How do you feel about the "Cart Narcs"?

This guy is an obnoxious asshole...clearly baiting for people to freak out for his YouTube channel. The first woman should have kept driving away, instead of getting out and looking like a fool on camera....holding up traffic. Two assholes. Social media should be banished.

If he was a "virtuous citizen," why not return the cart himself and STFU?

People who don't take a moment to return a cart to it's proper place or at least a safe place are assholes.

But assholes are all around us and the people who are too very incensed and focused on cart violations are themselves the greater assholes. They've fixated on one small crime on which to hang all their frustrations, frustrations much deeper than not returning a shopping cart to the right place.

I feel about them the same way I feel about anyone who goes around acting like an asshole, in the hope that their stupid stunt will go viral on social media.

And that means that IMHO they ought to be sentenced to work in a refugee camp for 1-5 years, cleaning bedpans or doling out inadequate food packets, or trying to teach children with no future the rudiments of civilization. Force them to learn a bit about real life, before they're allowed near a smartphone again.

This woman has a small child in the car. Would YOU leave your small child alone-- even for a minute-- to return a fucking cart? This is who the parking lot guys are for. Not for every able-bodied Tom, Dick, and Harry, no... But for a mother with an infant or toddler? Yes.

Don't think it's fake. Not the offenders. He's really too quick with verbal-defense comeback exchanges. Plus, his hands are free. It's all in the voice, which doesn't stink of being fake. Also, he looks like a big guy who can physically handle this confrontation. He's an entertainer, for sure. But when 1st Amendment auditors do this with police, the police ain't faking. And some of the auditors are very talented and have the very same gusto.

The "Narc" gets a gun pulled on him in this video.

It’s a noble endeavor to go after people who refuse to put the cart in the corral. Loose carts can cause real damage to cars if they roll into one. The YouTubers should also go after people who park their car in the fire lane rather than drive a few more feet and park in an actual parking space.

The noble endeavor, then, would be to return the cart to the corral and call it a day.

There is nothing "noble" about harassing people for clicks.

This is why I drive right into the grocery store and skip the parking lot craziness altogether.

This guy was REALLY pissed, to the point that his voice broke several times as if he was on the verge of crying. He expended more energy yelling and chasing the Narc than he would have just returning his cart.

Narc Sebastian just confronted a pretty hot vagrant who threatened to shit in front of him the next time he sees him.

As someone who collected carts for a summer in High School, mind your own business. The longer I can take picking up stray carts, the less chance there is they ask me to do something even more strenuous.

What we really need are vigilantes who shoot people who engage their speakerphones in public, whether to talk, listen to music, play games, whatever. Just get rid of the mothefuckers.

Didn't watch the video, but OMG. Having a child is yet another reason to not do what most everybody else does.

My friend heckled a local politician who left his (politician's) cart in the middle of the parking lot. Said local politician is an arrogant douchebag. Anyway, to his credit, local politician actually backtracked and pushed his cart into a corral.

Friend did not video-record the incident. These were the days before people video'd everything.

I once returned a cart only to come back and find some asshole had put their cart right next to my car, even dinging my door a little. I unlocked and opened the car so I could put my two bags in before returning the asshole's cart, too, when an employee came up to me, assumed it was my cart and that I was going to leave it, and started screaming insults.

For god's sake, I even had my hand on the cart's handle as I was reaching into my car. There was no reason for the meltdown.

I feel about these social media clout-chasing "cart narc" assholes the same way I feel about that store employee.

I don’t care if people leave their carts around. Most of the time, they’ll be placed against a light pole or something. I live in an area with a lot of elderly folks. I hardly expect them to return their carts when the corrals are few and far between.

One time I was in a rush and I left my cart on the side with a bunch of other carts (sue me). This pompous white guy (you know the type, khaki cargo shorts, polo shirt, looks like the type to be on the school board) approaches me to berate me.

“Are you going to put your cart away?” he asked patronizingly.

“No,” I replied.

“It’s people like you…” he starts.

I let loose and let him have it. “Why don’t you take that fucking cart and stick it up that colossal asshole of yours?! Who the fuck do you think you are coming up to me? Do you own this parking lot, rancid motherfucker?! Mind your own business, you cunt.”

His jaw dropped to the floor and I laughed and laughed as I drove away.

In the time it takes to film, edit, and upload the vid the fucker could've just returned the cart himself. He prolly started this channel to merch and get money. I was unaware that that's now the main reason people start youtube channels. I always thought it was self expression. Maybe it once was. But announcing your coffee fund and saying it's not expected but always welcome is prostitution.

I live in a location that might interest civil aviation fans because airliners turn around to begin final approach to SEA above my building. It would be fun to start a youtube channel of five minute clips of this. But I wouldn't expect somebody to subsidize my hobby.

Yesterday I parked & got out of my car just as a high school age kid told his parents he didn’t feel like taking the cart back and pushed it to the parking space next to the mulched island that borders the road in the parking lot - it was only another 12 feet or so to put the cart away and his parents didn’t say anything. People are lazy.

Agreed, R33. The shopping cart issue is a matter of laziness, speakerphone in public is just plain assholery - it’s bad manners and a complete disregard for the people around you.

The thing that I learned from this thread is that women are too lazy to put the shopping cart in the corral and think it’s okay because they have seen other people not do it. Also, they hate the idea of anyone recording them in the act of being such a POS. On the other hand, gay men, as expected, are conscientious and put the cart in the corral.

I thought Sebastian was hawt in a nerdy gay ginger way. But Sebas is way hawter.
