The first episode of the second season dropped last night and looks to be an auspicious start. By far this was the best show in the comedy and SciFi categories that dropped last year and is immensely enjoyable with lots of heart and a stellar supporting cast of quirky characters. Alan Tudyk, the lead, is a hot daddy, and is one of those actors who you’ve seen everywhere, but don’t know who they are. This role will put him on the map, playing a darker, evil, but hilarious version of My Favorite Martian. The young town mayor is played by the hot and adorable actor Levi Fiehler, last night they had him with his wife in all kinds of kinky role play outfits and he’s sexy and beautiful. They film in this stunning town in Canada that supposedly Pamela Andersen grew up in and owns a chunk of, standing in for Colorado. Check it out, it’s on SyFy.

It really is a great show with an ensemble cast of quirky characters. It's hard to name a favorite from such a large pool of talent. Funny and touching storylines too.

D'arcy is my favorite character. Great comedic presence and timing.

I didn't know it was back, OP. Thanks for the heads up. Love everything about this show, especially the cast.

I loved that the opening episode used this song!

I enjoyed season 1. May wait for a few episodes of season 2 to air then binge them, as this show likes to end on cliffhangers. Hopefully pretty mayor Levi can keep his looks as he doesn't seem like they type to age well.
I wouldn't call Tudyk a daddy-type (too young and too broad-faced and odd looking), but the man has leading man presence and comedy chops. The young boy might grow up to be hotter than DL fave Nolan Gould of Modern Family.

Where do the “Ys” come from in SyFy, that make absolutely no sense at all? What do they stand for?

I havem't seen this, but had to say that I'm glad Tudyk has been working steadily, and getting recognition. The first thing I remember seeing him in was "28 Days", where he played the token gay. He was funny as hell, but also had some touching moments. So, bravo to talented hottie Alan Tudyk.

This is one of my favorite shows and I'm not at all into Sci-Fi. So many great characters! And the casting is terrific. (Linda Hamilton!)

Alex Borstein did a good job imitating Harry's speech pattern.

Oh god, I missed watching it this week! All week I felt like I was forgetting something and this is it! I’m off to see it now, thanks for the reminder!

Am I the only one still watching? Tudyk still makes me laugh. Was Asta always so hippy or did she have kid or something?

No, I am too. The second season is holding up with everything I liked in the first, so I’m really enjoying it. I have a very deep crush on Levi Fiehler. The sense of vulnerability he projects just makes me yearn to hold and protect him. I’m wondering if he’s so super secret about his personal life because he’s gay. Let’s hope.

The kids in this are hilarious, which is unusual.

I'm enjoying the show still. Not sure where they're going, it feels like certain plot points are barely going anywhere (like whatever Linda Hamilton's character is doing) but it's still fun.

Anyone know how much it’s aligning with the graphic novel series?

R14, I noticed the same thing about Asta! Glad it's not just me.

Resurrecting this thread because part 2 of season 2 is one of my current watches and I’m still finding s2 much more of a slog than s1.
S1 for me was all about the cantankerous alien fish out of water. The plotline was basically a mcguffin. One thing that drove me up the wall was the periodic attempts at poignancy, complete with inevitable piano tinkling.
S2 is a lot more plot, a lot more poignancy with tinkling piano, and a lot less funny alien. Several times I’ve been on the verge of throwing in the towel.

I love that they wrote audiobook narration for Jenna Lamia’s character Judy. Lamia is an award-winning narrator. Her Skeeter Phelan in The Help is worth a listen.
