John Malkovich?
Who should star in a Death Wish remake in which Paul Kersey targets irresponsible dog owners?

Pally, no one can replace Charles Bronson. And don't fucking try, or else you'll end up as dead as his many wives, girlfriends, daughters, female co-workers, and basically any cooze that gets within a mile of the mustache.

Malkovich would be just fine. Perfect blend of psycho and cynical humor. He could play a blend of the characters he played in “In The Line Of Fire” and “ Burn After Reading”.

I tried to watch the original “Death Wish” because it was a classic in its genre. I couldn’t even get through the home invasion scene. Not because it was too violent, but the acting was execrable. And how did Jeff Goldblum break out after that?

I think we all know who needs to be the star of your project, OP.
