Johnny Knoxville sounded slow and deliberate on Howard Stern
last week. According to this article, he suffered brain damage. I noticed his speech before I saw this article. It reminded me of when Scott Weiland was on the show. Speaking slow and deliberate, punctuated with a bunch of "uhhhhhhh"s.
This is so damn sad to me. Knoxville used to be super sharp and quick. And according to the article the damage only happened during the filming of Jackass 5.
WHY on earth risk your health to do another Jackass movie in 2022? First of all, times have changed. Shit in the world is just too serious for that right now. Secondly, one of the great things about it used to be the comradeship between the guys. Now, they all fight over money. Finally, it was fun and sexy when they were in their 20s. Uninteresting and pathetic in their 50s.
He ruined his health for fucking nothing. Really depressing.

Wow didn’t know he got injured. But I agree with you wholeheartedly about jackass. I saw an ad about the 2022 movie recently and thought it was really pathetic looking at their age.

Mostly they were hit in the groin, not sure that would cause brain damage though. I'd say drugs and alcohol were the real cause of his early dementia.

He and Chris Pontus did an AMA on Reddit yesterday, some highlights from the thread:
Knoxville turned down SNL for Jackass
Bam is locked down treatment for drugs/mental health stuff and there is a restraining order against him
Knoxville had cognitive damage among many other gruesome injuries
Both are happy with where they are in life.
I still find Johnny Knoxville hot.

I wonder if he needed the money or just couldn't let it die. Jackass is not for the mature. It was funny when they were young. Foolish now.

Well, he did say he broke his penis.

EXCELLENT points all-around, OP!

Nothing compared to the tragedy of Bam Margera. An absolute mess, but I attribute it more to the ADD/adventure seeker/thrill seeker brain. Some people just don’t believe in limits - so the drug addiction is a natural result. He just happened to make a ton of money from it. I fully expect him to die of an OD. Sad but almost an inescapable component of the same personality traits that allowed him to make money and achieve fame.

Well, to his credit at least he did a John Waters film.

He looks terrible now. The picture OP posted is from years ago.

The injury where the brain damage happens is shown in the film - he does the same bull trick he did in the first movie, meaning he just lets a fucking bull run him down. It sends him shooting into the sky this time and he lands on his head

Who'd have thought Steve-O would end up the most put together?

There's no cure for jackass...

I haven’t heard it but I certainly wouldn’t be surprised. I do like him, though, and hope he’s OK. He was really good in that movie where he buried Gram Parson’s body - still having my first cup of coffee and too lazy to look it up.

I always thought Chris Pontius was a cutie.

I can no longer find the Steve O jerk off clip online.
That is the real problem here.

He suffered for his art.
So?
He'll be fine. Fuck you, OP. You're "whole and entire" but look and listen to you. What's your excuse for sounding the way you do?
But Johnny needs to get that fat off.

Agree - the fact that Steve-O is alive and relatively stable is a miracle. Maybe because he was more aware of his ADD/hyperactive brain issues.

I think it was Chris Pontius who, as part of a Jackass stunt, took a bunch of Viagra, then got a boner and jacked off. That stunt obviously never made it to air, but screen captures from it circulated online for a while. They seem to have been completely wiped off of cyberspace.
He had a nice body and dick back then.

Knoxville always makes me think of mayonaise.

R21 Huh?
Anyway yeah it's just a shame that someone so quick witted and together felt he had to go back to the well one more time. One time too many. It was really hard to listen to him. Like his mind couldn't get out of it's own way while he was trying to speak.
I know Johnny couldn't help the Bam stuff, but the war of words over money with Steve O left a bad taste in my mouth. It was charming when it was a rag tag gang of skater brahs doing stunts. It just seems pointless now.
Hope it was worth it

R23 Oh, he STILL does. I follow him on IG. He's aged very well.

He was just on Jimmy Kimmel the other night and was fine. He talked about the bull incident.

He was on The Drew Barrymore show yesterday, and he sounded fine, too. He did talk about the bull incident. It was pretty serious and there's no doubt it left him with some cognitive issues, but they haven't impacted his speech and he seemed very articulate.

Steve-O has a very tight-knit and supportive family. I think that's why he's managed so far to conquer his demons. I hope he's able to maintain that, because they would be crushed if he ever succumbs to them.

Does anyone else remember Steve O's cameo on the OC?

Some lucky women (and men too, no doubt) got to run through those Jackass boys back in the day. Ryan Dunn killed his passenger when he crashed his car going 150. They could be assholes, but they were fine.
