 2022 12:10 PM |
I might be in the tiny minority, but I never found Wanda Sykes the least bit amusing.
by Anonymous | reply 173 | February 18, 2022 12:59 PM |
I like Wanda in small doses. She is not host material.
