Jennifer grew up rich and privileged. Her whole career is owed to nepotism. She is good at acting nice, smiling and being diplomatic. But that doesn't mean she's really this sweet, shy, humble girl-next-door. How should she fooled straight suburban people into thinking she is one of them, I'll never know.

My high school had a class trip to New York every year. The first year after Friends was on, so this was probably 1995, some of my classmates saw Jennifer Aniston and Lisa Kudrow walking in Greenwich Village and approached them. I get her appeal in the 90s and 2000s, different time and she was in the right spot at the right time. But in the 2010s onward, why she is still a thing, I don't know. I guess she has no competition. Her romcoms are mostly fails. She's fine in comedies though like Horrible Bosses.

In the Friends Reunion special she came across as a complete ditz and not far from the Rachel character. She repeatedly said stupid things, like getting the circumstances of Matt LeBlanc's shoulder injury wrong or bringing up Matthew Perry's relationship with Julia Roberts. However, even Jay Mohr admits that he was a real prick for a long time; he blamed it on being young.

That's common. He was in GO. Think about the rest of the cast: Scott Wolf, Breckin Meyer (who was in more than Mohr was at the time), Taye Diggs, Katie Holmes, Sarah Polley.

Allegedly, they were afraid that the producers were testing out Elle to see if she could replace one of the existing cast members. In order to kill the stranglehold the six of them had over the producers when they were negotiating for pay raises. Were the guys just as rotten to the male costars, though?

And were the women just as mean to Reese Witherspoon when she guest-starred? She never said they were. If they didn't it was probably because she was a movie star and they knew she was just slumming it when she was doing their show.
