Geez, it a bit scary finding out you can die from smacking your head so lightly that you don't think anything of it, but hard enough to actually kill you.

I guess you can get a brain bleed or something. It is really rare to die like that. It usually takes a very hard hit to die of a brain injury. Maybe it has something to do with where you hit your head. Your skull is pretty hard.

Head trauma can easily kill. Especially to the back of the head.

A few years ago during a heat wave my partner was cutting the grass in the front yard. All of a sudden he got extremely light headed and dizzy and passed out on the concrete driveway and hit his head pretty hard. I had to take him to the ER and he did have a bleed in his skull. He was in the ICU overnight and lost a little bit of his memory during his hospital stay. Luckily he is ok and it wasn't anything more serious.
