Context: this was a series that should not be made. Its all about exploiting a sex tape that was STOLEN from Pamela. It was sold and distributed without her permission. She couldn't stop it and couldn't control it. She made no money from it, either. No one ever got punished for the theft or the leak. It devastated Pam then, and still hurts her now. She is vocally anti-porn now, and the media should respect her wishes and stop bringing up her sex tape over and over.

^^forgot to add that Lee was actively abusing Anderson on the tape. You can hear her audibly say "don't film this" with fear in her voice at various moments, and see her trying to move the camera away. Post-leak, Lee went to jail for almost a year for beating her.

Tommy Lee has got to be one of the most vile creatures to ever achieve fame in recent decades. He beat her while she was holding their infant son FFS. He makes Bobby Brown look like Wayne Brady.

The one word I would use is "inconsistent" and that would be to describe OP.

I haven't seen it but I like Pamela Anderson. If what r5 and r6 is true, then no one should watch this show that should have never been made.

Ugh. Watched a couple of eps. Won't be continuing as I found both Pam and Tommy stupid and boring.

I realize, thanks to R5, that she bore the brunt of the whole saga, but I can also see why someone would want to rip him off. He's a piece of shit, and I don't rate him or his fucking band at all.

Nothing about these two is remotely interesting and they're undeserving of a retrospect.

Pam and Tommy was underwhelming. I finally finished it. James was actually excellent but the show kept dragging and it was hard to sustain much interest. But she really captured Anderson's mannerisms and even resembled her physically ( with the right makeup of course).The CNN review is typical mainstream journalist finger wagging hysteria over the supposedly unbearable suffering and martyrdom of rich and glamorous people. Movies and television regularly dramatize far more awful experiences of regular non famous people and these sanctimonious journalists don't find any issue with that. Just look at all the tv movies faced on terrible famous events involving real people.

ITA, R19. I’d add it felt like watching the same scenes over and over again. Eight episodes to tell this story was 7 too many.

R23 Yes. That was the problem exactly, the repetition. The value of editing seems to be a lost art. The theft was a big pop culture moment but hardly a war and peace like epic.

It should have been ninety minutes. The focus shouldn’t have been a creepy breaking and entering criminal who is painted as a loser yet there he is standing in Pam and Tommy’s bedroom as their naked bodies sleep. I can’t stand Rogan and his yell-acting. Same guy in every role. They made this as a way to have porn characters in a drama. This was grade D level.
