I had his book back in the day. He made a big thing about what a big deal it was for him to stoop to being the musical director on Judy's TV show. How it was practically an insult that he was even asked, and his reservations in taking the gig. I remember enjoying the book, though.

I just finished this book and boy, was Torme impressed with himself. He seems like he was a real jerk to his wife, too.

That being said, the Judy described in the book is on par with the Judy portrayed in the 2019 film. She was a hot mess and the snowball was rolling down the hill to hell.
