There’s also been a spate of posters using the words faggot and Elderfag as slurs…not in jest. When I’ve ignored them and read their previous posts, most have turned out to be straight young women or young bisexual or even straight men. They’re toddler trolls.

Recently? It hasn't been peak DL for years and years - trolls of all variety, straight women, threads full of posts from the same posters, incredibly anemic conversation at various times.

I'm not saying it's not worth noting if you don't like it, but DLers who are waiting for some magical return to the good old days (whenever that may be for the particular DLer) will be waiting indefinitely. I take from DL what I can find - which often takes some digging these days to find great threads.

DL has always gotten small groups of people who use the internet so sit around complaining about their personal pet peeves 24/7. They come here because they can say anything without repercussion. On top of that, we've been practically overrun by people (or maybe just one committed single person) who is obviously desperate for some kind of human interaction, so they pick fights constantly.

Both those groups tend to get pissy and lash out at the drop of a hat, and in doing so, they always fall back on the homophobic comments and slurs.

The problem is that these days no one involved in moderating seems to notice. For years you couldn't even type "f*ggot" on here, or "elderg*y." Now because of the almost complete lack of moderation, we get homophobic comments constantly, and I think some DLers have stopped even noticing it because it's so frequent.
