The new Chris Cuomo... all about me, me, me....
by Anonymous | reply 1 | February 11, 2022 12:06 AM |
Remember when he wouldn't come out of the closet because it was "too personal"? That bringing his personal life into public view would detract from his status as a reliable news source?
by Anonymous | reply 2 | February 11, 2022 12:08 AM |
Well he's out now. Maybe he'll do a semi-Katie Couric and broadcast his next prostate exam. On Only Fans.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | February 11, 2022 12:09 AM |
It’s nice (for him) that he’s had another child, but this isn’t a leading news story. This is something you might bring up at the end of the hour.
I liked him a lot better when he was more low-key. I lost a lot of respect for him after the Kathy Griffen episode.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | February 11, 2022 12:12 AM |
He's such a hunk.
I envy the woman he keeps humping and getting pregnant. I wonder if he's in love with her?

He wanted to get it out there himself before anyone else. Two minutes at the start of the show, and then handed it over to John Berman. Get over it.

Maybe David Muir will have a surrogate baby too!

by Anonymous | reply 17 | February 11, 2022 12:51 AM |
R4 Kathy Griffin was making $80,000 for one nights work, she went into the bosses office ten days before NYE demanding more money. Zucker canned her ass, she came back begging for her job back and Zucker let her have it back at $60,000. Now you wanted Anderson to fall on a sword for her after all that plus the blood dripping head thing. Zucker would have fired his ass also.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | February 11, 2022 12:52 AM |
^Hmm, how much money did AC and the other male co-hosts make for the NYE special? If they made significantly more money than the female co-host, she was right to ask for more money.

by Anonymous | reply 20 | February 11, 2022 1:00 AM |

His figure is now ruined forever.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | February 11, 2022 1:02 AM |
People tuned into NYE because of Kathy and Anderson. She deserved a raise.
But I'm sick of Anderson. And I agree with r4, his treatment of Kathy only made me dislike him more.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | February 11, 2022 1:03 AM |
is he going to be celibate now or he'll co-parent with Ben while both are banging other guys on the side?
by Anonymous | reply 24 | February 11, 2022 1:08 AM |
That's a good idea, actually. Anderson may not be around when the kids are in their 30s, given his current age and the family history of heart problems. At least the kids would have each other in that case. Also, Anderson was close to his brother so I can see him wanting to give his own offspring that experience.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | February 11, 2022 1:23 AM |
It's nice that he was able to create a two-parent family for his kids. Just because they didn't work out romantically doesn't mean they can't be good co-parents.

by Anonymous | reply 27 | February 11, 2022 2:02 AM |
Anderson is 54 years old, he will be 72 when the kid turns 18, I am 70 now and I can't even imagine. Of course there will be nannies but still.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | February 11, 2022 2:03 AM |
He and Ben may not be in a "romance" any longer but I find hard to believe that they're not still fucking.

[quote] Hmm, how much money did AC and the other male co-hosts make for the NYE special? If they made significantly more money than the female co-host, she was right to ask for more money.
We don't know how much other people were making, but Kathy's pitch was that she was doing more preparation for NYE than Anderson was doing, which to me is her throwing Anderson under the bus. Her pitch wasn't that she was being paid less, but that she was doing more work. if she was making less I am sure she would have used that pitch also.

Then those two had that fuck house down in Brazil. They must have got a lot of fucking out of their system 35-45. If they want to concentrate on being daddies now, why not? Its a sexless marriage, it seems to me. No marriage, no sex, but they are "best friends" and co parenting so it seems like a marriage. I wonder what happens if Ben falls in love with one of his lovers. Or if he's even fucking much at all.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | February 11, 2022 3:54 AM |
The one thing I'd like to hear Cooper do his TMI routint about is the inner/outer/extracurricular workings of him and the bartender. That's one modern family....

I never heard the part about Ben not wanting children. I don't recall any gossip purporting to tell why they broke up. They were in an open relationship. Cooper had some liaisons with twinkies around the break up that got some gossip but then its been silence radio since. Cooper is reported to lead a lifestyle of rigid routines.

Wealthy men in their mid-50s buying babies seems a bit gross to me but go for it. I’m sure Andy Cohen has another baby cooking in some white woman as we speak.

Shallow, vapid fraud. The veneer of the serious journalist is now in tatters at his feet and the trivial attention-seeker is there for all to see.
The sheer egocentricity of thinking that the children's irregular living situation - with the dads who aren't a couple and who-knows-what relationship or access to their mother(s) - can be compensated for because he, Anderson, is just so goddamn special.
Yes, the kids will have plenty of money, opportunities, connections and that's all very enviable but I don't envy them the issues which seem to me to be inevitable.
by Anonymous | reply 60 | February 11, 2022 12:00 PM |
I don't know about Anderson, R48, but there's no doubt in my mind that Ben is, and will remain, a sex fiend. There is a lot of aggressive sexual energy in that face - and Momma likey!
by Anonymous | reply 61 | February 11, 2022 12:01 PM |
R34, the fact remains that Anderson DID inherit money from his mother despite his BS claims to the contrary before her death. $1.5 million is not to be scoffed at! In any case, what money he already had in his own right would have been totally impossible without the connections she gave him. He is an uncharismatic butterface.

by Anonymous | reply 69 | February 11, 2022 12:33 PM |
I am surprised Anderson has not had an auction of his Mom's possessions, she had a lot of stuff filling many storage units. In regard to the money she left, I do believe Anderson bankrolled her for the last 15-20 years of her life, so get should get it.
Now, regarding Anderson's announcement.....read the f-ing room. Your boss was just terminated in a public and embarrassing manner. The new management has publicly, and endlessly said they want a news organization again. Interestingly I follow many CNN people on Instagram and they did not even "like" his cringeworthy picture. I can see Anderson playing this up for good publicity....but internally ut won't work.
Everything about this is so performative and narcissistic.
by Anonymous | reply 70 | February 11, 2022 12:49 PM |
For a guy who wouldn't come out - in New York City - he's sure gone to the opposite extreme.
Though I give him credit, if he's going to use the kid as a prop he at least went whole hog and showed the kid (and his brother.) Not like this annoying and coy trend of showing an elbow here or a happy family presidential ambition there. That's as cynical as AC is performative. If you're going to use your kid as a prop, own it. If your privacy is so important, don't go there.

Wow, how greedy and self-centered can one gay man be? Purchasing another baby when the other is still an infant? Raising them as a single parent? Anderson was late to get on the celeb gay dad train. I used to wonder what was wrong with him. Now he’s one-upped his pal Andy Cohen. I expect an announcement from Andy any day. Anyway it’s good his kid will have a sibling. I’m the same age as Anderson, and no way in hell would I want to be raising a toddler and an infant at this late stage. I don’t have a staff though. Congrats.

Oh come on, there are millions of straight couples and singles having babies but have no business being parents. Both of these boys will have the benefit of the best care and education that money can buy and right now clearly a lot of love from two parents. There are millions of children being raised by siblings while their single mother has to work, there are millions being raised by step parents who really don't love them and abuse them. I know we love to trash pretty much all celebrities and while I would never do this regardless of how much money I had these children will have a great life with every advantage possible.

by Anonymous | reply 89 | February 11, 2022 1:32 PM |
The ultra wealthy gays who special order these babies must always choose eggs from blond blue-eyed women. Look at the kids of Matt Bomer and the ones belonging to Ryan Murphy - completely aryan little things. Even Anderson’s older kid has those huge blue eyes and a very fair complexion.
Not criticizing - it just tickles me how none of these fancy gaybies look anything less than completely Scandinavian. I guess if you’re ordering a kid - that’s the ideal look.
Exception is Andy Cohen - who probably also ordered some Swedish model’s eggs but got a brunette little boy. Maybe the next baby will be blond and he can also live the dream.

CNN's primetime ratings are atrocious. Even some of the afternoon shows have higher ratings. Sadly, Fox News shows often have 6x the viewership of CNN shows. I bet they fired Zucker bc he turned CNN into an entertainment channel and the ratings are tanking since Biden does not offer the same media spectacle anymore. I think new leadership has to make some drastic changes soon.

This smelt like the kind of schmaltz Zucker would have loved. He was an entertainment producer, but that's OK, because CNN's really talk radio on TV now. It's really not that hard to look at their ratings and see that they have a serious viewership/ratings problem. Anderson Cooper's show often only has 500-600k viewers while Fox News primetime shows have 3.5 million. Other hosts not doing much better. Even Rachel Maddow's ratings dropped to only ~1.5 million.
by Anonymous | reply 105 | February 11, 2022 1:56 PM |
I have no understanding of Fox, by design. So is Fox News an over the air channel or a cable channel? It doesn't surprise me it's dominant, given what it sells and who it sells it to. It vaguely surprises me they'd pay cable for it though. Imagine the choice the choice between paying for a big bottle of Pepsi or paying for Fox?

Fox News is not offered over the air. What I'm guessing is that Fox News is offered at a reduced rate on multiple platforms. When I got Verizon Fios, I learned that Fox News was offered in every package, but I had to upgrade packages if I wanted CNN or MSNBC. I eventually cut the cord, but I found it interesting that both Fox and Newsmax were always available, but CNN and MSNBC were not always readily available.
I don't know if that is unique to me, but my guess would be that it's not.

For that matter I never loved it when usage changed to allow straight men with women who push out babies saying "we're having a baby".
I'm 60. When I was a boy - the WOMAN HAD THE BABIES. And this seems to be a correct use of the vocabulary.
Get off my lawn, too.

[quote]The more I think about it, him collecting kids does make sense. In a fairer world, his parents wouldn’t have had him late in their lives, his dad wouldn’t have died relatively young, and his brother would be alive and the father to Anderson’s nieces and nephews. He’s all alone…or was.
He didn't solve his problem. He passed the buck. He went to great lengths to create two people who will one day be in the exact position he was in. Their bio dad has a family history of health issues, and they are likely to lose their bio dad at a young age (just like Anderson). Anderson had another parent who picked up the slack after his father died. That's why he needs Ben to hang around. Because he's expecting to be around until the kids reach their late teens or early 20s, and then they will still need someone to take care of them. The kids each have a brother, but we know how that turned out for Anderson.

R125 If I were one of Anderson’s surrogated kids, it would rub me the wrong way that dad only ordered me after dad’s best friend ordered in infant for himself. Like I was part of a fashion trend or something.

Imagine. A rich man wants kids, but he doesn't want to put his penis inside a vagina. A young woman (must be college educated and MUST be attractive) desperately needs money to pay off her college loan debt, so she sells (er, "donates") her eggs. The sperm and egg--which came from two people who have never met, and who would never even want to touch each other if they did meet--are combined in a lab. Then someone else needs to carry the embryo. Can use the bio egg donor, because she might then become attached. So it has to be a third party. Luckily, there's some woman out there who needs $100,000 and loves the attention she gets from strangers when she walks around pregnant. The rich man waits for his eggs to hatch. Everyone's happy.
by Anonymous | reply 127 | February 11, 2022 5:18 PM |
Being gay used to mean that no one bothered you about having children. Now almost every gay celebrity has ordered a baby and joined the masses of breeders. I am sure some of them genuinely want children, but seems like an accessory for most. Which is just like the straights behave so whatever.
Of course Anderson ordered two babies. He’s wealthy and his entire family is dead. Why wouldn’t he buy some tiny companions and hire nannies to handle the tedious parts of dealing with them.

I saw an article about a straight couple. The woman was highly intelligent, and she wanted her baby to be a genius. But...I guess she didn't think her husband was smart enough. So she got him to agree that they would use a sperm donor. It worked. The kid turned out to be a very bright toddler (at the time the article was written.)
There was another straight couple who both became first time parents in their late 60s. I think they bought eggs and sperm and then the wife could still carry the embryos in her late 60s. At that point, you might as well call it adoption, though.

There are still some people - men I presume - who do not understand the natural biological part a mother plays in the natural development of young humans.
And, yes, it is chemical and hormonal and at a cellular level. Biology is real and you cannot buy it and manufacture it. For example, when the baby cries the mother excretes hormones that make her lactate and dictate behavior. The same hormone that is excreted when she orgasms and when she goes into labor. It's why a mother is the primary caregiver at that young age and bonds in a way that a father does not. It's an incredible mammalian phenom that has served the human race for a long time. But, hey, what is evolutionary biology in the face of the likes of Anderson Cooper and his money.

It is kind of weird. Your mom doesn't know you're alive. She sold her eggs. But when you turn 18, you can ask the fertility agency for her name and contact information. Or you can join one of those ancestry websites and get matched to maybe 20 half siblings you may have.
And the baby has to be wondering...what happened to that lady who's voice I heard for the last few months? Hopefully, when Anderson bottle feeds the kid, he removes his shirt and wears one of those bottle bras. Skin-to-skin contact is very helpful in making the baby feel secure and establishing a bond between parent and child.

When Anderson Cooper announced the new baby on his CNN show the other night, he gave the name of the baby--Sebastian, with the hyphenated surname, Maisani-Cooper, and said Ben is also in the process of adopting the first baby, Wyatt, who will also soon have the same hyphenated surname as his younger brother.
However, Anderson specifically said Ben is his "former partner" and "best friend." Anderson did not say that he and Ben are married. Perhaps Anderson and Ben live together--I don't know--but Anderson did not say that he and Ben are current partners or married to each other. Anderson did not even say that he and Ben were previously married--he said "former partner."

R216 so they are like bachelor brothers raising children? I think its intesting but there are risks. I have seen it in Lesbian couples. One would presume the lesbian couple have BED DEATH, but they are still "a couple". And then they adopt or surrogate kids. AND THEN ONE OF THEM MEETS someone.
So what's going to happen if one of these men falls deeply in love with another guy.
Something similar happened to Ricky Martin. He was raising a kid with his first BF and then he dumped the BF and the guy also had to exit the babies life.
If BOTH of those kids are Anderson's genetics, Ben risks a lot - a few years down. Either Anderson or a new boyfriend could decided Ben has to go. Adoptive father or not.

Ben only co-owned those bars. Eastern block doesn't exist anymore (and/or is now owned by Alan Cumming), haven't heard anything about Bedlam in years and the same with the 3rd bar in HK. I have always assumed that at least some of the money for the 2nd and the 3rd bar actually came from Anderson.

Surrogacy is very risky in terms of the potential to exploit economically disadvantaged women. And that has nothing to do with gay men. The surrogacy shit started with straight breeders needing to have children by any means possible, gay men have just jumped on that train. The percentage of gay men using surrogates compared to straight couples is probably very small.
This isn’t a men erasing women issue - wealthy women are just as complicit in starting this surrogacy bullshit.
And I’m not buying this homophobic BULLSHIT about how babies NEED a mother to thrive biologically. Tons of mothers are shitty parents starting from when the kid is born. Anderson and the ultra wealthy gays likely hire the best nannies and baby nurses that money can buy. Those kids will be taken care of. By some women. So get off your high horse.
I find the whole trend of rich PEOPLE buying babies kind of disgusting but don’t make that into a gay male problem because it’s not. Plenty of gay couples adopt kids and foster kids and take in nieces and nephews like fucking saints. We just hear about these celebrities - so what else is new? And it’s ultimately up to the individual how they want to have children. If they have the money and want to pay and the surrogate needs money and will do it - who are we to intervene?

by Anonymous | reply 229 | February 12, 2022 8:45 PM |
So how does this whole thing work? Do you browse egg catalogues looking for the best candidates (IQ, physical characteristics etc.) in Anderson’s case, blue eyes and blond hair? Do you get to pick out your preferred gender as well? Are the high-end eggs more expensive?
Yeah, this shit is creepy.
by Anonymous | reply 230 | February 12, 2022 8:48 PM |
I know I know - but this is a GAY MALE WEBSITE. Read the fucking room. You really going to come on here and starting running your mouth about babies requiring mothers? And whining about how gay couples who want children are erasing women? Fuck that shit.
There are plenty of great gay dads on DL who love their kids a lot - so fuck off fraus.
I am childfree and satisfied with that choice - I would rather not be defending our right to breed new humans - but some of the shit I’m reading on this thread is homophobic and unacceptable on this forum.

Well, at least male gay couples have a reason to get a surrogate. Look at straight couples like Priyanka Chopra/Nick Jonas, Kim Kardashian etc. who just don't want to be inconvenienced by a pregnancy. They just pay a poor woman so they don't have to deal with morning sickness, getting fat etc. How convenient when you have enough money that you can just skip all the annoying parts of a pregnancy and all you have to do is write a check and pick up the finished product 9 months later.
by Anonymous | reply 239 | February 12, 2022 9:06 PM |
Most people use the same agency, people in LA know which one I'm talking about. It tends to be a one stop shop. It costs anywhere from 80 - 200 thousand depending on what you're looking for. You pick your egg donor out of a catalogue that has a photo and biographical and medial information. Then you pick the surrogate. It's up to you if you want to have a relationship with this person. Some people want no relationship. Others want to meet the surrogate and be heavily involved in the pregnancy, going to doctors' appointments, etc. If it's anonymous, the agency is the go between sharing ultrasounds and other prenatal info.
It's a great, no mess way, to have a kid.

Back in my restaurant-working days, I had a coworker / friend who had 2 children by 2 different fathers. (She ended up marrying someone and having his baby, so 3 kids by 3 fathers. AFAIK, she's still married to this 3rd guy.) She wasn't the most beautiful woman, but she was Caucasian, and all of her kids looked like they could model for baby food, etc.
Friend sold eggs (but was not a surrogate) to make extra money. There was a woman who bought one of my friends eggs and had an attractive baby. That woman then bought another one of my friend's eggs and had another baby (attractive, I'm guessing). The woman was also giving my friend gifts (in addition to paying for the eggs).
My friend said that the woman wanted a 3rd egg, but my friend said no. This woman (egg buyer) was weird and I think my friend compromised principles on selling the 2nd egg, but said no on the 3rd egg.

All these children today being raised by same sex parents. Aren't a good number of them bound to have psychological issues when they're older?
by Anonymous | reply 253 | February 12, 2022 9:54 PM |
R249, I didn't think the donor can pick who gets the eggs. You sell the eggs to the agency. The agency takes out a bunch of the eggs at once. It's not a simple process. For weeks before the removal, the donor is pumped up with hormones. Then the agency owns the eggs and can sell them to whomever they want (whomever can write a big enough check).
The requirements for donating eggs are pretty strict. You have to be smart. You have to between a certain height range. (No one wants to buy an egg that will result in a son who is short or a daughter who is too tall. You can't have health problems. Of course, you have to be attractive, too.)

by Anonymous | reply 256 | February 12, 2022 9:58 PM |
R253, a lot of people raised by straight parents (which is most of the population) have psychological issues.
In some locations, kids with same-sex parents might be susceptible to bullying. I think that they have a higher chance of being gay themselves. (It runs in my family, through the maternal line.) It's getting better, but it's still much easier in a big liberal city. And if you're rich, you can keep your kids in a bubble where they're less likely to be exposed to bullies.

by Anonymous | reply 261 | February 12, 2022 10:10 PM |
Maybe they specify male babies because they fear that a girl would long for a mother more than a boy would. With girls, it's probably easier to have a mom to give the sex talk, shop for a bra, explain how to use pads/tampons, give dating advice. I know a widower who raised his daughter alone after his wife died young, but he had lots of sisters around to help out with these tasks. If Anderson had a daughter, she'd have zero aunts. (Though perhaps Kelly Ripa would help out.)
by Anonymous | reply 262 | February 12, 2022 10:11 PM |
R262, but then you run into situations where the donor might discriminate due to religion, race, homophobia. When a man sells sperm, I don't think he gets to decide who will get it.
by Anonymous | reply 263 | February 12, 2022 10:13 PM |
I don't think sperm sorting is really that great yet. They likely sorted the embryos, which means Anderson probably has some daughters in the freezer.

Remember the old days where you couldn't split up the task of egg donation from carrying/birthing? Baby M's mom got attached to the baby she was carrying (well, it was her egg), and after she birthed it, she didn't want to give it up. But she'd already spent the cash advance, I believe, so they went to court.

This is a GAY website. It has been since it started. It was not and is not a MALE only website. So, fuck off with your ignorance about DL. I have been here since 1998 and I regularly have to remind some arrogant newbie of that fact.
That matches your ignorance about women. As if the idea that gay women have no idea how biology works like some of the dumber males here. Women understand biology and as much as you want to twist what has been said it changes nothing. No fraudom necessary for women to understand the facts of life.
Surrogacy tends to exploit no matter who does it. There are exceptions such as close friends or relatives helping those who can't have their own children. I am less concerned with those arrangements as those are usually not financial arrangements.
Perhaps if the free market allowed for financial arrangements that really compensated fairly then that could erase the exploitation part.
But the one being ignored in all this me me me culture is the baby in utero and after its birth. It's useless to try to explain to idiot men the differences in mothers and fathers and their roles in the development of the child - and even the affects that a surrogacy pregnancy can have on the fetus. Bu then men almost never ever think or bother to learn about these things because it or the potentiality of it will never really affect you.

Well, governmental adoption agencies typically won't let a couple adopt a baby unless at least one partner is below the age of 45. That's for health reasons. Straight or gay. Of course if you're rich enough, like Hoda, you can adopt from another country in your 50s. She could have bought an egg like Anderson, mixed it with her husband's sperm, and then had it surgically implanted in her womb, and delivered the baby.

It is interesting about surrogacy because since it isn't your egg you're basically loaning (dare I say renting) someone your body to grow them their baby. I can see feeling really good about and bonding with what you're doing, but from the beginning it is clear who, what, why, where, when and how... it seems to me a much less intimate process. It's like nurturing a sourdough starter. Or is it any different than donating a kidney? Do people who donate a kidneys miss the kidney (emotionally) ten years later?

Around 27% of women experience no tearing at all, while 23% have a very minor vaginal tear or graze that often does not require stitches and heals on its own. Around 26% of women have a perineal tear that may need to be stitched.Oct 23, 2016
What we know about perineal tearing, and how to reduce it ...

[quote] That doesn't happen to every woman
Uh, yeah it does. Look at any 9 months pregnant woan and tell me how that belly is not stretched out. Now imaging pushing a watermelon-sized object out your vajayjay and tell me that doesn’t tear you up (ever hear of something called an “episiotomy”?)

R327 Vaginal tears during labor are prevented by making a nice neat surgical incision to the area. Because being sliced open heals faster than being torn up.
And yes, pregnancy, labor and delivery is a big fucking deal.

Stop talking to yourself, r327. Fucking crazy bitch.

r295 Do you have any statistics please because I suspect your 'lots' will still amount to a minority of cases unless you have evidence beyond surmised anecdotes?

Enough about stretched vaginas, let's get back to talking about how Anderson is letting Ben adopt the first boy, but he still won't commit to Ben's rapidly aging 49 year old ass. If Anderson is like most 50-something men I know, he's having more sex than he was 25 years ago. Are the hustlers and twinks going into the Village home or does Anderson have a separate apartment?

R335, absolutely. Enough about women. Who needs 'em. They can be bought off for pennies on the dollar. But Shhh don't tell them.

LOL, Anderson has got what he needed from women and no longer has use for them. Ben is good enough to be the other dad for the kids, but Anderson doesn't want to settle for a man just five years younger than himself. He wants a 20- or 30-something man, and with his money, he can probably get one.
