I agree, R11. I once saw video of a pursuit on a highway in the southern US that ended with gunfire on a crowded highway. The person they were pursuing had been reported to be shoplifting. And most of the people who saw the video didn't see any problem with it! No one was hit by any stray bullets (or stray cars) but can you imagine? People would be a whole lot less blase about this crazy shit if it was their loved ones endangered/hurt/killed. It's generally not worth the risk to the general public to pursue.

That was a dead man’s cartwheel in the vid. I saw a bicyclist get hit next to me who unfortunately did the cartwheel and he was dead before hitting the pavement. We bystanders tried to save him but it was futile. For that motorcyclist a helmet and leathers doesn’t stop centrifugal force.

I actually witnessed an accident like this, and it was horrible in person.
The girl was speeding on a moped, and she must have lost control and hit a light pole or something.
I was jogging and heard the crash up ahead.
When I got to the site, the moped was in pieces all over the road, and she was lying face down on the street pavement.
It was pretty traumatic to see something like that.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | January 21, 2022 12:26 AM |
This was another auto theft, but in this case, the thief stole a motorcycle.
For those of you whinging that the cops shouldn't have pursued, you don't get it. This is happening all over the country. Assholes like this one are stealing motor vehicles and deliberately driving recklessly and at high rates of speed. They are causing others to crash and crashing the vehicles they steal. They are an immediate and extreme danger to everyone in the vicinity. You want them to get away with it? You want the cops to just shrug and throw up their hands?
I feel sorry for the owner of the motorcycle he destroyed, and the owners of the car he crashed into. As for his demise, I laughed. He had it coming to him.

My uncle was a state trooper in nj and he told us of a motorcycle accident. This would have been ‘74 or ‘75 I think.
The biker was driving down the highway when he spied a car in which a teenaged girl was sitting in the back seat with her bare feet propped up on the door, window rolled down. The biker investigated the owner of the feet and discovered that she was, in the words of my uncle, “a beautyful girl” so he decided it would be fun to tickle her feet, which he then proceeded to successfully do, sidling over, to the girl’s shock and amusement.
But he was not content to get away with this and lingered to see the girl’s reaction, to see her start up and look out the window. This too was in the midst of occurring when the mother, driving up front, noticed the motorcycle wasn’t just passing — it was lingering very near to her car and seemed to be engaging with the long haired princess in the back seat.
She looked back and was so startled by what she saw, the car swerved and its side plowed into the motorcycle full force. The biker was thrown clean off his motorcycle onto the pavement and was promptly crushed by a car.
My uncle interviewed the family afterwards. He said he and his partner had to try to contain themselves from laughing out loud as they did so, the little vixen’s fatal feet shifting about guiltily in her Dr Scholl’s as she explained what had happened.

If the motorcycle was stolen, the owner of the bike's insurance will have to pay. My car was hit by a stolen car and the owner of the car had to pay to fix my car, not the driver, fortunately for me a bystander got the license number because the driver didn't stop.

He was not being pursued. He was stopped by the cops for being on a stolen bike and he bolted. They did not pursue on the ground, but monitored him from the air.
I’m no fan of cops, but the motorcyclist is the only one responsible here.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | January 21, 2022 1:03 AM |
I'm surprised there aren't more horrific motorcycle deaths like this in the city to be honest. They're allowed to split between freeway lanes, which I only recently learned is a California-only thing, and at full speed, it's a rather kamikaze maneuver.

[quote]People in that burgundy car he hit are lucky. A few inches further forward and they wouldn't have been getting out on their own steam, at the very least.
You're no kidding, R4! There was a late-night crash in my area a few years ago, involving a motorcycle & a big, raised 4x4 truck/SUV. According to witnesses driving behind the truck, it was coasting down a freeway off-ramp, slowly braking to come to a stop at the red-light at the bottom of the ramp. (there were no cars ahead of them)
But then, about 10-15 yards before the intersection, the light turned green. So, the driver of the truck accelerated into the intersection make to his left-hand turn.....BAMMM!!
Some idiot on a crotch-rocket, trying to beat his red-light at a high rate of speed, slammed straight into the driver's side door. On a typical car/sedan, the motorcyclist would have probably been launched over the car (like today) and the driver of the truck would have survived the impact. But because it was raised, the motorcyclist went straight through the driver-side window & killed the driver instantly.

Of course. My mother also road for like 10 years; only crotch rockets. With a club. Not one accident. Most of the club members who got into accidents the most often were the men. None of the women, did.
I don't know how the human species manages to continue considering testosterone basically drives males to take themselves out of the gene pool at an alarming rate. Maybe that's why they're the sex that can reproduce the most offspring in a shorter period of time and are biologically driven to do it the most often. It's like an evolutionary fail safe to ensure humanity continues before 50% of the species offs themselves doing some dumb shit.

Lol, R73. Spot on. When I was a kid, a cyclist on a 10-speed was speeding in my direction while I was playing with a group of friends. Suddenly, I stood akimbo directly in front of the cyclist. To this day, I don't know why. He didn't swerve. Neither did I. He, his bike, and I landed in a tangled mess on the ground. My balls took a direct hit and felt like they had lodged somewhere in my esophagus. I've done some more dumb shit since then. 🤷🏼♂️

by Anonymous | reply 76 | January 21, 2022 7:44 AM |
Haha. Well, r74, at least you're self-aware. But yeah, there's some science to it. Males need to have higher risk tolerance, due to the fact that historically they've been the hunters and providers. The males willing to take the most risks, received the highest reward (i.e. more food, better living conditions, etc.)
Now, with the advent of supermarkets, there's no need to hunt, but the biological drive to do so hasn't gone anywhere. So, that drive to take risks gets re-directed elsewhere...but into certifiably dumb shit, lol. Y'all need to get it together.*
* = don't trip, I have little brothers. Love them dearly, but some of the life-threatening BS they've done I sometimes had to ask what was on their minds. Routine answer? "Idk 🤷♂️. "

He was dead on impact. I remember watching bodybuilder Greg Plitt getting smashed by that train he was trying to outrun. The graphic video was briefly on LiveLeak before they took it down. But watching his Gumby-like body flail midair was a sure sign of a broken back, severed spinal cord.
by Anonymous | reply 81 | January 21, 2022 8:50 AM |
People underestimate the pressure that is put on the (vital) organs of one's body when the motion forwards is suddenly stopped. The body, and its inside, still want to follow the physical pull forward, but the skin doesn't budge, and the organs and bones get squashed against the thick layer of skin in the front like someone threw them against a wall and, as a result, they can burst.

[Quote]These stupid high-speed chases have ended in a lot of deaths, injuries, and personal property damage
It wasn't a chase, though. The guy took off from a traffic cop's stop. Cop called it in and the helicopter was initiated for monitoring. At no point of as there a chase on the ground because it was deemed too risky at that time of day.

That was sick, I feel awful for the people in the sedan and anyone that witnessed it in person, it’s not something you can just shake off.
I really dislike bikers on crotch rockets because they have zero respect for other motorists weaving in and out of traffic without giving a shit if their reckless behavior causes an accident. It’s like they think the rules don’t apply to them because they are on a bike.
Every time I see those bumper stickers that say watch out for motorcycles, I immediately think there is another entitled asshole who thinks the rules don’t apply to them because they are on a bike and it’s your job to ensure you let them zip around at 90 mph while you follow the rules.

I live in L.A. and I don't see why motorcycles are allowed on public roads. There are so many accidents. They should be restricted to off-road only. (And even then, they usually = death)
Why does anyone drive one and think they'll live?
by Anonymous | reply 126 | January 21, 2022 9:10 PM |
I think this is the article R124 is talking about. There's a link to the video R124 mentions. I haven't looked yet. Be careful about watching it.

It looked like blood and something else exploded out of his back side/ass. That was really awful.
by Anonymous | reply 128 | January 21, 2022 9:17 PM |
1. The guy landed on his head. On. His. Head. Literally vertically (there's an image of that).
2. As he landed, his upper torso twisted in different directions from his lower torso and his legs were split wide open while also twisting in opposite directions (there's also a photo of that).
3. Blood and guts spilled out from his midsection as he was landing.
4. He was hit with such force that he was knocked out of his clothing (the rest tore off as he rolled on the ground).
4. He really did have a great body. Shame.
5. The link R 124 mentioned is a Freeper/Q site. FYI.

Wasn't internal decapitation possible after the initial strike in the intersection? The violent stop of forward momentum would have caused a neck to snap back immediately at that velocity, even if the body was still in forward flight?

Yep, R190/191...his innards blew out of his ass upon impact with the pavement. Path of least resistance, and all that.
As R192 said, his neck was likely snapped at the moment of impact. He was already dead while cartwheeling 100 feet through the air.

Not this guy. If they are brain dead for more than 20 minutes before it's out, they can't be donors.
The people you're thinking of have to be brought to the hospital alive (though, of course, not in good condition--stabilized).
by Anonymous | reply 215 | January 25, 2022 9:00 AM |
[R22], like [R42] said, physics. The motorcyclist was at a high rate of speed/velocity. There was his mass, the bikes’ mass and motion colliding with a near-motionless car. His impact energy sheared him across, thru: the bumper, the grill of the radiator, past the engine block etc.. Initial impact would’ve broken every bone in his body, including snapping his neck. His internal organs would have dislocated and been damaged beyond repair.
His bones would’ve further compressed as his trajectory carried him upwards from the car. Airborne, he was already dead from damage. Enter a physics formula for speed/velocity, mass, resistance, and length of travel in distance to figure out definite numbers. The sheer torque the guy had in his trajectory kept him spinning in the air. At that point he is a human skin balloon, filled with liquified damage and looking round-ish without a bone structure. While spinning in the air, his brain had already been torn from the stem, and was mixing furiously like a blender. Ancient Egyptians couldn’t have done a better job draining the brain for mummification.
One of the earlier videos in this thread shows his impact onto the sidewalk. He still had an amazing amount of torque to be released before he stopped moving. You can see from the high speed contortions his body made, that physics wasn’t done with him yet. At the video of him hitting the sidewalk, his body is still contorting like a crazed spinning top. His helmet is in a microsecond behind his legs, then the other way around between his legs, then straightens up. That’s when you see the front of his pants and his boots go tumbling UP the sidewalk and offscreen.
by Anonymous | reply 216 | January 26, 2022 12:11 PM |

We do know that his behavior that put HUNDREDS of motorists or pedestrians lives AT RISK, was "irrational," but tell mean the rest of us more about your degrees in Clinical Psychology or specialty in psychiatry that permits such an observation?
Or what you knew about his environmental or psychosocial stressors and his will to kill, which was his terminal motive, or why.
People don't usually come here trying to explain the rationale of a multiple murderer or gunman who kills. This asshole should not escape the same scrutiny as mass terrorists or mass murderers.. He (kill me for using the word) TERRORIZED hundreds along the street and could have done so much more hate, mayhem, and damage, bit ultimately FAILED at numbers.

What a selfish asshole to leave his 11-year old daughter all alone in the world for the sake of stealing a motorcycle.

There’s such a thing as ‘suicide by cop,’ where, for some reason, a person cant pull the trigger on themselves, but has to drag someone else into doing the dirty work.
I find it impossible to believe he didn’t know how that ride was going to end, but selfishly endangering many others by his choice of suicide, instead the thousands of other ways he could’ve offed himself. .
Maybe he was ‘World’s greatest dad,’when he was with his daughter, but probably not, and she’ll probably grow up better without a man who clearly had serious mental issues

[quote]That little girl is adorable though. I feel bad for his sister losing her only family member, but he brought it on himself.
That's who I mainly feel bad for in situations like this; the family members left behind due to the blatant stupidity of the decedent themselves. I guarantee you that in the anger stage of grief, she's cussing her brother out nonstop for not making better decisions.
I know a couple of people who have lost loved ones to substance abuse who feel the same. They're angry at them for their destructive choices, which only seems to amplify the devastation. Very sad.

[quote]Why does his idiot sister not recognize his long- lingering homicidal nature.
She probably does. That's not necessary to express publicly, and I don't know too many people who would do so for their loved ones. That's "family business." You don't know what kind of back and forths they probably had about his behavior. He probably was worrying her nerves on a daily basis. I'm pretty sure we all have at least one relative or friend like this and have the beta-blocker prescriptions to prove it.
Selfish people tend to ignore the concerns of their loved ones and continue on with their bullshit.

I still take great satisfaction viewing this.
During my commute, cycle riders swerve in and out of lanes like crazy.
And I hope this guy hadn’t produced offspring…Darwin and everything.

Yes indeed, we too use "cookies." Take a look at our privacy/terms or if you just want to see the damn site without all this bureaucratic nonsense, click ACCEPT. Otherwise, you'll just have to find some other site for your pointless bitchery needs.
